Lexath was back to their book. I don't think they even knew that their curse had been put into action, that was the real curse of it all. They didn't know when it happened.
Lexath was back to their book. I don't think they even knew that their curse had been put into action, that was the real curse of it all. They didn't know when it happened.
After the rest of them had ordered, Romilly glanced up to the waitress, “Strawberry milkshake, please,” she grinned, “Like usual.”
(Has everyone ordered?)
(i think so)
"So…" Gavriel mumbled, not sure what they were supposed to do after ordering. He knew they were there to hang out and stuff but he didn't know how to really do that.
“Okay, I’ll be back with your food soon enough!” the waitress said cheerfully as she walked away.
“So how have you guys been faring so far? With the school and all,” Max added, picking up from Gavriel’s tangent.
Elizabeth clicked her pen anxiously, looking around. "Well enough," she muttered. At least she'd been on time to one of her classes.
Ezra wrapped his arms around himself again, mumbling, “There’s a lot of people. I’m.. I’m not used to it.” Being honest, Ezra’s thoughts were more preoccupied with when he’d go talk to Max alone about his curse. A part of him was prepping for the worst.
Lexath closed their book quietly and slipped it into their bag. *"I've been alright, I had to use text to voice on my phone for a lot of classes."
“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it eventually,” Max tried to comfort Ezra. “I know it can be hard at first, but if you need anything, I’ve got your back. Same goes for you, Elizabeth and Lexath. And all of you, actually. If you need anything, I’m your man.”
Ezra smiled for a second before quickly forcing himself to have a blank face. No smiles, no kindness, no nothing, I can’t keep forgetting that each thing I do could lead to someone’s pain… He wanted to add a ‘thank you’ too, but made himself keep quiet so he wouldn’t accidentally hurt Max.
Elizabeth winced. "That's, um… nice," she said quietly. Not that she was ever going to ask for help again. She had absolutely no knowledge to give in return, it'd be stupid.
“So do any of you have a favorite subject?” Max asked them. He was trying so hard to talk to them, but they seemed to be a pretty antisocial bunch.
(Sorry I got wicked sick so I was a little inactive)
“I really like art! I wish I had it longer than one quarter though,” she says smiling wide.
(it’s fine, i hope that you’re feeling better!)
“Art is so fun,” Max agreed. “What professor did you get? There’s two art professors: Professor Quinney and Professor Cole. Professor Cole is the absolute worst, at least that’s the rumor. I had Quinney.”
“I have professor Quinney! She seems really cool!” She said her leg bouncing slightly under the table.
“Yeah, she is,” Max replied with a smile. “She’s funny, but she is a little bit crazy sometimes.”
Ava nodded. “Some of the kids in my class don’t seem to like her because of that but i like her!” She says rambling slightly.
“Yeah I thought it made her more interesting,” Max agreed. “At least she wasn’t like old Professor Gray. He left last year, but he must’ve been like ninety-two and he was soooo boring…” He looked at Romilly to see if she remembered that class.
"I think Professor Cole is wonderful, he is quiet and nice." They signed, the had art fourth period.
"I agree," Gavriel said shyly, seeing what Lexath had signed. He didn't know much but paying attention in kindergarten paid off in some ways. He had Professor Cole for the second block and he wasn't as bad as the rumors had said that he would be.
"He knows a bit of sign and said he would try to learn more because I'm in his class." Lexath looked really happy that someone was going out of their way to help them.
Elizabeth nodded in agreement. Cole had been her favorite teacher so far, mainly because he hadn't made the class introduce themselves. It was pleasant to have a teacher who wasn't an absolute social butterfly. "That's great for you," she signed quickly, not wanting to draw too much attention to herself. She was fairly confident in her signing skills, but not confident enough to be "loud" about it.
Ezra looked out the window and fidgeted with his hands in his lap as he waited for the shakes to get done. He honestly hadn’t expected this to happen to him… Maybe that was why he was delaying when he’d talk to Max about his curse.. Maybe just at the end of the night, I’ll talk to him before we part ways. He glanced over at Ava. Maybe he should tell her about his curse too, so she isn’t nice to him either.
Ava smiled and looked around the table. Her leg still bouncing as she waited for her shake. She was debating on telling them about her curse. They all seemed nice and it might be easier to avoid it if people knew. But what if someone does use it against her?
“Huh, I never thought of that,” Max replied to the conversation about Professor Cole. “It’s actually nice to hear a differing opinion.” Then he paused, taking a breath. “So I’m going to tell you all this now so you don’t freak out when I go missing in two days,” he said, more seriously. “My curse is that I was bitten by a werewolf, so every full moon I become a wolf. You know, just like every cliche fantasy book ever. So yeah. I won’t be around in two days, but I’ll be back again the day after.”
