Elody stood, shocked. What?!, she thought, noticeably relieved but terrified at the same time for her friend. “Could all the unusefuls come up to the stage?”, rang out the voice of the Mayor. Head hanging, Elody went up with the others, trying frantically to make contact with grace.

As Elody came to the stage Grace gave her hand a reassuring squeeze "It will be fine." she whispered.

(Like a bunch of challenges, everyone must die, or they keep doing more challenges. This excludes the useful.)

@blue_topaz

(K I’m back)

Elody stood stiff and straight-backed in a horizontal line with the 30 or so others who had been deemed unusefuls, trying not to look at her poor mother’s desperate, teary eyes. “Unusefuls,”, Mayor Keathe began, making everyone in the plaza tense up. “Since you have not proved yourselves by making any valuable contributions to society, you will all compete in the Trials, which would usually start tomorrow. How’re, due to some…”, she glanced at Grace, “new opportunities, the Trials will commence in two days.”

(@J.Magix, are you planning on Grace winning tomorrow or losing? Cuz I’d she lost she could choose to participate in the Trials instead of an immediate execution?)

(I'll figure it out, also everyone takes part so it's more "fun" to watch. If they don't think your doing your best they throw in someone you love.)

@blue_topaz

(Ok)

“You may all go.”, she said to the crowd and unusefuls. “Say goodbye to your families, and make sure to be back tomorrow for this girl’s,” she gestured to Grace, “challenges.”

Grace made her way to Elody's parents. "Mrs. Sutcliffe." She nodded hello.

@blue_topaz

(Just mrs. Elody m’s dad died when she was little)

Elody’s mother could barely speak through the tears as Elody wrapped her frail mum in a silent hug, kissing her forehead.

(Wanna just skip to tommirrow?)

(ya)
"Hey! A little tight!" Grace said to Samantha, her elder sister. "Come on you big baby, you have to look presentable." "It's about staying alive, not looking fancy-smanchy."
