Blaine rolled her eyes again with a smile of her own. “We’re almost there. C’mon.”
Blaine rolled her eyes again with a smile of her own. “We’re almost there. C’mon.”
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Andion ruffled his hair as they walked into the archery range.
“Okay, go grab a bow that’s your size and weight, then grab a quiver,” Blaine directed as she did the same.
Andion nodded and did as instructed. He grab a bow, testing it for it's weight and size before deciding it was the right one before he grabbed a quiver, "Right, okay."
Blaine walked over to him with her favorite quiver of arrows sling over her shoulder and her favorite bow in her hand. “Ready, then? Do you want me to show you first, or help you?”
"You go first." Andion said, biting his lip.
“Okay. Just watch what I do, and see if you can copy me,” Blaine said as she knocked an arrow and aimed.
Andion followed, knocking an arrow into his bow and aiming just like Blaine.
Releasing a breath, Blaine let go of her arrow. Bullseye…
Andion glanced over at Blaine before back to the target and let go of the arrow, it only falling short a few meters in front of the target.
Blaine peered at the arrow Andion had shot and thought for a moment. Either he needed a stronger bow, or he needed to move closer.
“How hard is it for you to pull your bow?”
"Oi! I'm not 'Miss Perfect shot' okay? I told you I suck at archery and I'm just proving my point…" Andion made a move to put his bow down.
“Babe, seriously. I’m not making fun of you. I’m trying to figure out why your arrow didn’t reach the target,” Blaine explained, walking over and lifting the bow back up.
"It didn't reach the target, because I am terrible at archery, Blaine." Andion said, rolling his eyes a little.
“That’s not the reason, Andion. Now, how hard is it to pull your bow?” Blaine repeated, placing a hand on her hip.
Andion muttered something inaudible before he knocked another arrow in his bow and aimed again. He pulled back the arrow further this time and released, only for the arrow to go too far.
Blaine stepped in front of him before he could nock another arrow and placed her hands on his arms. “Stop what you’re trying to do and let me help you, Mr. Stubborn.”
Andion sighed and stuck his tongue out at her, "Fine…"
Blaine, you are dating a child, she thought, shaking her head at him.
“Okay, hold your bow the way you woul if you were going I shoot it, would you?” Blaine asked, stepping out of his way.
Andion sighed again but did as he was told, holding the bow up, "Next?"
“I’m just going to move you into the correct position,” Blaine said, already adjusting his elbow and arms. “And I want you to remember this position so you can do it on your own next time.”
"Yes Ma'am." Andion's lips twitched into the barest hint of a smile as Blaine moved his arms.
“Don’t call me ‘Ma’am’, it makes me feel old. Haven’t we had this conversation? Anyway… Pull back on the string now,” Blaine said, taking a step back from him.
Andion nodded, the tiny smile still there and turning into a smirk at Blaine’s words, and pulled the string back.
Blaine moves behind Andion and stood on her tiptoes to look over his shoulder. She hummed softly and moved his arm a bit to aim.
“Okay, breath in, and then release the arrow at the same time as you breathe out.”
