"Overreacting or not, I'm still ticked that you decided to do that," Blaine muttered.
"Overreacting or not, I'm still ticked that you decided to do that," Blaine muttered.
“If I didn’t hundreds of people would have died.” Andion snapped as they walked through the gates of the guild.
Blaine shook her head slowly. "Fine. Whatever. We should go report to Thranion, now."
“I was planning on it.” Andion led them through the guild, mostly silent because everyone had gone to sleep. There was the occasional guard that passed by and acknowledged them with a nod of their head but nothing more. Eventually they reached Thranion’s office, Andion opening the doors swiftly.
“I hope the mission went smoothly.” Thranion said.
"For the most part," Blaine stated with a glance at Andion. "He's dead, as are a few guards."
Thranion raised an eyebrow, “A few guards?” He asked, sending a look Andion’s way who, didn’t respond.
"There were two on the roof that needed to be taken out, and then two that were drawn to attention by Andion taking his sweet time and lighting some papers on fire," Blaine explained matter-of-factly.
Thranion turned his attention sharply to Andion.
“What papers?” He asked, his gaze cold.
“Documents for slave and weapons trades. I hadn’t burnt them hundred of people would have died.” Andion said, trying his best to keep calm and stop shaking.
Thranion rubbed his face, “I signed the weapons trade.”
Blaine stood still, silently watching the exchange. What had Andion done?
“Oh, well great! You sighed a deal with the guy you wanted us to kill!” Andion threw his arms up in the air, “Why?” He demanded.
Thranion stood, “Because at the time, we needed more weapons. Farron was the one who could do this for us.”
“And then you wanted him dead!”
“Yes.”
“I’m not apologising for what I did, if that’s what you want.” Andion snapped and Thranion walked up to him and slapped him across the face.
Blaine winced as she watched Andion get slapped. She backed up a step, hoping that some distance would keep her from getting the same treatment. Honestly, she really didn't know what to do.
“Get out.” Thranion said.
“Gladly.” He was slapped once more before leaving the room.
"Sir? Um, did you need me for anything else?" Blaine asked warily.
“No, no I don’t. You’re free to go.” Thranion said, turning to his desk.
Blaine nodded and backed out carefully. Once she was out the door, she turned around and headed for Andion. She walked quickly to catch up to him.
"What was that all about?" she asked quietly.
“Nothing.” Andion replied. His left cheek was bright red from the slaps he earned, and he didn’t care one bit.
"It clearly wasn't nothing," Blaine argued, gesturing to his cheek. "Why would you talk to him like that? You know what he can do to you."
“I don’t care, it was worth it.” Andion replied, taking a turn to the training ring even though it was late at night.
Blaine continued to follow him, her features twisted in confusion.
"Okay, but why?" she asked again. "Just… Why?"
“Why what? Why did I snap at him? Because I wanted too. Why did I burn the documents?” He paused before shaking his head, “It doesn’t matter.”
Blaine frowned. Obviously, it mattered, and quite a bit, too, if he was willing to argue with Thranion about it. Why did it matter so much to him, though? What could possibly be so important that he would burn those documents and risk Thranion's wrath?
“Are you going to stand there all night frowning at me or go to sleep?” He asked, taking off his coat before picking up a dagger and hurling it at the nearest dummy.
Crossing her arms, Blaine continued to stand and watch Andion.
"I just don't understand what could possibly make you do that," she said, shaking her head.
"Well then you don't have to to know everything. Maybe, I don't want to tell you, or maybe there's no reason at all." Andion said, throwing his arms up in the air for a moment before chucking yet another dagger at the same dummy.
"Oh, there's obviously a reason," Blaine argued. "You just clearly don't want to tell me. Why?"
