Eclipse nodded, "Of course sweetheart.." he said softly, hugging him tightly. "It's okay, we'll get through this" he sighed, moving so the other was curled against his chest. "Do you want me to cast it?"
Eclipse nodded, "Of course sweetheart.." he said softly, hugging him tightly. "It's okay, we'll get through this" he sighed, moving so the other was curled against his chest. "Do you want me to cast it?"
Nik nodded a little, and held onto Eclipse desperately. He was still crying softly, body shaking and shuddering. He felt like he couldn't breathe.
Eclipse sighed, hugging him as he pulled a moonstone out of his pocket, drawing his own powers out, he cast the spell, sending the other into a calming, deep, and dreamless sleep. He let his own muscles relax a little, feeling a wave of exhaustion just from using his aura, though it was worth it or Nik.
Nik stiffened a little, then relaxed as he fell asleep. He was still clinging to Eclipse though, even in his sleep. He looked exhausted, and so, so young and hurt and broken.
Eclipse hate the fact that the other had been hurt this way, but he couldn't do anything but help him. Sighing, he simply cuddled him close, determined to keep watch until the spell wore off in a few hours.
(gonna do a little timeskip~)
When Nik awoke, he felt better than he had earlier. Though not very much. He still hurt, and the memories of what had happened wouldn't stop pulsing through his mind and body. He shuddered, opening his eyes and looking up at Eclipse.
Eclipse was watching him quietly, as he had been when the other fell asleep. "Hey." he whispered softly, not wanting to spook him, or scare him, or upset him in any way.
Nik shivered a little, cuddling closer to Eclipse. "I thought it was a dream again." He whispered softly, clinging onto Eclipse.
"I'm not… I'm here.." he sighed, "Leaving you is something I'll regret for the rest of my life.." he mumbled with a sigh. "But I won't do it again, not even if it means anarchy.."
"I told you to." Nik argued softly. "I-it's not your fault." he took a shaky breath, swallowing. "Is everyone…what happened?" he asked.
Eclipse shook his head softly, but didn't press on the subject. "Riker, Arron, Errol, and Lieze made it out safely, they were the ones who found me after I ran. Lieze went back to the Kevran capitol to take over and keep things smooth, I was forced to go back to Tesh to keep things stable there, and your guards, along with a lot of my forces have been searching for you ever since."
Nik nodded a little. "Okay." he said quietly, leaning his head against Eclipse's chest. He swallowed, closing his eyes for a moment, then opening them again. "I missed you…" he whispered.
"I missed you too.." said Eclipse softly, hugging him. "Every day I hoped that they would find you….." he sighed, "Being a royal sucks, especially when you have to delegate things you don't want to.."
Nik nodded in agreement. "I know. I…I don't think I'm fit to…to rule anymore." He said slowly, avoiding Eclipse's eyes. "A king who can barely function anymore isn't w very good king."
"You don't have to now.." he said softly, "But you have to choose a regent at least." he said softly, hugging him tightly, "You can come back with me if you like?"
"I don't think your kingdom would want me…I killed so many during the war, and…" Nik shuddered a little, holding onto Eclipse desperately.
Eclipse shook his head, "They can deal, you're my soulmate, and nothing will change that." he sighed, hugging him. "Besides, the war is over. Lieze and I have been working on that for weeks."
Nik flinched a little at the hug, going still and his eyes flickering a little. "Okay." he said softly, swallowing hard and trying to stop how he was shaking again, whole body quivering and caught with fear and memories.
Eclipse sighed, hugging him, "Would it help if I shifted?" he asked, trying to be the other's support.
He shrugged a little, still shaking. His throat felt tight. So tight and he was scared and he couldn't stop remembering what they had done to him. He let out a muffled sob, burying his face in Eclipse's chest.
Eclipse simply hugged him, wishing he could make it better. "Do…Do you wanna talk?" he asked finally.
Nik shook his head, shivering a little at the idea. "N-no…" He whispered, clinging to Eclipse as if the male were his lifeline. "I'm s-sorry…this is a-all my fault…a-and…" He was crying again now.
Eclipse's grip on the other tightened, "Nik..hey it's okay…" he held him close, "You don't have to talk… you don't have to do anything.." he sighed, "I'm here, and I'm not leaving.."
"Promise?" Nik whispered, still crying softly. He was clinging to Eclipse desperately. "You promise?" He said again, desperate for Eclipse to stay and not leave him again. He didn't want Eclipse to leave again.
"Promise." he said softly,"I promise.." he was barely holding back his own tears by now as he held the other close, which was about the only thing he could do as he forced himself to stay strong for him.
