Jackie surreptitiously shook her head at Bella.
Jackie surreptitiously shook her head at Bella.
Arabella watched Jackie, confused. "What?" she asked.
She forced fear into her face. "They'll hurt you," she breathed to Bella.
Haven lowered the gun, but still held on to Jackie tightly.
Vaughn gripped onto his gun, his jaw tensed. “You will tell your people to let us go, and maybe we won’t kill this woman. She seems to be important to you, yes?”
She pulled Jackie back behind them and turned around quickly, tying her up with loose wires.
"I tell My people to keep you in there for less than we were going to, and you don't kill her. Do we have a deal?" She asked, crossing her arms, eyes flickering from the man to Jackie.
“Oh don’t lie,” she scoffed. “He”’s a wanted murderer - you would’ve had him executed.”
Vaughn’s jaw clenched, his thoughts drifting elsewhere for a moment. Murderer. No, that isn’t what he is. He was a hero. He helped families by getting rid of those savages harming them.
Bella thought for a moment. "How about we DON'T kill him, and keep you in there for a while, not forever. Then you don't kill her."
“I’m not going back there,” Vaughn hissed, grey eyes sharp.
“You don’t make that decision,” she said, eyes darting around. “The President gives the kill order.”
(The President is an idiot.)
Bella was starting to get angry. "Listen. I can tell the President that he should stay in there for a few months instead of killing him. I will be able to suck up to him to make that possible."
(The President is an idiot.)

She glanced at Vaughn. “I won’t kill her. But you’re not taking either of us back there.”
"Let her go, and we can continue to talk." She snarled.
Vaughn nodded in agreement to what she said. In the moment, his eyes seemed to be frightened, like a child’s, despite the fact his face was emotionless.
She glanced at Vaughn, then hastily kicked at the wires tying Jackie up. She got them loose after a moment, then moved over a little.
Vaughn watched the other woman, the negotiating one, closely. He didn’t trust her. He didn’t trust her pointless promisses that he would be let out. They lied. They all lied.
Haven was equally untrusting, gun raised.
"what do you guys want out of this?" She asked, pulling Jackie towards her.
“We already told you what we wanted. We want to leave here,” Vaughn responded quickly.
She thought for a moment, glancing towards Jackie. "If I let you guys go right now I could lose my job. If I were to bring you back for a day, ONE!" She said seeing their faces, "Then maybe you would 'break out', and You would be gone and I would keep my job. All you have to do is get back in the cell, I will deal with the rest."
Vaughn frowned slightly, his body tensed as he considered it. “I don’t trust you..”
Her eyes pleaded with him, the sincerity in her voice showing now. "I promise you can trust me."
