William cursed under his as he heard the voice. Now or never He told himself and he tensed. Police always made him jumpy, but for Nicky's sake, he would keep his cool, and leave calmly. He kissed her cheek and stood. "Alright love, I guess I'll be making my getaway now." He slipped his jacket on once more, his eyes on the door.

William looked him in the eye. "Good evening sir." He said with a smile. "I just came to visit your daughter for a little while." He strolled to the window. "Fear not, we did nothing inappropriate. Oh, by the way, my name is William Langston. You know my father." He put a leg out the window. "I would love to stay in chat but I've got a 11 to 7 shift to pick up in my bed. Nicky," He looked at her and wink. "Love you beautiful. Let's see if I make it." William then ducked out of the window and crawled down to the edge of the roof and hopped off.

William was home, in the bathroom, cleaning blood from his hands. The job today was a little messy. Some of the soldiers wouldn't back down, so he had to break a few faces and bones. He hadn't slept at all last night, not after he left Nicky. All night, he thought of how stupid he'd been. How he'd been so caught up in feelings that he'd forgotten what she'd told him in the car. He'd forgotten about her mother. She'll be alright… He told himself. But even he didn't believe those words. Before he knew it, he'd grabbed his key, put Duke on a leash and was driving to her house in a matter of minutes.

Nicky kept walking with her puppy and looked at the ground. She pulled her phone out and called Willliam ¨ I need to see you¨ she said her voice coming out croaky.

William cursed. "Nicky, I'm on my way. Are you at home?" He sounded frantic. He was so stupid. How could her forget about the one thing that could harm her. "Are you okay? Where are you?"

¨ I´m walking my dog by the school¨ she said.

William slammed on his braked in the middle of the street and turned around immediately. It was illegal, people were angry, but he couldn't care less. He just had to see her, this was his mistake, his fault. And if she was hurt….He gripped the steering wheel. If she was hurt, he was gonna commit murder. he drove with speed, only slowing once he was near the school. He found a parking spot and got out. He saw a figure with a dog up ahead of him. "Nicky!" he called.

Nicky Froze but did not move she stayed still keeping her head down

He grabbed her shoulder and turned her around. "Nicky?" He bent down and looked at her face. The bruises… He cursed aloud. "Nicky… I'm sorry. This is all my f-" he ran his hands through his hair. He gently touched her face. His fingers trembling. "Beautiful… I'm so sorry… I-" He leaned in and kissed an unbruised area of her cheek. He then looked her in the eyes. "I'm gonna kill them. I promise you. You and your brother and your dog can live with me. I. Will. Kill. Them."

Nicky put a hand on his face ¨ It´s not your fault¨.

William turned. "Yes it is. If I was so damn cocky, you would be okay. Nicky…" He shook his head, he then turned and kissed her softly. "Get in the car. Have you eaten? Did you sleep good? Of you didn't.. Ugh, i'm so sorry." He rambled.

Nicky placed a hand on his cheek and kissed him.

He grew still, quieted by her kiss. He wrapped his arms around her and held. He wasn't sure he would ever let her go, not again. Pulling away he breathed. "C'mon…" He took her hand and led her to the car.

Nicky let will pull her to his car as she layed her head on his shoulder.
