“No, I’m just going the same place you are,” Avantika said, glancing up at him. Tall. Someone ran into her roughly and she stumbled, her hood almost falling off. Quickly she redid it, making sure it was tightened. Can’t cause a panic here.
"sorry," he apologized and kept walking farther into the building
By the time she reached the top levels, her arms and legs were burning. She dragged herself onto another window ledge and looked inside. No one was there. Glancing back at the ground a fair distance below, Kera crouched and slid a flat piece of metal under the window opening so the lock clicked open. She reactivated her com device.
"I've reached the access point."
'Good. Alarms are disabled. And Kera…'
"What?"
'Follow the plan.'
She rolled her eyes and edged the window open, slipping inside.
Crys flew into the building she followed the girl to she quickly perched herself above a window.
"The ship?" Ekon asked glaring at the person who ran into her, "In that case Miss, sick close to me, there are quite a few pickpockets around." He continued walking to the ship and glanced down at her every once in a while.
Avantika laughed softly. “You don’t have to call me Miss, right?” she said, eyes dancing. “And I don’t worry about pickpockets; I have nothing to steal.” Avantika added, voice light.
"Is M'lady better?" He asked, trying and failing to hide a small smirk. "The pickpockets here will take anything you have, no matter how small or insignificant it is." He reached the ship and nodded to her quickly, walking up the plank to the ship and setting the box down before coming back down to her.
Kera made her way to the back of the giant room, ignoring the clutter. She threw another window open and unraveled a rope which she let fall all the way down to the bottom where shadowy figures had slipped past the guards. They began climbing and Kera's mouth twitched as excitement spiked through her body. She looked down the long staircase and began making her way down, distorting her form to blend into her surroundings.
“How about my name?” Avantika said with a grin. She liked talking to the angel; their small banter was somehow relaxing. She hadn’t had a conversation like this in a long time.
Ekon smiled and shrugged "That would work too, except I don't know what your name is," He raised an eyebrow and nodded slightly. "I'm Ekon," Another person ran into him and he sighed, shaking his head slightly before stepping out of the way of another worker, standing closer to the woman to try to stop people from running into her.
Avantika noticed Ekon shifted closer to her, but decided not to comment on it. “And I’m Avantika.” she said, returning the smile. What interesting names we both have. Ekon wasn’t a common name, since she hadn’t heard it anywhere before. Quite like hers. She had no idea what was running through her mother’s mind when she chose her name.
"That's a beautiful name," He replied, making his way to the pile of boxes at the start of the dock. He grabbed one quickly and smiled at Avantika, "Though it is quite a long name." His wings fluttered slightly on his back and he rolled his neck, itching to fly.
(I'm gonna have to drop out of this. I'm just way to far behind.)
“Thank you. And yes it is, I guess my mother liked exotic things.” Including my father. Avantika plopped on a crate, swinging her legs back and forth. Her eyes caught his wings fluttering, and she couldn’t resist asking about them. “Can you fly with those things?” she said, pointing at the wings.
Rowan looked around the building, making his way to the roof. Finding it completely abandoned, he sighed and started to walk along, wondering if anyone was up there
(That's a shame. You sure though? It is still only the start)
(Well I'm on vacation, so I won't be in for a while and you'll just keep going ahead so I'll be more behind.)
He chuckled slightly "Yes I can fly, it's really fun." He stepped out of the way of the crowds before opening his wings fully and stretching them out. He folded them back in quickly and smiled at the ground "Working for so long on the ground is tiring and every so often I just need to fly, right now for example."
(I see, well thanks for the initial interest!)
Her ears twitched when a different voice crackled to life.
'What's going on boss? Where're you going?'
"Just do your job. I'm doing mine."
She heard movement on the other end as they began taking anything valuable.
'Yes, ma'am.'
Going down was faster than going up and she found herself on the busier floors in moments. She flicked a hand and her form shifted into a human wearing the same uniform as everyone around her. Kera pretended to look busy as she wandered to the giant cement pillars holding the place together. She attached tiny objects to them as she passed and then left the building.
'Job's done, boss.'
"Good get out of there in ten seconds."
'Huh? Why?'
"You're not paid to ask questions."
The seconds ticked by and Kera repressed a smirk as she walked away, pressing a button. The warehouse exploded behind her.
Avantika popped up from the crate she was sitting on and walked over to Ekon, looking at his wings. They were an interesting color- almost like they were semi dipped in silver. “How far up can you fly?” she asked.
Ekon shrugged "I don't really know, I tend to stay just over the trees or buildings but I think I can go really high." He folded one of his wings in and reached over his shoulder to smooth a feather down before pulling the wing back in "Wings are a pain at times, they are in the way and very difficult to get jackets that fit around them, but they are also super warm in the winter and they are almost like a rain coat if I pull them tight enough around myself."
“Really? I wish I had wings.” All I got is stupid half demon blood. Tentativly, she reached out a hand, silently asking if she could touch then.
"You can touch them. Maybe I can take you flying later?" He opened his wings up slightly and smiled softly at Avantika. The dock was still crowded and he watched carefully to make sure no one was going to run into either one of them or try to pull feathers from his wings.
