"I have absolutely no idea. I've thought about it but still don't know. Um, what about you?" Jay asked as he started swinging their arms in boredom.
"I have absolutely no idea. I've thought about it but still don't know. Um, what about you?" Jay asked as he started swinging their arms in boredom.
"Lately I've been thinking of doing something with music, but it's still a thought in progress. What kind of things did you think about?" Kale asked.
"Lots of things. though i wasn't completely sure."
"Am I allowed to know any?" Kale stopped walking before carefully crossing the road. "Despite knowing you for a good chunk of my life, there are still little details I don't know. I'd like to know more about you at some point."
"Well I thought about working with animals at one point."
"Really? Any particular reason? I didn't think you were an animal person."
"yeah. Animals are cool."
"What's your favorite animal?"
"cats are cool"
"Noted." They carried on walking, crossed a few more roads, and soon the other hospital could be seen in the distance. "We're almost there, do you think it would be wise to take him out when he hasn't been given an official discharge? It could make him worse."
"who says he isn't discharge yet?" Jay says to Kale.
"It's highly unlikely. They will have removed the bullet, applied a dressing, and possibly a compression device, but the wounds themselves can take up to six months to heal… I just feel like if he is moving too soon then it will do more damage, especially since the wound is in his leg."
"though they would probably not keep him for 6 months."
"No of course not, but the removal procedure was less than twelve hours ago. Hell, he could be knocked out under anesthetic and then there really is no hope of moving him."
"alright let's at least visit him."
They arrived at the hospital and asked the front desk if they could see Jordan Reed, explaining that they were his friends. As they were taken up to Jordan's room, Kale began to feel uneasy and held onto Jay's arm as well as his hand. "Sorry…" they whispered. "I get a bit nerved by hospitals…"
"it's ok. I understand" Jay told him comfortingly.
Finally they made it to Jordan's room and found him fast asleep in a bed, with a heart monitor beeping steadily at his side. "I wonder when he'll wake up… do we stay here until he does?" Kale asked Jay, not fully realizing they were still holding onto him.
"stay here till he wakes up I think."
Kale noticed an armchair beside the bed. "Do you want to sit down?"
"I'm good." Jay replies.
"How long do you think we'll have to wait for him?" Kale asked, resting their head on Jay's shoulder.
"no idea. I hope he wakes up soon."
Kale silently nodded, not sure of what else to do or say.
Jay didn't say anything else.
