"I-it doesn't matter to me. You still need me to go shopping though, right?" He tried to keep his responses fairly short, hoping that he wouldn't get sick
(Bye)
(Ok, bye, will you be back later?) "Uh, I can't go shopping at night. I have to be checked into the hotel so my dad isn't freaking out." 19, and still being patrolled by her parent. "Come on, I'll get you ice cream." Joan started walking toward the roof exit.
"Okay." They landed and Nathaniel swayed a bit on his feet before steadying himself. "Ugh… I'm going to have to get used to that, huh?"
"Nah, you'll be able to fly on your own, at your own pace soon enough." Joan didn't think Nash would have too hard of a time learning.
He nodded and followed Joan, taking in the surroundings. This place was definitely different from the other. For one thing, there were considerably less people, which Nathaniel didn't mind too much. No one to point out his wings or ask if he was a prisoner
Joan remembered Nash had never been here before, begin to give him insight. "The hotel was made just after WW2 ended, humans begin to realize that people like us exist. Almost every town has a hotel similar to this, its a automatic place to go for most. I've got enough on me to give us two different rooms and a dinner, with a treat." Joan thought it over, "We could get a room with two different beds so you aren't all by yourself, if you want."
"That's fine." He said calmly. He didn't want to admit that he would be terrified to be alone, but she probably already knew that from the… experience… in the woods. When Will and her abandoned him. That's the one.
"Ok, well…" Joan turned around to face Nash. "You have to tell me if your afraid, or upset, or indecive. I won't be able to guess. Ok?" Joan searched his face for negative emotions.
"Yes, ma'am." It took him a couple seconds to realize his mistake. "Sorry! Joan! I keep forgetting."
"Don't worry, if you want to call me Ma'am go ahead." Joan was curious as to who stomped that habit into him. The elevator opens on the lobby, and Joan walks to the front desk. "I want a room with two different beds, I want servers to bring our orders directly to our room." She became assertive in her tone. "Here's the necessary payment," Joan hands the money to the counter, "Put it under Joan Morgenstern." Fear filled the womans face. "Now." Joan snapped.
Nathaniel stood next to Joan, looking apologetically at the woman behind the desk, hoping to silently apologize for Joan's rudeness. He hoped that the woman didn't just think he looked scared. That might cause some problems…
Joan softened her voice before saying, "Come on Nash, lets go." After snatching the key to room 522, third floor. It wasn't until she was on the third floor that she said, "I'm sorry for my tone in the lobby. I just need to keep my reputation up front, or I lose respect. Sorry," Joan apologises, ready for a brash reaction.
"I understand." His brother had said a similar thing before going into battle. Nathaniel had always begged him to stay, fearing for his safety, but Lloyd went anyways. It had cost him dearly.
Joan's surprise swamped her face as she stepped into the room. "You want coco and ice cream? I'll ring it up. Or, do you need me to talk you back? I'm worried your parents might freak out."
Nathaniel shook his head. "It's fine. I can go back in the morning."
"Ok," Joan brushed it off. "Well, you want the sweets?" She brisled her wings, sat on the far bed, took off the back pack, before pulling up the phone and sending him a quizzeling look.
"Oh! Um, sure. Do you want some of these chocolate things?" He held up the strawberry filled chocolates. "There's no way I could eat them all."
(I've got to go, won't be back again today. See you tomorrow)
(Goodnight, I have to go too anyways ^^)
(I didn't mind reading 300 pages of words.) (Jk. This is amazing!)
Faray was tired of danged Hellhounds. Hearing them, he sighed and slipped through the shadows outside a truck, only to find himself face first with a pair of snarling jaws. Drawing his sword, he decapitated the beast in a fluid motion. Running alongside the vehicle, Faray dispatched the hounds, focused on the hunt as they were, it wasn't difficult. Knocking on the tinted window, he waits. Hopefully whoever is inside will know that Hellhounds don't knock.
(Assuming @shinsleepy is still in the truck)
Will was left alone to search for Patch. Without his wings, it would take hours to search the whole forest. "Patch." He called hopelessly. Will ran back to his house and opened the door. He saw two mortal girls sitting on his couch. He cleared his throat, "um. Whatcha girls doing in my house?" The girls stood up and both their faces showed fear. One of them spoke quietly to the other, "oh God. We're gonna die." Will heard her say that and stepped aside so that the door was unblocked. "Leave." He said.
"No thanks. If you want you can give some to the woman in the lobby to apologize." Joan called the front desk and ordered his coco. Joan then pulled a map out of her backpack, "Hey Nash, where's your house?" She asked it quietly. "So I can drop you off in the morning, of course," Joan tagged on strangely.
She scanned the room. The beds were both queen sized with a purple and blue crystal pattern. The walls were a reddish-orange color; occasional pictures of old landscapes dotted the scenery. A sky blue rug filled the floor, running under both beds. They was a deep oak stand against the far wall, alarm clock resting on top. Around the corner was a bathroom, with a peach theme. Diagonally to that was a walk in closet, fully equipped with many different business attire. They even had a wide view, Joan noticed, the window had stained glass rising and fading in different colors until it reached the middle, where the last of them died out. Behind the jade themed curtains- and detailed window- was the picture of a bustling city. Life sparking in every corner.
