Cathal gasps, spinning around as the woman walked in. He gets out his gun, his hands shaking. “Who-“ he looks her over.
Teddy had the same reaction, getting up and growling at her. Cathal stared at the woman. She didn’t look like she was infected. He snaps his fingers and teddy lays back down, but the growl in his throat was still there. Cathal takes a sharp breath. “How did you-“
(Oop wait let me fix that-)
Trianna laughs.
"I know you pulled a gun on me - put it down. I'm not an enemy until you try and shoot me." she replies.
"As for how I got in, I just picked the lock. Funny how much one can do in the apocalypse, even when blind." she chuckles.
"My name's Locke. No, that's not my real name, but the old me died once this hell party started. Yes, I am armed, but I'm only a threat if you threaten me." she explains.
He takes a deep breath, then pockets his gun. “Just don’t- do that- god. You scared she shit outta me- you could have lead the zombies into my base!”
"Don't worry about them." Trianna snorts. "I'll be tacking care of them shortly. In the meantime, you don't mind if I crash here for a while, do you? I haven't had a proper night's rest since this whole damn thing started."
(Btw, how long has the apocalypse been a thing?)
(Um- I’d say- maybe 2-3 years? What do you think-)
He huffs, “Sure…just- don’t hurt my dog-“ he grumbles, plopping himself down. “I’ve gotta couple of mats on the far left corner of the bunker. Place is pretty big I’d say- so be careful not to ram into anything.”
(Hmmm. . . 3 1/2 should work, right?)
"I won't. I like animals." she smiles, clicking her tongue quietly then laughing.
"Is the dog helping with the healing process down there?" she asks Tohru.
(Yeah that’ll work!)
Cathal hums. “Yes. He’s a service dog…his name is Teddy.” He glances at Teddy to make sure he was okay, then back to the woman. “I’ll have food ready in a bit as well if you’re hungry. But- don’t bring any more people in here. I’m not a charity.”
Teddy looks at the woman, tilting his head and then woofs softly at her.
(Since you mentioned plains with few trees I'm assuming this is like, Kansas or someplace like that)
"I don't meet very many healthy animals." Trianna says softly.
"I have my own food, actually." she grins, turning to face Cathal. "As for bringing more people, I couldn't. Pretty much everyone that I've run across has been infected or I had to kill because they were being jackasses. I'm sure I've cleared out about half of downtown Wichita at this point."
(Yeah pretty much-)
Cathal huffs. “Well no killing us. Deal? Trust me when I say, the last person who tried to hurt me got bitten by teddy.” He pets teddy, bouncing on his heels slightly.
Teddy leans into his touch, quiet for the most part apart from his quiet panting.
(Oops yeah, based on that, ima bump Tohru's age up a few years)
Tohru is very quiet at first, listening to the two talk.
"There's no reason for any hostility here," Tohru sighs, "I've had enough violence for a lifetime in the past two weeks alone. I'm just here until I can walk better. I think. I'm not sure where I'm headed, truthfully."
"I'll only kill you if you give me a reason to." Trianna shrugs. "By the way, what's your name?"
She glances down at Tohru thoughtfully - more of an instinct than an actual glance to look at the man since she couldn't see. "Stay here then."
Cathal pauses, thinking for a moment. “Cathal.” He mumbles.
Teddy licks Tohru’s hand, then gets up, moving to Trianna’s side. He gently bumps her thigh his his nose.
Tohru pauses momentarily before giving his name. He realizes even he and Cathal haven't properly introduced themselves yet.
"Name's Tohru," he says softly, his eyes darting away to the side.
He's almost grateful the woman can't see how absolutely pathetic he is.
"Cathal. Tohru." she hums softly, repeating the names.
"I like them. They're elegant." she grins. She finally puts her arrow back in the quiver and her bow in its spot between her back and her backpack.
She finds her way over to the mats and nods to herself. She tackes off her bad and sets it down, placing her bow next to it.
She takes off her bandolier and quiver next, setting them carefully on top of her bag.
The belt and knife holder come off after that, and she secures those behind the bag.
The jacket comes off, revealing a sports bra. She'd taken off her shirt and stuffed it into her bag earlier that day.
The pants come off next, leaving her in simple yoga pants, cut just below her knees.
She was tan and very, very muscled, but very skinny despite this. She leaves her mask on, though. She wasn't sure she could trust them fully enough to show her face but they couldn't possibly be good enough to catch her off guard. She'd learned to sleep very lightly, and always with one hand on her weapons.
Cathal sighs, leaning against the wall and twirling his finger around a strand of his hair. He seemed to now be making small noises here and there, mostly popping sounds with his lips.
Teddy seemed to stick by the girls side, guiding her and making sure she didn’t bump into anything or get hurt. He looks up at her and woofs softly, bumping his nose against her leg once again.
Trianna looks down and grins. "Don't worry bud, I'll be fine. My ears and fingers are good enough for me to navigate without impedence. I've survived three and a half years on my own, after all."
She crouches down and ruffles the dog's fur.
Teddy’s tail wags and he leans into her touch. He then licks her hand before scampering off back to Tohru and laying back down.
Trianna listens to the dog scamper off before turning back to face where she knew Catchal was.
"Tomorrow. Come out hunting with me. It's been too long since I've had the pleasure of fighting alongside someone." she calls out.
Cathal huffs. “I don’t hunt many animals! Unless I know for sure they aren’t infected or what have you.” He kicks a paper ball out of the way.
"No, I mean zombie hunting." she chuckles. Her eyes gleamed.
"Have both of you been alone all this time?" Tohru asks, "I can't imagine surviving so long without someone else to watch my back."
He leans back, stretching out his sore limbs. Tohru is less than eager to be with someone who actively seemed to like fighting and hunting, but as long as he didn't get dragged into any trouble, he didn't care so much.
His gaze shifts a bit.
"Why would you go looking for trouble?"
Cathal huffs, “One, no I haven’t been completely alone. I got teddy about a year ago when he was a puppy.” He huffs, “And two, I’m not zombie hunting because I’m not crazy! If you decide to do that then don’t come back here.”
"Fine. I'll go myself. But you can't exactly stop me from coming back, kid. I'm honestly the best person to keep around. After all, you find very many people with grenades?" Trianna cuckles.
