Alexander felt his phone buzz, and the second class got out he dug it from his pocket to send a reply. It was from the first person, who was supposedly the Caterpillar. ”I don’t know. It’s honestly kind of creepy. I think from someone in Wonderland, but I don’t know how that’s supposed to work. So what did you dream about last night?”
"don't trust me huh? Just know that its no joke. Joking about something such as this would be highly unnecessary. I'm the vanisher apparently, though you probably already know considering the note you also got. Anyway, I don't trust this computer. Find the guy with the bandaged hand….. then we'll talk. - Cat"
He sent it while he walked down the hall, sticking to the shadows of others as students scurried about. He quickly turned the corner, down to the library. It was empty and dim. Like usual….. nobody ever really used the library, so he's made it into his little hideaway. It worked perfectly since it was near the back of the school anyway. Though near all of the clubrooms which were always annoying to him.
Alexander checked his phone when he heard another ping, seeing the Cat had replied this time. ”I’m just trying to be careful. Anyway, I don’t know about you, but there seem to be a lot of people with some injury or another from sports at my school, but I don’t know anyone with a bandaged hand. -Rabbit” He decided to copy the other’s method of using his character’s name at the end of the message.
"I was in Wonderland in my dream. This is a dream I have been having for the past few weeks. I'm wandering around and I get a feeling like a need to run. So I did. When I was running I slipped and tumbled off a small cliff. I scraped my arm but I kept running. I woke up not long after and the scrape was still there. I also got a note telling me to find a rabbit hole and some people." Locke sent, trying to some up what his dream felt like. It was very hard to describe what the dream were like because of the hyper realistic feel of them.
Alexander heard the next notification as he slid into his seat in second hour and he hurriedly pulled out his phone to check under his desk. He adjusted his glasses and then wrote a hasty reply. ”Mine are similar. So what now?”
"We should try to find the others. The quicker we can find them the sooner we can got to Wonderland and fix the problem." Locke sent. What else did he expect them to do? Sit around?
After a several minutes in class, Alexander couldn’t stand it anymore and slipped the phone from his pocket to his hand, hiding the device behind his pencil case. ”Right, right. Duh. I don’t know how long of a trek it would be, though. I live in Hatchetville, PA.”
Alexander glanced up at his teacher before nervously returning his phone to his jeans pocket. He breathed a sigh of relief. She hadn’t noticed.
He found a little corner the had been cut off by huge bookshelves. He quickly climbed over the bookshelves. Then jumping down to the ground from the top, wincing as pressure was put on his palm. A ding in his phone distracts him from his wound. He looks at it as he slides down to the floor. It was the Rabbit apparently.
"Well just keep your eye out- Cat" he simply types, hitting send. He was a tad annoyed that he had copied him, but not much.
Alexander about jumped as he got another notification. Well that was fast, he thought, before realizing it was the other person. I’m just going to make a group message.
He put both of their usernames in and created a new group message with the two of them. ”Hi, I’m Alexander, the Rabbit. Both of you contacted me about my post so I made this message so we can all figure this out together instead of me messaging both of you separately. Since the letter said we need to meet, we should think of a time and place. I live in Hatchetville, PA, for reference.”
He sat back down on his back, laying his head down on his arms, stretched over his head when he got a ding
"Group message? So there's another one…..interesting"
He says to himself looking up at his phone. As he was typing, the phone had slipped out of his hand, hitting him on his face.
"Come on…really?" He says annoyed as he picks it up off if his face and starts typing once again.
"oh, well I've gotten a head start then. I also live there. - Cat"
Finally, second period ended for Alexander and he checked his messages to see that the Cat had responded. He also lived in Hatchetville? Alexander’s head was swimming with possibilities.
”No way! That should make things easier, then. What about you, Caterpillar?”
It would be a crazy coincidence if the other person also lived in Hatchetville. Alexander wondered if the Cat knew who he was, then, since there weren’t any other Alexanders at his school that he knew of.
Maddie had had a small ”attack” in her last class and was very thankful when it was over… both: the headache and the class, and couldn't stop herself from running out of the room. She paused for a moment to pull a thermos out of her school bag and took a long swallow from it. Catching her breath, she thought back to what she had seen and headed to the library. She knew someone was there and it was someone she needed to meet. She turned into a small corner and looked around. ”Hello? I know you're here and I’d like to meet you.” she called softly.
"I live there as well. Do you know anywhere we could meet in person to figure everything out?" Locke messaged once he realized he was now in a group chat.
”Isn’t there a park not too far from the public library? We could meet there.” Alexander sat down in his third class quickly, already anxious for it to end. If these guys both lived in Hatchetville, they might already know each other. Alexander cringed, hoping they didn’t think he was a dork.
Is that really all you can think about? he chided himself. More importantly, how does this thing work? And where are the other two people?
His head popped up as he heard the girl's voice. Instead of panic, a mischevious wide smile appeared on his face as he climbed the shelves. Now sitting on top of it, humming a sweet tune. Though completely out of sight.
"Why hello my dear" his soft voice echoed through the library as his eyes pierced the dim light of the room. The lights no longer worked, but that went in his favor.
Maddie jumped, looking around for the voice that seemed to come from nowhere. It took her a moment before she let out a mad cackle. ”So, you're the vanishing cat.” she giggled tilting her green fedora. ”Looking forward to a mad adventure?”

"Oh? I'm guessing you're the mad hatter" he says with a little laugh of his own. Running his fingers through his hair and biting his lip ring slightly. He jumped down the shelf, putting his hands in his pockets and stepped towards her. Coming into the less dim light.
"Nice to meet you. Say….how did you find me?" He purred, his eyes beaming at hers with delight.

She giggled walking closer to him, ”According to the note; I’m the seer. And that's how I found you, silly kitty.” She took off her hat with a flourish before putting it back. ”Name’s Maddie if you want to be friendly. What do we call you?”

"Chess, if you wil" He, says taking a bow, a slightly flirtatious smirk on his face.
"so….Seer, have you met up with the others?" He asks her walking to the corner where he was, about to climb the shelf, though he simply turned around and leaned on it, facing her.
Maddie raised a brow with an odd smile. ”Is that your real name or are you just playing homage to your feline counterpart? Come to think of it, my initials are M.H., the same as mine… Interesting…” she leaned against the wall next to the shelf Chess claimed. ”No, I haven't met anyone else yet. You're my first.”
