"My back, it may be worn raw but it'll be a lot easier to get used to… Thank you by the way."
"My back, it may be worn raw but it'll be a lot easier to get used to… Thank you by the way."
"Yeah, no… Don't thank me… It's the least I could do. I'll start by looking at the stab wounds. Tell me a little more about the rib fractures. Depending on how bad they are… well… that affects your outlook… If they're just slightly cracked, we can ice them and get you some drugs to help with the pain, and they'll eventually heal on their own." Cyrus explained all of this quickly, while going to put on gloves and grab some gauze and bandages.
Uriah walked down the halls and retraced his steps back to the room Luna and Sparrow were last seen. "Sparrow, Luna! I have some news." He didn't hear anything. "Did they go somewhere else?"
Luna looked to Uriah sharply, she walked over, "W-what happened?"
"Ah, I found Alex outside the front door. Cy just took him to the medical room." He wasn't sure of what else to say. He just pointed down the hall, but she already knew where it was at so that was pointless.
The pointed to the two lower rows of his rib cage "They focused around there one is, ow, more than likely smashed the others, ow, I'm not sure."
Luna's eyes opened wide. She walked up to him, "Y-you're being a hundred percent serious right now? Th-then show me th-the way!"
"If it's smashed, then…"
Cyrus did not finish his sentence. He didn't want to think about it. He wasn't sure if he, or anyone else here would be able to fix something that severe.
He dipped some of the gauze he had in alcohol, then laid it over the wounds on his sides.
"I'll go get some pain meds…"
"Alright follow me." He made she to walk Luna's pace so he didn't get to far ahead. "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" She looked mature, but to if she still seemed to act young. It was weird walking with her, he could never tell what she was thinking and how she felt about anyone. Ever since he met her she has been a mystery to him.
"S-seventeen," Luna said speeding up. She wanted to see Alex as soon as she could. She wanted him to be okay, he can't have gotten killed too. That would mean Luna was the only one to have made it out alive.
Eira sat on a chair in a corner of the room, watching silently. She new Alex would be okay eventually but it hurt to see him in so much pain.
Cyrus cast a glance back at Eira.
"You good? You don't have to watch if it bothers you…"
“I’m fine, don’t worry Cyrus.” Eira tried her best at a smile but it failed miserably,
Cyrus looked down at his feet and laughed softly. "I'm not convinced… But I know you want to stay here for his sake, so I won't bother you any more about it. If you want to help though, you could get some ice or something. Preferably a soft ice pack or cold compress if you can find them."
Eira nodded and stood, “I think there’s some in the back, I’ll go look.” She took another warm glance at Alex before she walked away and into another room.
Uriah opened the door for Luna to go in first. He looked over and saw Cyrus trying to fix up Alex. "How's it going in here? Also I brought someone to see you."
Alex weakly waved to Luna "Hey Luna, how ya been?"
Eira came back into the room a few minutes later, a couple ice packs in hand, “Here…” She said, giving them to Cyrus,
Uriah looked to see Eira, but couldn't get the image of her walking away from him out of his head. As soon as he realized what he was thinking he turned away. I can't think like that. "Anything I can help with?" He needed a distraction.
Luna smiled back and nodded, "F-fine. H-how are you doing?"
"I feel like I've been hit by a truck… but at least I found you guys…" he clutched his stomach as if his insides would fall out.
"Y-Yeah, at least you did," Luna responded with relief.
(Question, how bad are the injuries? I don't wanna start just making stuff up… And if they're super serious, they literally would require surgery for him to even likely survive. Sorry… I'm just trying to be realistic, and being a prospective doctor doesn't help my case lol)
Cyrus pulled Alex's shirt up just enough so he could see where the bruising over his broken ribs had started to spread. He carefully started to lay the ice pack over the worst of it, in hopes this would at least get the swelling to go down. He continued to tend to the stab wounds and checked them for any debris or anything else that might need to be cleaned out before he did anything else.
"You're still bleeding some…" Cyrus murmured, "I might have to stitch it up, but I'm hoping that won't be the case."
(the only thing that's severe is the shattered rib, the stab wounds are deep but not life-threatening)
(Damn, okay.)
