Lucas bid a small goodbye to the new group and turned to Lucky, nodding in the direction of the gas station and started heading that way.
As he stepped through the shattered glass doors he saw that many shelves were in disarray and that at least a quarter of the stock seemed to missing, her opened his spare pack, which he always kept on him and began shoveling food into it.
Chips, water, milk and even some beef jerky.
He then made his way to the back of the store and his face lit up as he saw the slushie machine was still working.
"Yes!" He said to himself, pumping his fist into the air and grabbing a large slushie cup. He filled it with all blue, which he knew was always some variation of raspberry and took a long slow sip.
He groaned in ecstasy and drank again, only stopping when it was halfway gone, then refilling the cup to be full again.
Lucas bid a small goodbye to the new group and turned to Lucky, nodding in the direction of the gas station and started heading that way.
Lucky watched Lucas walk into the gas station, before looking at Alastor again.
"Lucas is planning on heading west, so if you're going somewhere more rural, we're all probably headed in the same direction." He paused, thinking. "I know he mentioned where we are staying for now, but⦠if you wanted to join us, you're welcome to." They already knew where everyone else was, may as well invite them. "We're a mixed group, so your friend there wouldn't be alone." He pointed briefly at Ronni. He glanced at Liam. "And you're Liam, correct?"
Lucas started heading that way.
Chips, water, milk and even some beef jerky.

Ronni had filled the tank on the truck and shut the pump off. She watched as the taller man walked past her and the truck and into the gas station. She went in behind him, silently, looking for gas cans. She found several and went to put them on the bed of the truck, where she could fill them.
His choices caught her attention. She had no idea why he would want the milk, as it would be warm and spoiled by now. But the slushie looked good.
Lucas jumped slightly at the sound of the crunching of the broken glass, he spun around and saw the girl standing there.
"Hi." He said, sipping on his slushie "want one? the machine still works."
"Hi." Lucas said, sipping on his slushie "want one? the machine still works."
Ronni nodded quickly, pointing at the red. I hope that's cherryβ¦
Lucas grabbed a large cup and filled it with the cherry flavored slushie. He snapped a lid on the top, making sure it was secure and slid a straw into the lid.
He held it out for her while smiling.
"I didn't know how much I missed slushies until I saw this machine." He told her.

(Dev and June are just chillin' in the apartment they're staying in, I think.)
(My internet is so bad rn, that's why the reply I made was completely out of context, sorry about that)

"I'm fine with that, if they are," Alastor said, nodding to Liam and Ronni. He petted Zeus on the head affectionately, suddenly feeling slightly overwhelmed from all that's happened today.
He held it out for her while smiling.
"I didn't know how much I missed slushies until I saw this machine." He told her.
Ronni hesitantly took the cup, taking a sip. It was Cherry!
She nodded at him, agreeing. She pointed at herself and said "Ronni." quietly. She pointed at him with a quizzical look on her face. What's your name?
"I'm fine with that, if they are," Alastor said, nodding to Liam and Ronni. He petted Zeus on the head affectionately, suddenly feeling slightly overwhelmed from all that's happened today.
Lucky smiled. "Sounds like a plan. We're gonna grab more food and stuff. You could follow us back if you like."
He headed over to the building and dismounted. He began filling Sinjoro's saddlebags with anything that was non-perishable. Sealed drinks, waters, sealed snacks, sealed jars of various things. He noticed some of those little car flashlights and grabbed a few, thinking they'd be helpful. He also saw Lucas and the girl over by the slushie machine. They seemed to be enjoying the drinks.
Liam watched the slushie machine slowly, the different colors mixing in the cold. he hadn't had one in so long. Liam grabbed a cup and filled it with green. He didn't know what flavor, the sticker that would have told him had long faded away, but it was delicious.

Alastor nodded in agreement before beckoning to Zeus with a snap of his fingers, which made the dog obediently follow him into the building.
Alastor avoided the slushie aisle, not really feeling in the mood for something sweet. Like Lucky, he put non-perishable food items into his backpack and sighed with relief when he found miniature first aid kits and small bottles of pepper spray.
He chuckled when he saw Zeus sitting patiently besides the beef jerky on the shelves and Alastor ripped a package open for the dog to eat.

Ronni smiled at Liam and nodded her thanks to Lucas before heading back out to the truck to finish filling the gas cans, it took her several minutes, and as the cans filled, she ducked back in, grabbing various food items and stowing them in the bed of the truck. There were some cardboard boxes, flattened and ready to be put in the trash, but she snagged a couple and folded them back into boxes, filling them with food and closing them before putting them in the bed. She noted the guy on the horse filling his saddlebags and gave him a slight nod.
She was ready to go within a few minutes.

Lucky was glad to see Alastor making smart choices. He was beginning o realize the age gap might play a big part in how well people survived. Liam, for instance, had headed straight for the slushies, like a normal kid would, where Alastor saw the value in other things. He had to smile at Lucas as he watched the guy fill his slushie cup several times. Or maybe slushies are just good and I should stop being judgey.
A thought struck him, and he looked around the counter, finally finding what he wanted. It was one of those cardboard cupholders that held 4 cups. He went over and filled 3, thinking he could bring one back for Devon, June, and Ariella. He knew Devon and Ariella wouldn't be happy about them bringing more people home, so maybe this peace offering would help. June would be fine.
He had filled his saddlebags already, so he got Lucas and Alastor's attention. "I'm going to head back. Lucas can show you 3 exactly where we are, if you'd like to join us."
He headed out, nodding at the quiet girl by the truck, and managed to get into the saddle without spilling the drinks. He took off for home at an easy trot.
(And now we're all set up to be in one group! :D )
("june would be fine" true. Devon just might take longer to get used to people)
Devon had went into the room where he was supposed to sleep, and laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. June was laying on the couch with her head hanging off the side looking at the world upside down, while twirling a knife.

Once Lucky left, Alastor and Zeus went to the slushie aisle to get Liam, Ronni, and Lucas.
"Lucky said you'd be able to show us where your group's staying," Alastor said to Lucas, adjesting the now heavy backpack on his shoulder.
Lucas nodded and said "there might be a sleeping problem, both rooms are filled already and the couch is already taken."
He smiled small anyways.
"But you can join us I guess, we could rearrange and make room if we need to, one or two of you might have to sleep on the floor or in the bathtub." He told Alastor.
(yesβ have you never done that?)
(ohβ¦maybe it's just me then.)
