"That - that doesn't make a difference in the English language," Charlotte stammered confusedly.
"That - that doesn't make a difference in the English language," Charlotte stammered confusedly.
He laughed again, and kept walking, not giving any more of an explanation.
"Sir, that's - " she broke off with a quiet growl. "Nothing makes sense here."
"It's Wonderland, love. Nothing is supposed to make sense here." He said.
"Well, that's utterly ridiculous and I hate it," Charlotte announced annoyedly.
He chuckled, opening the door to a gorgeous set of rooms. "Your prison cell, my dear." He said with a flourish.
Charlotte peeked into the room and subtley nodded with satisfaction. "How long am I supposed to stay here?"
"That remains to be seen. Any attempt to escape will be dealt with severely." He said.
"Well how in he'll am I supposed to leave your 'country's if I'm trapped in this ridiculous castle?" Charlotte asked incredulously.
He smirked. "We're keeping you here until we can find a way to get you out." He replied.
"Or… you could leave that to me," Charlotte suggested, crossing her arms again.
"Nope." He replied, looking down at her.
Charlotte scowled. "You're completely stupid," she muttered before stalking into the room and looking around.
Quinn laughed again. "Nope. I just care about my kingdom more than about you." He replied.
"I wasn't going to destroy your kindgom, you imbecile," she called back.
"No. But you would have caused chaos." He replied, leaning on the doorframe.
"I don't know where you've gotten the idea that a 16 year old girl was going to cause that much chaos, but it's completely inaccurate," Charlotte argued.
He chuckled. "I've met many chaotic sixteen year olds, thanks." He replied.
Charlotte raised an eyebrow. "Have you? You don't seem like a person with many social skills."
He shrugged. "Darling, you are speaking to a king."
"First of all, I'm not your 'darling,' 'dear,' or any other pet names you may come up with. And second of all, I am well aware that I'm speaking to a king. The role does not grant you social skills " she scoffed.
He smirked. "Finally riled you up, did I?"
"I've been riled up since the day I was born, don't give yourself credit for that. And don't looked so pleased with yourself. If I wasn't a proper lady, I'd have snapped at you ages ago," she rolled her eyes as she walked over to a bookshelf to examine the books.
He let his eyes roam unabashedly over her body. "Mm." He said. "If you say so."
Charlotte shot him a steely glare. "Well, your company has been most… illuminating, but you can leave now."
