"Hate to disappoint! You really do seem like someone I'd like to impress." Eden snorted softly, uncertain of what to do. Her new friend didn't seem to be a threat, but he was very chatty. Did he want something from her? It was the strangest mugging she'd ever been a part of. He seemed completely relaxed, leaning against a wall and teasing her. Eden crossed her arms.

"Look, we really need to cut to the chase, I don't know about you, but I don't have all night. Wrap this up would you?"

@ScotchTapeWorm group

Eden rolled her eyes, glancing up at the sky as if asking some unknown God for strength. With a swift movement, she pulled out her own business card, glancing at it just slightly to make sure it wasn't the police officer's by mistake. The card was simple, basic even, with all the information layed out in nice even letters. It had an office number, office name, and address, along with some of the employees names listed on the back. She held it out to the stranger, looking both curious and bored.

"Here's my card. If you change your mind, or get into any.. Legal trouble." A slight smile. "Call this number and ask for Eden. I'll see what I can do for you."

@ScotchTapeWorm group

"Yes." She didn't beat around the bush. She was smart and had no qualms about telling people so. She watched him inspect her card and she felt a tiny beat of satisfaction.

"Halliday & Halliday. I know every law tracing back to when this town was still a pile of tents. You could murder a man in broad daylight with seven witnesses and I could still promise you less than six months." The woman looked pleased, her shoulders set firmly as she spoke with confidence. Her words were only a.. Slight exaggeration. But what kind of lawyer would she be if she didn't stretch the truth a little?

@Emmrii

“Oh, well, I’ll be contacting you next time I commit a murder.” He gave her a sly smile. “I’m kidding, of course.”

@ScotchTapeWorm group

Eden snorted softly, giving him a smile in return.
"Good. It would be a pain if you were already admitting guild. Makes my job harder. Am I free to go now?" They'd been speaking for a minute now, it would be safer to just go back to her home, go to sleep, than stay and watch the aircrafts. Curfew was in effect after all.

@Emmrii

“Are you though? I could easily shoot you from behind if you turn your back.” He smirked, motioning to his gun.

@ScotchTapeWorm group

Eden's small smile immediately disappeared, she looked colder now, her features less friendly. She gave the man a sharp smile, one with no mirth this time.
"Then who would your lawyer be? Not everyone has guaranteed you a deal like mine." Her lips drew into a thin line, she wasn't a fan of being threatened, even jokingly. He could be more than capable of killing her. Probably without a second thought.

@ScotchTapeWorm group

Ah, some of the tension left her again. She knew the kind she was dealing with now. With a slight change in posture her smile returned, coy and playful.
"Do you always threaten to shoot girls before you make them get you a drink? Or am I special?" Eden raised a hand to her chest, making a fake shocked look.

Okay! I'll put up my character, and then stalk for a bit. I'll probably just introduce myself when the opportunity presents itself if that's okay.

Name: Iris Vonner
Age: 24
Gender:Female
Appearance: Long jet black hair that reaches just above the small of her back, piercing emerald green eyes with dark freckles plastering her face and arms. She wears a black skirt and a black vest with gold embroidery, paired with a pair of black slacks, dark brown boots, and gold jewlery
Personality: She's very cold and analytical, but when you get to know her, , she's a warm, friendly person with a lot of energy. She's very excitable, and passionate about the things she likes. She can talk your head off. When she's in her bartender mode, she's friendly and calm, but doesn't speak unless spoken to or necessary. She prefers to ignore creeps
Other: She works at the local bar the Wishing Well, and is very good at her job. She has a degree in mixology, and is a very good cook.

“Hm. Depends. I don’t normally make girls get me a drink, so maybe you are special.”

Iris stood behind the bar in the Wishing Well drying and putting away glasses. She was bored out of her mind. Today had been a very uneventful day, especially for being on of two bars in town. She called out to her coworker who was bussing tables

"Hey Erik! I'm going to take my break. Be back in ten"

Erik looked up and nodded "Alright sweetheart, I'll watch the bar for you."

Goodness she hated him. He was worse than the patrons. He was always flirting with her and she couldn't stand it. She stepped out back and leaned against a wall. She took a few deep breaths and looked up at the sky. It was night, the sky greyed with factory smoke. She looked around the darkened alley, She hated working the closing shift. Erik was always there, and she had to stand in this creepy alley for her break, just to get away from him. She listened to the sounds of machines pumping and people talking. It was rather quite for this time and place. She checked her watch and sighed. "Breaks over" she walked back inside and went back to the bar.

"Perfect timing sweetheart" Erik said, covering the receiver of the bar's phone. "You have a call"

'just great' she thought, walking over to him and roughly taking the phone "Hello. Wishing Well, Vonner speaking" she said in her most friendly and professional voice. The place got calls all the time for whatever reason

"You don't have to be so formal Iris!" A familiar male voice said from the other end of the phone

She smiled. It was her boyfriend Finn. "Yes love. How can I help you?"

He laughed and replied "I was just wondering what time you'd be home"

She reciprocated the energy. "I get of in like an hour and a half. I should be home before one. Don't wait up for me 'kay?" she said slightly sighing.

"Okay, I won't" he said "I love you." He finalized, "Love you too" was all she said before hanging up the phone.

(sorry its so much dialogue. I just wanted to give a perspective of her life before she gets wrapped up in what
Charlie and McKay have going on)

“Hm. Depends. I don’t normally make girls get me a drink, so maybe you are special.”

Now it was Edens turn to smirk. Her lips slanted upwards in the right way, but it was too practiced, like she'd done it a hundred times in a mirror to get it right, rather than something that came naturally to her.

"I'm flattered…" She trailed off, looking expectantly at the man for a name. She couldn't just keep calling him 'mysterious stranger' in her head. Though the nickname was fitting.
(Oh, and I love Iris btw. She seems fun!)

( Thank you! I just pulled her out of thin air so I'm glad you like her

He looked at her, and he seemed to be able to almost read her mind from his next response. “The name’s McKay,” he said. “And I don’t think I want to know yours. I’ll just stick with darling, how’s that?”

@ScotchTapeWorm group

Eden couldn't help but snort softly. She'd already told the man her name. Perhaps he didn't believe her. 'Ask for Eden' did sound like a code after all, rather than 'ask Sally for help'. Absently, she shook her head, looking more and more amused.

"McKay? Not the most.. Common name. And darling is fine with me, saves me the trouble of anonymity." She stared at him for a minute, and then things started to click into place. He did look familiar. She smiled, tipping her head in a nod of respect.

"Can I leave.. Now?" She raised an eyebrow, this conversation had dragged on for a while now. She needed to get home and sleep, else her performance tomorrow would suffer. She'd asked for permission several times now, if she had to keep asking things might not stay so polite.
"Or do you still need something.. Sir?"
