"Keep the puppy on your lap…" He instructed. "I brought Duke." He said, gesturing to the head that popped up between the seats. Duke sniffed Nicky, and then the puppy. He began to lick it's head, wagging his tail. "Old Geezer.." Will chuckled, "Got nothing but love in him…" He looked Nicky over again. "You didn't answer my questions. You want some food?"

¨No I´m not hungry¨ she said as she looked out the window

"Okay…" He accepted that… for now. If she didn't eat tonight, he would pester. He wanted to make sure she was taken care of. Once they got to the cellar, he got out and let Duke out of the car, who ran to the door and pawed at it. He then opened the door for Nicky and took her hand.

Nicky stood up ¨ You must really care¨ she said.

William shrugged. "About you? Yes. I do. A lot." He answered, kissing her forehead. More than she would ever know. More than he was willing to admit at the moment. But if he wasn't a wanted criminal, they'd go get married right now. Sadly, he screwed that option up before it could ever be considered. They went down the steps and he set her on the couch.

Nicky looked up at will ¨ Thanks ¨ she said.

"No. Thank you." That was all he said as he went to retrieve a medical kit. "This was my best friend before you came. I met with it often." He told her.

Nicky frowned ¨I really have to go home¨ she said.

"No you don't." William said as he went to get some ice. He came back with a pack for her to put on her cheek. He then went to clean her split lip. Rage coursed through her veins and she fought to keep his hands from shaking.

¨do you know how many times I prayed at night just to die how many times i thought about sucicide How many times I wanted to take my fathers gun and shoot my parents¨ she asked¨ I don´t know maybe I´d be bettter off dead It´s not like anyones gonna miss me.¨

William slammed his fist down. "How could you say something like that!" he roared. He stood up and moved away from her. "What do you mean no one would miss you?" Tears formed in his eyes, but he refused to cry. "I would care! Mika would care! All of your friends would care!" He said. "You don't have to go back! You don't have to live through that anymore!"

Nicky sighed ¨ it´s just hard ya know¨ she said.

"But I'm here now. It doesn't have to be hard anymore. You're not alone anymore. If you don't want to get your hands dirty I understand, but I am not letting you walk back into that! Not without a fight." He told her. Placing a hand on her cheek, he sighed. "I'm not gonna lose the one good thing in my life… not now.."

Nicky smiled ¨"Okay but I am going to get my hands dirty I´m gonna put a bullet in my mothers head¨ she said.

William shook his head. "Do you really want to do that? Nicky… what I've stepped into… that can't be taken back. Once you make this choice… you are mark…You can't go back to your regular life. The world will want you dead. I've dealt with it, but it this something you want to live with?"

Nicky stood up ¨ I think I can manage ¨ she said.

William nodded. "Okay…" He stood as well and grabbed his keys. "I'm going with you."

¨are you sure you can stay here¨ she said.

"Im going. With you." He repeated as he made his way to the car. "I told you already. You're not alone."

NIcky smiled and kissed Will´s cheek¨ Thank you¨ she said

William shrugged. "You have nothing to thank me for. I'd go to the ends of the earth and back for you, beautiful. Handing you a gun is the last of my worries." He opened the door for her.
