(Are they inside or outside?)
(That's fine. And good luck on your interview! I bet you'll do great.)
(Outside.)
Ben turned around. "You know what , it was my fault. Im in a rush sorry. I need to get to some idiotic lacrosse thing."
Ryder had his arms crossed in the back, his sister nowhere to be seen. Oh, how he was going to wring her neck when he found her. She had promised to stay out of trouble. He was just about to call out when his name was called when his sister exited the school they were about to be forced into and walked to where ever the hell they were.
"You know, I was really dreading thus school, but after taking a look at it, it's not that bad." Jordan said as she bit into an apple. "Oh, I'm here by the way. And so is my brother. He's in the back." She said with a grin. When she saw her brother's face, her grin morphed into a smirk and she winked at him.
"Good," The man answered, going through a few more names. "Graham?"
Cal glanced at the boy in the back, his mismatched eyes studying him as he blew strands of messy hair out of his face. After a few moments, he turned back, Alaska casting him a look and rolling her eyes. "Stop checking him out." She muttered, shaking her head faintly as she smirked.
"I am not," Cal scowled, slipping his cigarette between his fingers again.
"Oh I'm on the lacrosse team too shit is that meeting now?" He asked the guy
"Yeah. Wanna head over?" Ben asked the kid.
"Yeah sure" Grey answered, he was horrible at remembering things like this
Harley sighed as her uncle explained to her why she couldn’t stay as if she already didn’t know. She looked down at her phone to see a message from her bestie
sad that your leaving :(
She laughed softly and replied
yeah right! We both know you can’t wait to have all my stuff!
Her aunt and uncle decided to give all of her things to her friend because they didn’t have any kids who would use her stuff. She looked out the window at the forest they were passing through and once again, sighed.
"I don't WANNA go!" Alice yells at her adoptive parents.
"Alice. You have to go. It will be good for you," Her mother tries to reason.
"Is Sabrina going?" Alice asks, talking about her best friend.
"No, but-"
"Then I'm not going!" Alice's muscly dad picks her up and carries her out to the car. "Put me down! I don't wanna go!"
The car finally stopped and Harley’s uncle got out of the car and knocked on her window. Harley pretended not to hear him and instead decided to be depressed. She heard her uncle sigh and then heard the trunk open. She decided to get out because her legs were cramping. Her uncle saw her just as he put the suitcases down. “Why exactly am I here?” Her uncle looked at her in disbelief “Harley you stole from a convenience store and me. This school helps you get rid of your theiving mentality by putting you in different sport teams. I know you like lacrosse so I chose that as one of your options. Please try to have a good time, ok?” Harley rolled her eyes and grabbed her backpack “whatever I don’t even care anymore. I hope I never comeback!” She yelled, her voice heavy with emotion. She grabbed her suitcases, turned around and wiped her eyes, and walked towards the school.
Cal and Alaska listened as the man continued to rattle off names, leaning against the bus behind them. He had finally lit his cigarette, the man, and his sister both casting him looks, but he couldn't help it. Ever since he was a teen, smoking had helped him cope with stress and grief.
"Do you-" Alaska began, running a hand through her shorter hair as she leaned on her prosthetic. "Do you think that this can be our home?" She asked hopefully, looking up at him with big green eyes.
Nowhere will ever be our home. "Of course, 'lil sis. It'll be like starting over." Cal answered instead, a small smile lighting up his features. "A brand new page."
Harley arrived inside the school to see some kids surrounding a teacher. Harley went and joined the group just as the teacher called her name “what’s up I’m back here old man!” She yelled
Violet glared at her parents as they pulled up, getting out as soon as she could and grabbing her bag. "Good riddance, assholes!" She yelled at the receding car, storming in.
"Good, so far we have everyone," The man sighed, already knowing that a few students were missing. He glanced down at his clipboard and rubbed the back of his neck as if he were nervous to be in an area next to a group of troublemakers. "As you know, all of you will be participating in the lacrosse program. We've signed you up for a league that is quite difficult, but we'll know that you'll do amazing."
Cal scoffed at it and rolled his eyes, resulting in Alaska elbowing him in the ribs. Often times, he almost forgot that she was younger.
"The league is rough, so there will be some shoving. . . and even a few fights." The man continued. "Practices will be three times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Does everyone understand?"
Zanna walked in to the meeting, around the same time the teacher said 'league is rough'. She sighed as flipped off the teacher and leaned against a tree arms crossed. She blew and popped a bubble as Zanna chewed her gum.
"Good. We'll be figuring out positions and handing out uniforms tomorrow." The man continued to explain, glancing at every single on them. Cal stiffened as his eyes landed on Alaska's prosthetic as if it were something to pity. Calm down. Don't get mad. . . "For now, meet one another and we can get dorm rooms sorted out."
Zanna groaned, socializing? She didn't want to do that, they all would take pity on her for her arm. It didn't stop her, actually it was pretty fun. If anyone ever asked her for a hand she enjoyed throwing it at them. Zanna chuckled under her breath at the thought.
Alaska noticed the girl by her, who also had a prosthetic. After a few moments, she decided to move towards her, a slight limp in her step. "Hey. . ."
Zanna looked at the girl, "Hi…"
"I'm, uh, Alaska Evans." She said quickly, running a hand through her dark hair. She had never been amazing at socializing, that was usually her brother's job.
"Zanna Storm," she offered a hand to the girl. As she did this she popped another bubble.
Harley looked around hopelessly. she didn't like socializing.
Violet walked in. "What'd I miss?"
