Mikhail threw the clothes into the washer then went downstairs, sitting down in a chair in-front of the couch. "So…"
Arthur looked up suddenly when he heard Mikhail, his dark green eyes betraying his nervousness.
"Ummm, do you wanna do something….?" Mikhail asked, scratching the back of his neck nervously.
Arthur shrugged, not sure what to say, or do, in this situation.
Mikhail looked around awkwardly, not sure what to do.
Arthur watched him shyly, fingering the chain of his amulet, which hung against his skin under the borrowed hoodie,
Mikhail wasn't sure if Arthur was going to ask about the door, if he had seen it, which was making him more nervous by the second. One of the sleeves of Mikhail's shirt slid off a bit, revealing even more cuts and scars.
Arthur noticed the scars almost immediately, but didn't bother saying anything, wondering if he should ask about that door he'd seen..
Mikhail didn't realize the sleeve had slipped down a bit. "Do you want to ask me anything?"
Arthur pulled his knees up to his chest, "well…" his voice was soft, "I did see you go through a weird door earlier…"
"Right, that… Well-um-what do you want to know about it?" Mikhail asked, fiddling with his fingers.
"Just what it was" said Arthur calmly, "And if it has anything to do with those scars on your shoulder…" he trailed off, hoping he hadn't gone too far.
Mikhail furrowed his eyebrows in confusion when he started talking about scars on his shoulder, making him glance at his shoulder and quickly pulling it up, blushing in embarrassment. "It was kind of like a portal, but in the shape of a door. It leads into a world which is like a safe haven for people like me."
"Doesn't seem so safe if you get hurt…" said Arthur quietly.
"Well, that was mostly because of my clumsiness and because of some fights that I got into." Mikhail muttered quietly.
"You don't really seem like the clutsy type…" said Arthur tilting his head.
"Well, I am." Mikhail replied, trying his best not to make eye-contact with Arthur.
Arthur watched him curiously, fairly certain that that statement was a half lie at best.
"You don't look you you believe me, do you want more proof?" Mikhail asked.
"It's ok.." said Arthur, "Who am I to ask… I'm just a rat from the woods…"
"You're not a rat from the woods, you're a person." Mikhail replied.
"Yeah… A rat from the woods…" said Arthur, I can't even call myself human without lying…
"Then I'd also be a rat from the woods." Mikhail replied.
"You actually live in a house…" said Arthur in confusion.
"So, if George hadn't found me, I would also be a rat?" Mikhail asked, a bit confused.
