Lucky looked down, a bit ashamed of himself. "I'm sorry. Didn't mean to be weird." He could feel the pressure behind his eyes start to build, but he blinked hard, several times, and it went away. Don't you start crying again.
"Just missing my family is all."
(Honestly, I just want to know what are plan is)
( @EtherealDreamer )
Ronni nodded. She shook her head at the Slim Jim before heading back into the other apartment and moving to the kitchen.
She noted Ariella and Lucky seemed to be having an intense conversation and tried to be quick, grabbing a couple of gas station sealed meals and hurrying back to Lucas.
"Chicken sandwich or ham sandwich?" She asked quietly, offering him either.
(Well, i was under the impression if we can ever get everyone on the same page, we'll head out west. Like, leave the apartment and start travelling. But we all keep rabbit-trailing. Which is fine, if everyone is having fun with that. It does make it hard to move plot forward without leaving people behind)
(Also looks like we've got at least 2 couples forming up, and 2 more on the way. Several people dealing with various levels of trauma, some folks just stuffing it down, developing characters that way as far as I can tell. It's been dialogue and emotion heavy so far, which, again, is fantastic if everyone is happy)
(I can only assume there'll be more action and opportunities for characters to grow once we get a move on, know what I mean?)
(yeah, Idk what to do with my guys atm, so I think I'll just wait a bit)
(I think we're just waiting for Lucas to get better then we'll move on)
Lucas looked up, he was in the process of devouring the second piece of the Slim Jim., which he'd offered to Ronni.
He brought a hand up to cover his mouth.
"Chicken." He said, while chewing. "Thanks by the way."
He swallowed the last bit of Slim Jim and coughed into his hand, searching for any kind of blood to come out, but it didn't.
(Also, I'm sorry to anyone who was prepared to move West, Lucas has the flu and I'm sorry for slowing down the plans.)
Ronni tossed him the packaged sandwich and sat back in her big, comfy chair, smiling at him.
The cough made her frown, but… he wasn't coughing up blood, so that was good.
That was very good.
(Oh, buddy, nobody was coming for you specifically. Lucas happens to be sick, which was a terrifying plot point, well done. Before that it was Lucky and Alastor being out, trying to meet up with Celeste's characters. And we still havent' coordinated with Liam, june or Devon to get them to go look for supplies like they all keep saying we need to do, so theres that too. There's not fault here, nobody is trying to blame you :) don't worry)
( @Davadio )
Lucas unwrapped it and took a huge bite, waiting to swallow before he tried to speak.
He then decided against breaking the silence and continued to eat, his mouth watering slightly at the thought of food, which he hadn't thought of eating for a while.
"Thanks," he said "That sandwich hit the spot."
He leaned back and closed his eyes. He felt so much better than before he had eaten.
(I know :) I was just apologizing in case someone was slightly upset… also I apologize for basically everything.)
Ronni watched as he visibly relaxed. She hoped he'd sleep, since that would be the easiest way for him to heal.
Also, if he slept, she could watch his breathing, and check for irregularities. The Deluxe Flu had caused sleep apnea in normal folks, which had been a big indicator.
Leo smiled at her, his eyes still closed.
"I'm going to sleep a little," He told her. "So, I guess I'll see you when I wake up."
He then quieted, thinking about a memory of himself and his younger sister, Gabby, and in under five minutes his breathing slowed and he fell asleep.
Ronni watched him drift off. She waited, and noted his breathing, which was normal.
All good things. He would probably be ok. By this point, most people who'd contracted deluxe were showing major symptoms.
So he was likely going to survive just fine.
(Don't apologize. It's good for everyone. Plus it gives Ronni and Lucas a chance to get closer)
Lucas woke up, about an hour later, with a jolt. Inside his dreamscape he had fallen out of a tree and broken his left arm, another childhood memory.
He looked around slowly, stretching and yawning, noticing Ronni watching him.
"Hi," he said and waved shyly. "I didn't say anything to embarrassing while sleeping, did I?"
Ronni shook her head. He hadn't said much of anything, so he needn't have worried.
"yikes," Lucas said jokingly, "It was really that bad?"
He yawned largely and smiled at her.
"I've heard from a lot of people that I talk in my sleep." He stated.
Ronni smiled at him. "You're exhausted. You didn't this time." She hoped he'd go back to sleep. He needed to try to rest as much as he could.
Lucas laughed lightly.
"Yeah, I was." He told her. "I feel better though, after eating and resting."
"You need to sleep more." An hour wasn't nearly enough. On top of that, Ronni was falling asleep herself.
"Just missing my family is all."
Ariella slipped off the counter and pulled Lucky into a hug. She didn't say anything else. She wasn't sure there was anything to be said. She couldn't imagine what he was feeling. While she was searching for her family, at least she had a way to get to them. He had no hopes of going home. No plane or boat to take.
