(Should we start?)
(Yes! And congrats on being the 1001st post!)
(confetti YAAAAAAAAY)
Ferran jolted awake. Alice! He sat up and looked around the room, grimacing. Alice?
(Is he in his room or downstairs or what?)
(Downstairs on the couch)
(Right.)
Alice woke up a moment after Ferran and realized with a start that her arm was around his shoulders. (Assuming they're sitting on the same couch.) She moved it away, blushing. "Good morning…"
"Mornin!" He smiled at her. "How'd you sleep?"
She made a whining noise. "Sleeping upright doesn't really work for me."
He rubbed her back a little. "That's to bad…"
She smiled a little. (When're the police coming?)
(I don't know prolly soon.)
(How should I do this? Knock on the door or lights outside the window?)
(Well why are the police there? I mean, if the police don't know that Alice and Ferran were there, and thought the house empty, they prolly wouldn't knock on the door, would they?)
(True…how about the family came home early?)
(Okay, you want to do that?)
(Uh…I'm doin the police soo…could you?)
(Yup!)
Alice jumped a little. "Did you hear that?" she asked, eyes wide.
Ferran listened. "Oh no…."
"Come on," she said, pulling on his arm. "We need to go."
"Ow." He grunted. He stood up and stumbled after her.
But it was too late. The front door opened, and a middle-aged man walked into the foyer. Alice pulled Ferran around the corner. "The back door!" she whispered.
Right. Ferran clutched his arm. You go, I'll make too much noise.
I'm not going to leave you here!
Do you have a choice? He looked her in the eye. Go, I'll distract them.
A woman entered the foyer, presumably the man's wife. Alice looked around the corner but ducked out of sight before they could see her. She squeezed her eyes shut then, letting go of Ferran's arm, ran silently to the back door.
