"No, no I would rather not," Cicada responded shaking her head. She stepped out of the metal box and onto the hard rock like surface. She shuddered a little, "I would rather not see how much control a person has over me."
"No, no I would rather not," Cicada responded shaking her head. She stepped out of the metal box and onto the hard rock like surface. She shuddered a little, "I would rather not see how much control a person has over me."
Aron swung the staff at her, eyes narrowed in concentration. He swung at her, just trying to do some damage. He knew that the staff would be taken away eventually, but he wasn't really thinking clearly.
"Don't worry," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) said casually. "You yourself are never gonna have to deal with it. You're never gonna meet your Author, after all." andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) turned to his own characters who were back to flickering. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) himself was dressed differently than when they had been at the base, in a plain shirt and jeans.
"Speaking of Authors, we're after one now. Intel says his name is Kun; he's the one who brought in the two." Celeste/Crow nodded.
The woman ducked to avoid the staff, but it hit her shoulder. She hissed a little, grabbing onto the end of it and using it as leverage to side kick Aron.
Cicada kept her comment to herself. She would find her author, just so she could return back home. She heard what andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) said, "We're after an Author for bringing two of his character's in, what's wrong with that?"
Aron grunted as her foot made contact, wrenching at the staff to try and pull it away from her again. His armor was dented and dirty by now. Some time in the sun would fix it, but he doubted that would happen ever again.
"It's illegal," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) explained. "And since two came in separately, it's been decided he was fully aware of his actions. Normally, we don't track down people who brought their characters here, since more often then not it's accidental, but when it's found it was on purpose…" andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) shrugged.
"So, we're going to go out into the city. The number one rule is to stick with me, okay?"
The staff slipped a little, but the woman held onto it firmly. She went in for the punch again, moving so Aron wouldn't be able to leverage the staff enough to hit her with it again.
Aron grunted as her fist made contact. He dropped the staff and flung himself across the room to get some space, and tugged his sword out from the scabbard, holding it in his right hand.
The woman held onto the staff with both hands, using it as a pole vault to launch herself above Aron,, bringing it down hard to try to hit his head.
Aron swung the sword up to meet the staff, jaw set and lips pressed into a thin line.
The woman bounced back from the kinetic force generated by their weapons meeting, landing lightly on her feet. This time, she held her hand up, and a bright flash of light burst force to try to blind Aron.
Aron closed his eyes, but the flash had already blinded him temporarily. He went still, sword at the ready.
"Understood," Cicada nodded along. She didn't understand there rules. What if it had been an accident? That's always a possibility.
The woman rushed at Aron, but before she was within slashing range she jumped and twisted around to Aron's back, not making a sound as she landed, making it to where it was near impossible for Aron to realize she was behind him and not in front. She swung with her staff again, going for the back of his head.
"Good." With that, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) looked at Crow and Celeste again, holding his hand out and touching their arm. Celeste flinched a little, and they they disappeared.
"Let's get going."
Aron grunted as the staff hit his head, stumbling forward and nearly going to his knees. He scrambled upright again, whirling with his sword upraised.
The woman didn't make a sound anymore, stalking around him and looking for an opening. She rushed him again.
Cicada winced as Celeste/Crow disappeared. She hadn't been expecting that, but kept her face neutral as she followed along beside andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer).
He tracked her, cocking his head a little. He held up his sword to block her blow, eyes narrowed.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) glanced over at Cicada, smiling a little.
"I just pocketed them," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) explained. He tapped his temple with one finger. "Sent them to my mind. Theoretically, characters are just creativity expressed, so it makes sense for us Authors to be able to do it."
The woman's staff collided with Aron's sword, and she ducked underneath, swinging a leg out to take Aron down.
"Right," Cicada nodded along becoming wary of andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer). She knew he held no power over her, but the idea still put her off.
Aron jumped back just in time to avoid the leg sweep, swinging at her with his sword as soon as he could.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) led Cicada out of the parking lot, and the moment they stepped on the sidewalk, there was a little tug at Cicada's gut. It was telling her to go a certain direction, but it was the one opposite of andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer). She could either follow the rules and stick with andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer), or follow her gut and see where it leads her.
The sword sliced through the woman's arm, leaving a gash. She gasped a little, pulling away.
Aron grinned, a wolf's grin, and slashed out at her again, pressing the advantage he had gained.
Cicada knew from basically her entire life to go with her gut, but she needed to stay in these people's good graces. She hesitated for a moment before following after andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer). Maybe this way she could help the author who was now in trouble.
