Lucas was dozing underneath a large willow tree, ears drooping. He liked to sit under here to get away from all the people for a while. Being imperfect in a perfect world was stressful.
(Wait does Aaliyah already know Lucas?)
(Yes bc they have the same adopted father/father figure)
(xD)
Aaliyah fell out of the tree, literally. A yelp and a crash. But she landed on her feet and pooped down as if nothing happened. “Hey Lukey.”
Lucas jumped, startled. He yipped a bit in fear, hitting his head against the tree. "Oww! Aaliyah, don't do that! You know I scare easily…"
“I’m sorry. But I didn’t mean to fall out of a tree.” Aaliyah said, hugging her doll closely.
(http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Lucas this is basically my character btw lol if you want to know about his game and stuff. It's pretty tragic)
He rubbed his ears, sighing. "What were you doing up there, anyways?"
“Hiding.”
"From what?"
“Perfects.”
"But none of them are anywhere near here! Trust me, I've checked." Lucas looked around just in case.
Aaliyah smiled in relief and loosened her grip on her doll.
Lucas lay his head back against the tree, watching the willow's branches swaying in the wind. "It's hard, being imperfect in a perfect world… Isn't it?" He sighed, closing his eyes.
“Yeah…” Aaliyah said sadly, looking up at the swooshing branches.
"People exhaust me. I come here to… recharge, if you will."
“Well now you can run away from everyone but one.”
"Yes. You really don't like to leave me alone, do you?" He stretched and yawned, his ears turning back a bit.
“I’ll never leave you alone.” Aaliyah chirped.
"Lovely." Lucas commented with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "You know, sometimes I wonder whether we're in the wrong bodies. Because I'm definitely more like a cat, and you a dog."
“I guess…” Aaliyah said, laying down and playing with the blades of grass.
"Cats are more secluded, and… I dunno, introverted. Dogs are usually social, extroverted creatures."
“I see.” Aaliyah said, somehow braiding the blades of grass, “But no matter what, the cat won’t be secluded because the dog will always be there.”
"The dog never leaves the cat alone." Lucas smiled softly, picking a small flower and examining it.
