After a while, Charlie shows back up.
She nods in approval, seeing the man was still there.
"Good evening!" she says cheerfully, unlocking the chains.

“Oh, yeah. Great evening.” He rolled his eyes as he began to rub his sore wrists. “Easy for you to say. You weren’t kidnapped.”
"Mm. . . don't think of it as kidnapping. Just think of it as. . . relocation. Forceful, sure, but it helps." Charlie chuckles.
“I still don’t understand why you went through all this trouble to kidnap me. I’m some guy from off the streets.”
"Well, those men were after you for a reason. You're a murderer, a theif, a gang leader, or some other flavor of undesirable. And for someone like me, having you around would help, and for you, having the Fixer around would definitely get you more allies." Charlie shrugs.
“The Fixer?” He snorted. “That’s not a cringy name at all. I wouldn't dare to tell you my gang name, dear, because I’m afraid it would say a lot about me as a person.”
"Hey, I didn't choose the name. I got it because I've fixed every single notable - and unnotable - balloon in this city. And some other things. Like aversions to breathing, or having any will to live." Charlie shrugs.
“So… you’re not a gang member?” He frowned. “I’m not good at fixing balloons, lady. I don’t even like heights.”
"Lord, no! If I was a gang member, my sisters would kill me. And my brothers. And my mother. And father." she snorts.
"Mmmm. . . I don't need you for that sort of fixing. I need you for behavioural fixing. Correcting bad attitudes." she hums.
“Aw, you want to fix my bad attitudes? Good luck with that.” He snorted. “I’m not interested.”
(T^T I apparently have zero self-control for steampunk- I saw this was still open? I uh- Might be interested if you'd have me!)
(Mhm, of course! Just make your BIO and you can totally join 👍🏻👍🏻)
(Cool! Will do! I always like to ask, any preferences for my characters? Gender, age, job, personality? I love suggestions, but if you don't have any I'll come up with someone soon :D )
(Nah, I don’t have any preferences. You can go with anything 😁😁 For jobs, a few good ideas are a government official, police officer, or anything really)
“Aw, you want to fix my bad attitudes? Good luck with that.” He snorted. “I’m not interested.”
"No, fixing other people's bad attitudes. I already figured I couldn't fix yours, so I'm having you fix other people's. Plus, you'll be my debt collector. Spares me having to track people down." Charlie snorts.
“I better get paid for doing this,” he said, “and I better get let out of this crummy place. I have a life to live, you know.”
Name: Eden Halliday
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Eden is.. Fancy, put politely. She has incredibly long reddish-blonde hair that falls down to about her hips in waves. It is always pinned up inside a hat or done up in intricate braid patterns. Large, soft brown eyes and full lips are placed on a pale face. She wears little make-up, mostly just eye-liner and dramatic smoky eye shadow. Eden stands about 5'6" and has a very put together air about her. Thin and delicate looking, with a willowy build. She wears whatever happens to be in fashion, but has a weakness for gloves and ruffles. She likes to carry a clutch with her everywhere. Eden looks every stitch a lady of high society.
Personality: Eden looks like a woman who has never smiled in her life, she looks like she should be in a painting in some museum, staring endlessly with some wistful expression. This couldn't be further from her actual self. While looking put together, she's a tease with a sarcastic streak a mile long. She's incredibly intelligent, but not the most suave with actual human beings. (Honestly a bit of a dork.) Not the most talkative person, she has keen eyes that like to take in everything around her. Still, she's an adamant follower of the law, though those can be bent in fun ways. Her moral code is more what benefits her politically in the future.
Other: Eden Halliday is a lawyer, her father owned the firm and taught her much of what she knows, so she's been reading law books since she learned how to toddle. Growing older she began getting an interest in politics and she's been steadily climbing the ranks of officials through a mix of skill, knowledge, and piles and piles of blackmail. She lives in an apartment above the law firm and her home is littered with books and papers, and hidden safely away, her cache of information that will be released should she have an untimely demise.
(There! Hope you like her! I noticed the theme of the characters didn't seem to be morally squeaky clean. Figured I'd add her to the roster :D )
(I love her! You can add her into the story whenever you feel like it 👍🏻👍🏻)
(Charlie is morally squeaky clean, compared to McKay XD at least Charlie lets you know you'll be robbed before she does it)
(Haha, if Eden wants to rob you, she'd do it looking you in the eye while listing all of the ways it was entirely legal for her to be doing it XD)
“I better get paid for doing this,” he said, “and I better get let out of this crummy place. I have a life to live, you know.”
"Yeah, you'll get paid. 80£ per day. Probably more than you've been paid in a while." she smirks.

(Very fair lol, I get the feeling she and Charlie will get along well)
(Haha, who doesn’t love a morally gray lawyer?? 😂)
(I basically am a morally grey lawyer and I'm in high school lmao I'm very, very good at weaseling my way out of getting punishments)
