"Well, maybe you were just looking in the wrong places. Where have you looked already? We could start searching other places or looking in the same places again," Blaine suggested.
"Well, maybe you were just looking in the wrong places. Where have you looked already? We could start searching other places or looking in the same places again," Blaine suggested.
"I've looked through most of the known tongues spoken here, none of the magical ones or ancient ones so maybe we could start there." Andion shrugged.
Blaine nodded her agreement.
"Sure. Do you want to start on one end and I'll start in the other? Or should we start in the same place?" she asked, looking up at him with a smile.
Andion smiled back, "You start at one end and grab any books that look useful and I'll do the other. That way we can meet in the middle of one row and make our way through those books."
"Sounds good. I'll see you in a bit, then," Blaine said with a grin, giving him a wink before starting to the other end of the book shelf.
Andion chuckled and headed to the other side of the row, slowly scanning the ends of the books for any that jumped out at him. It was probably a useless project but anytime he got to spend with Blaine was good by him.
Blaine was actually pretty interested in the project, not having done something like this before. She had quite a large pile of books in a short while. Realizing she couldn't hold them all for much longer, she started to stack them on a nearby table.
Andion had quite a few books in hand but was able to hold the wait. He picked up one more before he couldn't see anymore and decided it best to put them down. He noticed where Blaine had put some books already and added to the pile, looking down at the many books sitting there.
Blaine carried another, though significantly shorter, stack of books over. She saw the look on Andion's face and smirked.
"Is the task looking daunting now?" she teased.
"No. Of course not. It's fine, we can do this." He replied, although he still grimaced a little at all the books. Sighing, he sat down.
"We can, trust me. It's just a few books, how hard could this be?" Blaine asked jokingly as she sat across from him and picked up a book.
Andion picked one up and flicked through the pages, "Books with a lot of information."
Blaine chuckled. "True, but it's not like we have to read them in-depth. We can just skim through."
"I guess that's true. We better get to book then." Andion replied, giving Blaine a smile before starting to read.
Blaine hummed in agreement before she looked down at the book in front of her. She glanced up quickly at the stack of books and grimaced a bit. There really were a lot of them…
"Now you look like me," Andion said, chuckling, "But like you said, how hard can it be?"
"Exactly," Blaine said with a nod, putting on a determined face. "Let's hurry up and do this, then."
Andion shook his head a smiled before starting to skim the books for anything the would be useful for their little project. He sighed and flicked through page after page of information.
Blaine looked back down at her book with a silent sigh. Flipping through pages, she searched for anything that could be of use to them. After her fourth book, she started to wonder if she had been right about this whole thing.
Andion rested his head in his hand as he flipped through a book with some strange markings and frowned, bringing his face closer to the book to study the markings,
Blaine glanced up to see how Andion was doing and noticed him staring at one of his books.
"Find something?" she asked, curious.
"Possibly. The marks here look like the ones on the door." He said, turning the book around so Blaine could see.
Leaning over to see better, Blaine looked at the marks. She looked over at the door, then back at the book.
"Yeah, they do. Do you think they could be the same?" she wondered. "Maybe there's another book in here somewhere with more…"
"They could be the same, yes. Check under runes and other writings like that." Andion said, flicking to another page with more similar markings.
"All right," Blaine said as she started to look for a book in the pile under the topic. Once she found one, she started flipping through it, skimming for the markings.
