(SORRY I THOUGHT u LEFT)
(Yeah I did but I check from time to time so…)
(ok im here now.)
(Okay.)
Silene threw her sunglasses into the car seat. "So you are hiding something."
She felt fear radiating off Sammi. "Is something bad going to happen?" Silene looked at him worriedly.
"No… of course not!" he said, unable to meet her eyes.
"Don't lie to me, Sammi!" Her voice broke. "I know you're lying." She hugged her arms
"Um…" He didn't know what to do. "Just… I can't tell you, okay?"
Silene inhaled deeply, trying to calm down.
"You know what?" She said, walking to the driver's side of her car.
"Fine. I'll find out one way or another." She climbed inside and started the engine.
"Confess some sins." Silene put her sunglasses on and began to drive away.
"Wait, stop!" he shouted after her. "I uh… just be careful, will you?"
Silene stopped the car and reversed so she was closer to Sammi.
"You said, it's nothing I should know." She said quietly.
Silene pinched the bridge of her nose. "Now I know."
Sammi was silent. She was right.
"Oh god." Silene barely whispered. She put the car in park and stepped out. "Let's go," She said, gesturing to the inside of the church.
He said nothing, but followed her back inside.
Silene walked down the aisle and sat in one of the rows. "Don't you think It's funny?" She sighed and stared at the giant cross at the back of the podium. "Our world isn't even real, and I still believe in god."
"Maybe that's because you're supposed to."
"Because the writer made me like this?"
"I suppose that's one reason," he said. "But maybe it's because there is a god."
Silene laughed quietly. "And he cares about all the comic book characters in the world."
"Maybe he knows that we're people too."
"Maybe." Silene inhaled deeply and looked at Sammi. "Do you know how long I have?"
"No and if I did, I wouldn't tell you," he said.
"Okay." She sighed.
"Do you know how bad it's going to be?"
His eyes darkened. "Not exactly."
Silene swallowed hard. "Is anyone else going to be hurt?"
