"He?" Joan was uneasy about the fallen night, as her father hated her out too late. "Uh, how far is the drive?" She looked toward Nash, "Are you alright staying with me tonight, or is there somewhere you have to go before dark?"
"He?" Joan was uneasy about the fallen night, as her father hated her out too late. "Uh, how far is the drive?" She looked toward Nash, "Are you alright staying with me tonight, or is there somewhere you have to go before dark?"
"It's not too far. I've got an apartment in town too if you need a place to stay for a bit. I'm sure my roommate won't mind."
"That's fine, it's not really like I'm able to get back anyways." He laughed weakly. "I'm sure my parents won't worry too much… I do wander sometimes."
"I can get us a suit at the Angel/Demon hotel, so no need. Thanks though." Joan pulled a backpack out of a pocket realm. Fixing it over her wings.
"Ok, well, are you lying to me?" Joan didn't think any parent would do that, unless something else was going on.
Pluto frowned. "You sure you're just lost kid?"
Nathaniel shook his head. "You'd know. I'm a terrible liar. I just like to wander around in the sky after dark to see the stars. They may think something's up by morning though."
"Thanks." Joan caught the key. "Drop by around noon, we'll all hangout. Oh, and Nash, I still think that's strange."
"Ok, well you make your mind up about where you're going. We've got about 12 hours till sunrise obviously, so…oh no." A low growling started to sound from outside the truck
Joan pushed Nash behind her, "What's that, Pluto?" Joan flared her scarred wings.
"My family's fine. Except Lloyd…" He looked for the source of the sound. "What was that?"
"PLuto??" Joan near shouted alarmed.
"Alrighty, we aren't sticking around because I don't even wanna guess what that was. Please fasten your seat belts and pray to whatever because I'm gunning it." The truck jolted, and they were suddenly speeding down the dirt road, headlights suddenly flickering. "Crap, crap, forgot to get gas," she muttered
Nathaniel held onto his seat belt for dear life, thrown back by the force of the truck speeding forward
"Alright! Thats it!" Joan grabbed Nash and pulled him out of the car. "We're flying away!" Joan picked him up, pulled him to her side, and flew.
"This seems dangero- Ah!" Nathaniel clung to Joan. If he fell, he was a goner. Even if his wings were fixed at this point, he didn't know how to fly. His heart raced as they gathered height and speed
The growling turned to full on barking. "You friggin hellhounds better get off my tail, or I-Oh my GOD that is IT! I'm coming back later to take the heads off all these-" she shouted as a hellhound tried to jump onto the pickup and slipped, scratching the paint. "Ow, ow, ok, less murder more focus." She held her head with one hand as she drove
Joan sat them on a high branch. "You ok?" Joan saw Nash's terrified face, reaching for his shoulder, "Hey, you ok?"
"Yeah… Yeah I'm okay. Just give me a sec for my heart to slow down." He sat down on the branch, running his fingers through his hair anxiously
"I'm gonna fly us to the next town, hold on to my side." Joan stood up, ready to fly.
"Wait wait wait don't do that! It won't work in the truck, don't!"
Nathaniel gulped and prepared himself to be yanked into the sky
(I'm confused, were not in the car anymore. I thought only Pluto is?)
(Wait I thought we were still driving? I mean whichever is fine)
Joan grabbed a hold of Nash, and flew. Her grey, scaled, horned wings flew beautifully, pulling them higher and higher. Faster and faster. Soaring over the dark forest, landing clumsy onto the roof of the hotel. "Ready to go in? Or do you want me to fly you to your home?" (I'm already flying so…)
