Arthur took another long drink, ignoring the memories that wanted to swell up, and drowning them with another drink.
Arthur took another long drink, ignoring the memories that wanted to swell up, and drowning them with another drink.
Mikhail filled up his cup again. He's going through a bad break-up. That's the only thing I can think of as to why he came here.
Arthur downed it within a few moments, "Thanks…" he said it slowly as his mind clouded.
"Another one?" Mikhail asked.
"Yeah…"
Mikhail quickly filled up the cup then handed it back to Arthur.
Arthur drained it in a few minutes. feeling the fog of drunkenness fall over him.
Mikhail refilled it and gave it to the man again.
Arthur took it gratefully, taking another long drink, now feeling foggy, and not caring.
"Are you drunk enough?" Mikhail asked
"yeah.." said Arthur, flopping on the counter, wanting to sleep.
Mikhail chuckled and looked around, no one else was here. "Do you have a plan of getting home?"
"I don't have a home…" said Arthur, slurring just a little from the combined exhaustion, and alcohol.
"So you just live on the streets?" Mikhail asked.
"Out in the woods…"
"Oh okay then…" Mikhail muttered. He had also lived in the woods when he was younger but the owner of the bar was kind enough to let Mikhail stay with him and practically raise him.
Arthur pulled out some gold coins he'd lifted off some thugs, and placed them on the counter shakily, before stumbling to his feet attempting to leave.
Mikhail quickly picked up the coins and got up from behind to give them Arthur. "Keep them."
Arthur shook his head, stumbling outside, and beginning to head down the street for the woods, Nearly falling over with every step. I've never been this unbalanced….
That's what you get for getting yourself drunk… came the soft reply to his thoughts.
"I-uhm-do you need help?" Mikhail asked awkwardly, not sure what to do.
"I'm fine.." muttered Arthur stubbornly, not wanting to cause him trouble.
"You don't look fine." Mikhail replied stubbornly, wanting to help the man for some reason.
"I wasn't fine to begin with" said Arthur leaning against a wall, now on the edge of the village.
"I-That's not what I meant," Mikhail muttered, quietly walking behind him.
Arthur tensed as he heard the footsteps come up behind him, he pushed up off the wall and began to run, keeping his balance just barely through momentum.
