Maddie took a moment to regain her breath before looking at Loche. ”Should we wait for the rabbit or should we start looking for the cat? The silly kitty should already be here. And we can't go anywhere until we're all together.” Though she didn't always look it she could be pretty smart when she needed to.
Anna nodded. "I don't know. Maybe we should wait for the rabbit. Alexander. So he can find us when he gets here." She said, shrugging.
Alexander frowned as he glanced at his watch. He was definitely late now. He had finally arrived at the park, though. He looked around for someone who could possibly be the guy he had been messaging, Locke, when he noticed Maddie talking with two other kids.
He jogged over to them, slightly out of breath. “Hi everyone, I’m Alexander,” he introduced himself quickly. “Sorry I’m late.”
Kai was scrolling through his music library, he had a thinking playlist buried somewhere in there. Are the injuries just from rolling around in my sleep? Is it all just a dream?
Locke looked up when Alexander came. He closed his book and stood up. "Now that out Rabbit is here we can find the Vanisher." Locke said. "Maddie do you know where they are?" He asked.
”Hi, bunny!” Maddie cheered seeing Alex approach. Her eyes widened for a moment when Locke addressed her. ”N-not really. I know that Cheshire is here but…” She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. ”I think I saw a tree. I don't really know how this works.” She tapped her temple to show what she meant by ”this”.
“I think it might be safe to assume they’re close to our age?” suggested Alexander. “So maybe we could look for someone who’s our age by a tree?”
"Maybe…" Anna mumbled, starting to walk. "Maybe they're…"
"That makes sense." Locke said nodding as he started to walk. He didn't care wether the other followed or not he just wanted to find the next person from the note.
Anna kept walking straight, almost in a sort of daze. "I think they might be this way…"
Alexander looked at her, slightly worried. “Are you okay?” he asked. He glanced at Locke. “Does she do this a lot?”
“Don’t know. I just met her.” Maddie shrugged, causing her backpack to bounce on her shoulders, following the girl. “Am I the only one that packed for this adventure?”
"Not usually. But then again I only have her in Honors English. By the looks of it though I think she might be leading to wheread the vanisher may be." Locke explained. "Or the Rabbit hole seeing that she is 'Alice'."
“Oh, right! The adventurer…” Alexander muttered. “So I’m assuming you’re Locke then?” he added, just to be sure. He glanced back at Maddie. “It looks like it.” What did she even pack?
Anna kept walking, stopping suddenly a few feet from the bench. "Um, guys? What just happened? I don't rember walking here…" Maybe I am losing it…
"You are correct. You already know our seer and our adventurer's name is Anna." Locke explained to him.
Alexander nodded and looked to Anna. “Well there’s a tree, so maybe…”
Anna looked at the tree, blinking. "So there is. Still not sure how I got here."
“Maybe it’s like when I “see” things. No idea how or when I will. I just do.” Maddie offered with a gentler variant of her usual smile.
Anna nodded. "I guess it's possible. Anyone see the vanisher, or did I snap out of it too soon?" She asked, looking around.
Kai hadn't looked up, his earbuds were in so he also couldn't hear anyone speak. His fingers tapped on thee edge of his phone to the beat playing in his ears.
“I see a kid who looks our age,” Alexander said, noticing Kai. “Should we approach him? Would that be totally weird?”
“HEY, CHESIRE!! WHERE ARE YOU, SILLY KITTY!!!” Maddie had her hands cupped around her mouth as she called out in a playful tone.
Alexander jumped. He glanced nervously around them, then back to Maddie. That was one way to get someone’s attention, he supposed.
