First there were the earthquakes. Many of the Earth’s plates seemed to come to life at once, their shifting causing the Earth’s land to rip apart. The earthquakes triggered tsunamis and volcanos. This caused all technology to fail. Then came the plague. A deadly new form of the flu was transmitted from birds to humans. It could be spread though constant contact and the contact of an infecteds blood or other bodily fluids. Symptoms include- fever, cold sweats, vomiting blood, delusions, and a change in behavior (that usually makes a person violent). Earth’s 7.6 billion population was taken down to around 1 million, and the number is still quickly dropping.
Hello, all! Our characters will be survivors of all of these plagues, living in an apocalyptic world. It is every man/woman for themselves in this world. Our characters will meet and do thier best to survive in this Apocalyptic future.

Personality: Has a bit of anger issues, but can end up being a trusted ally as long as you don't give her a reason to hate or mistrust you. She can get very protective but impatient. Can be a bit sassy.
Talents: Cooking, singing, though she doesn't reveal the former simply because she thinks it's too girly.
Weaknesses: She can be quite stubborn and uncooperative at times, can be judgemental too quickly, a bit prideful
Background: Her family were drowned in a tsunami. She was barely able to survive, the only reason being the fact she was dragged away from the storm, a close family friend, lying that they were probably safe. Shortly after, the only person she knew fell ill and died.

Personality: Extroverted, friendly, helpful, a bit of a goof/dope, sweet, affectionate, very loyal, loving, gentle, generous, compassionate, doesn’t do too well under pressure.
Talents: Talking his way out of a situation, can play guitar (but he hasn’t since the disasters), a good runner (did cross country in high school and college).
Weaknesses: He’s a lover and definitely not a fighter, tends to trust people too easily.

Personality: Quiet but mostly because he's usually sad and doesn't want to let on about it, tends to push others away when he needs help, used to working alone but doesn't necessarily hate working with others, tries to be kind though he can come across as cold, detail-oriented
Talents: Cooking, sewing and other clothing repair, base knowledge of first aid, overall good problem-solving skills
Weaknesses: Lack of trust in other people
Background: Middle child in a family with 3 brothers, about halfway through college (political science major, interested in law) when the apocalypse started up. His younger brother and mother were lost in the earthquake, his dad drowned in a tsunami, and both he and his older brother came down with the plague. He survived the illness by some miracle but suffered permanent damage to his hearing. However, his brother got sick after caring for him, and died quickly. Seneca has some degree of survivor's guilt as a result, as he believes he got his brother sick, and that it's his fault he died.
Other: Hard of hearing (about half hearing left in both ears), can speak perfectly normally, but also knows ASL and appreciates it when people make an effort to speak to him that way
(Quick question: can you live through being infected?)
(It is extremely rare, but if a person had a form of the flu (whether it was the normal one or the swine flu), then there is a better chance that they will survive. People who didn’t have those illnesses before had little to no chance of surviving, because their immune systems weren’t as developed to fight it off.)
(Okay, so can I make my character a survivor, but it had very negative effects on his body? Like maybe instead of the whole "missing his glasses" thing, he can be extremely hard of hearing?)
