"I think we should find Jordan."
"I think we should find Jordan."
"It's like you read my mind." Kale smiled, ruffling Jay's hair. "But how are we going to escape this place. We have only just arrived and I don't know enough to analyse the weak points."
"well you are not thinking are you." Jay said and shook his head. He walked in the opposite direction from where he was walking to a empty living room.
"Apparently not…" Kale mumbled, following after Jay.
Jay listened to the room and pointed to a window. The window he pointed at was open.
"There's an open window, yes. But here they actually let the kids go outside. That doesn't mean they won't get suspicious when two new kids decide to climb out of a window and walk down the road. Or am I reading too much into it again?"
"No I wasn't suggesting going out the window. Why not just walk out the front door?" Jay asked.
"The same principle applies doesn't it. I can't help but feel they would be a little suspicious of us walking out. Also…" Kale trailed off, rubbing their arm. "Never mind, I'm over thinking things. I mean we can try it your way."
"Yep. Where is the door?" He asked having no idea of the location.
"Around the corner, on the right…" Kale had no idea if they should be going through with it.
"What corner?" Jay asked.
"Come on." Kale took Jay's hand, leading him out of the room, walking around the corner until they were face to face with the front door. "It's right in front of us."
"Alright. Cool." Jay had no idea what to say.
"Screw it." Kale gripped Jay's hand tighter, glanced around, and took a deep breath as they opened the door and walked out. Kale was confused by how easy it was.
"Ok. Walk. I have no idea where we are going." Jay said to him as they walked out.
"Forceful much." Kale laughed. "Jordan was taken to a hospital, there are at least two in the area. One is about an hours walk away while the other is a twenty-five minute walk away… We'd better get started." Kale started walking down the road, glancing over their shoulder until they came onto a main road. Everything was different from how Kale remembered, but they could remember the way to both hospitals clearly. "We'll get him in no time, I'm sure of it."
"Yeah. I bet we will. But quick question will it look weird us walking holding hands?" Jay asked as they walked.
"Weird in what way? People do it all the time!" Kale bit their tongue before they said something that could be taken out of context.
"alright." Jay said and nodded.
Kale silently released a sigh of relief and continued walking. So many people were on the streets, despite it being the morning, and Kale almost felt out of place walking among other citizens. After turning down multiple roads, they finally reached one of the hospitals. Unfortunately, when Kale asked the front desk, there were no records of a Jordan Reed.
"You up for an hours leisurely stroll?" Kale muttered to Jay as they left the hospital. They had half hoped that Jordan would have been there.
Jordan was laying in a bed in a random room in the hospital. He was fast asleep under the blankets
"Yeah sure. How far exactly?" Jay asked.
"Around 84 meters, not too far." Kale laughed quietly. "And if you get tired I can always carry you. But knowing you, you'll say you'll be fine."
"84 meters isn't even very far. so I don't believe I need you to carry me." Jay said laughing a bit.
"What did I just say! Man I know you too well…" Kale shrugged, slowly walking next to Jay, still holding his hand. "Lets get serious for a minute, while we have time. What do you want to do when you grow up?"
