The attack that killed mg dad, caused mom to vanish, and separated me from my twins." Said Arthur, he didn't mind Mikhail asking, he'd mostly accepted the event.
The attack that killed mg dad, caused mom to vanish, and separated me from my twins." Said Arthur, he didn't mind Mikhail asking, he'd mostly accepted the event.
Mikhail nodded along, feeling a bit bad for Arthur. "I know everyone says this but I'm sorry for your loss."
Arthur sighed, "It wasn't that… that broke me…" he said, "Life was actually pretty good for me after that. I knew my siblings, wherever they had ended up, were safe. And I had been adopted into a mountain village. Almost everyone treated me as their own."
"Oh, that's good!" Mikhail replied.
"Yeah…. Until I was stupid enough to try and find my siblings…"
"Then you became a Chaosae warrior?"
"Ha! Like I was ever able to hold that title on my own. Not without trouble." said Arthur, "More or less that is and isn't what happened."
"Then what happened next?" Mikhail asked.
"I was lured…." said Arthur quietly. "Into a trap worse than anything…"
"What was it?" Mikhail questioned.
Arthur sighed, letting the sabre reform. "First there are two things you have to understand." he said, "First off, this blade doesn't just come with Chaosae Aura. There's a spirit linked to the blade." The blade pulsed as he mentioned the Spirit. "His name is Discordion, also known as the Spirit of Chaos. No one knows why or how he became linked to the Sabre, including himself. But, I'm lucky he exists. If he didn't then the instant i came in contact with the sabre, would've been the instant of my destruction." Arthur's voice was calm as he said it, holding back torrents of memories as he remembered the sheer agony he'd felt in that moment.
Mikhail nodded along, trying his best to understand it. At least he looks calm now.
"What happened, is that another spirit was residing within the blade when I came in contact with it. That monster was lying in wait. Just waiting for some unsuspecting fool to touch the blade." Arthur frowned. "Too bad that fool was me. I was so focused on finding my siblings, I didn't sense the whisper in the back of my head, the ones that led me to a dark cavern in the middle of nowhere. Discordion is the only reason the other spirit didn't.." he paused, knowing he had to let it out. "When I touched the blade I was attacked. The second spirit, put there by a much more powerful dark force, tried to destroy my soul. The only reason he didn't was because Discordion merged with me and forced his power into me to protect me. He saved my life. But…"
"But I couldn't prevent that monster from taking control." The voice came from the trees, a dark haired man with dragon wings, identical to the ones Arthur had earlier.
Mikhail jumped in surprise and almost fell over when he heard a voice behind him, turning around to see a man with dragon wings. "Well, at least you cared about your siblings. Also, is the other monster in your head now?"
"Thank gods not…" said Arthur, unable to contain a shiver. "But he controlled me for a long time. Every move I made for 12 years was never my own."
"That's bad," Mikhail mumbled. My siblings didn't even know I was alive, they thought I was their servant.
"Yeah… especially since my own family can't look at me without remembering what I did to them…."
Mikhail gently hugged Arthur. "I really am sorry for what happened to you."
Arthur melted into his grip. "I just wish I could forget…."
"Just don't think about it," Mikhail mumbled.
"I don't try too…. but I keep reliving the memories no matter how hard I try to forget…."
"It's okay, that happens to a lot of people."
"Most people don't get possessed by an evil spirit for twelve years…."
"Well, most people don't almost get murdered every day…."
"That was my twin brother for awhile…."
