(OK,) Joan quickly landed in a tree and turned toward Nash, "Are you ok? That was a bad idea. I'm s-sorry." Joan picture what exactly could have happened, "I won't do that ever again."
Nathaniel hadn't let go of Joan, still terrified. He'd probably never learn to fly. At least not like that. He was terrible under pressure. He tried to say something along the lines of "it's fine", but his voice just faltered and squeaked, fading away.
Joan turned Nash into herself and held onto him, whispering reassurances quietly. After an hour or two Joan needed to get moving. "Are you willing to hold on again? I told Will I'd help him find Patch."
He nodded weakly, preparing himself to be yanked into the sky. He hoped that the experience didn't give him a fear of heights. That would definitely be unfortunate if he were to ever learn how to fly.
Joan slowly lifted up, soaring fast. SHe glided low, effortlessly. It only took twenty minutes to reach the fountain of youth. As soon as she begun to hover people were throwing rocks and other things at her. "You have to jump the other two feet, ready?" Joan asked, ready to drop him.
"Y-yes ma'am." He prepared himself to land, trying to ignore the others' taunts and jeers.
Joan dropped him, before she did however, "I just put a tracker on your wing, similar to the one Will had put on mine. If you need me, press it. M'kay?" She had a watch on that would track it, a paired model.
Nathaniel nodded to show he had heard and landed as smoothly as he could with shaking legs. He was barraged with questions. He stepped back nervously, some of the others asking whether he was turning into a fallen by hanging out with Joan. "She's not bad at all!" He had finally had enough. "Who are you to judge her based on who her parents are? Surely some of you aren't proud of your parents! Just because her father is Lucifer doesn't mean that she has to be evil!" He had adrenaline pumping through his veins, and he completely forgot that Joan was even there. The other angels just stared at him in silent shock for a solid minute. Nathaniel had never burst out like that before.
Joan had tears in her eyes before she flew away. That wasn't the end of it, she knew it. Everyone would want to know everything. But he did it, he stood up, and Joan had never been prouder.
After a bit, people continued bombarding him with questions. He ran away, dashing towards his house and slamming the door once he was inside. His eyes were brimming with tears, but he ignored them. He felt proud of himself, but also terrified. He knew stepping outside his house again would be difficult. His parents came downstairs and confronted him, his father immediately slapping him after he told the night's events. Tears fell from his eyes, but he stayed silent. He probably deserved it. He had been disobedient, and he had disappointed his parents. He ran up to Lloyd's old room and cried. His deceased brother's room was a safe place for him. It held memories, and his parents rarely entered it. They still believed it was at least partially Nathaniel's fault that his older brother had died.
Joan flew for an hour back to the hotel. "Will," She called out.
(I gtg to bed now, I'm probably not too significant in the rp atm anyways. Might find a way to bring him back in tho)
(That's a sad backstory Nash)
(Yep I have a death scene planned out and everything)
(Nice. Your a big character, important completely, and good night)
(WILL, IF YOUR HERE, ANSWER!!)
Nathaniel stayed in Lloyd's room for a while to calm himself down, looking at the dusty pictures on the shelves. He brushed off his favorite, one of him and Lloyd flying together. He sighed in a melancholy way. He had been much younger then; the picture had obviously been taken before he injured his wings. It had also been taken the day before Lloyd's death. He had mixed feelings about it of course, but still, he looked at it every time he entered this room. Eventually he heard the sound of a plate being set outside the room. His parents had brought him food, knowing he wouldn't want to leave for a while. He smiled softly, glad that they still cared enough about him to allow him to stay.
"Will," Joan yelled again, worried. He was supposed to stay here, Joan thought. She was timid at the idea of him deserting the hotel. "Will?!" She tried again.
(What sort of thing do you think Nathaniel would need Joan for? People being like what's wrong with u bro we don't like you and trying to shove him off the clouds or what?)
(Like someone seeing them together and wanting to make her pay through you. So they try to kidnap you, or attempt, or whatever. Or like Nash's parents hand him over to someone for money or something because he was seen with Lucifer's daughter, maybe? you decide)
(Ooooh, dramatic. I don't think his parents would sell him, whether they blame him for Lloyd's death or not. It's not really the 'angel' way of doing things, if you get what I'm saying. Kidnapping is interesting though, got any good random side characters who would be a good candidate? It'd obviously have to be someone who could actually get into heaven to kidnap him, perhaps a shapeshifter who can look like an angel? Or just a disapproving angel?)
(A disapproving angel would really make things interesting, maybe one who got out of being a fallen somehow. Maybe related to, like, Will or something? Try that)
(Oooh, yeah. Like a long lost… cousin. Or something. Idk, we can make it work.)
(Yeah, that would totally move the story into a interesting direction. But make it someone with acess to your house and the street. Maybe, a parent's friend?)
Nathaniel didn't eat much of his food, not feeling very hungry. He left the room, and in turn the house, after he knew his parents were out. It was fairly late, so few people were out. He spotted a silhouette of another angel in the distance, but didn't pay it much mind. He sat down cross-legged on the clouds, watching the sunset. He didn't hear the stranger coming up behind him.
