Sitting alone at the edge of a park, Thatcher could not but feel he was being watched. He sat here every day, doing 'who know what', and no one really noticed him, but something was off this afternoon.
(This is where Thatcher is)
Tera silently flew to the park, surprised someone else was there. She landed anyway and tried not to be noticed, thinking they could be a perfect. She sneaked around on the ground, trying to find a place where she could be alone. She accidentally flapped her wings, sending a gust of air around the park. She stopped moving, hoping the person there wouldn't look behind them and see her.
"True…" Lucas jumped when he heard the sudden sound. "W-What was that? Was it a perfect? Or just the wind?"
“I can’t tell.”
Lucas whimpered and slid back against the tree again. He felt as though it had betrayed him, but it would protect him from any passing perfects. "Who's there? Um, a-anyone?" He glanced around nervously.
Tera stood where she was, not moving when she heard the voices murmuring about something. When she heard someone ask, "Who's there?" Tera sighed, someone knew she was there. She assumed they were perfects, so she might as well act the part, "Uh, h-hi," she said sheepishly to the voice.
Oh, frick, there's someone there. Lucas's heart pounded. "Are you a perfect?" He stuttered fearfully, glancing over at Aaliyah.
"A-a-a-aa, yyeeeaaah…." Tera said in the most unconvincing voice ever, "….How about you?"
Aaliyah had panic written across her face.
Lying. Or not? Should I risk it? "….er… n-no." He decided against lying. He was the worst liar on the face of the planet anyways.
"Oh, thank goodness!" Tera sighed in relief.
"W-What? You're… you're not going to hurt me?" Lucas cowered behind the tree. Why would I tell her that? Why couldn't I just lie? Because you're garbage at it.
"What?! Why would I-" Tera put her hand on her forehead, "Ah, that's right! Well, to be honest, I'm not a perfect," Tera admitted, "I thought you were, so I lied."
"Really?" Lucas looked around the side of the tree, ears turned back.
"Yeah," Tera nodded and saw the small boy from behind a tree. She folded her wings back and ruffled her feathers like she did when she was nervous.
Well, she seems… imperfect enough… Eloquently put, as always. Shut up! He stood up, but stayed behind the tree with his tail between his legs. Imperfect or otherwise, I still don't know her. Best be cautious.
"So, um, yeah. I guess I'll just… uh, yeah, sorry for interrupting you," Tera said and started to back away, still facing the tree… just in case.
