(living people emphasis on not dead)
Ronni stepped into the room, with Liam behind her at the door, as if on cue. She heard Lucas introducing them and nodded at the people looking at her. She recognized Lucky and Lucas, but the 2 girls were new.
There are a lot of guys in here⦠She didn't like that.
Trust the ladies around you. Tanya said quietly. If they're not getting creeper vibes of these guys, you shouldn't either.
June smiled, "Henlo, I am June. My brother Donevan or Devon, is asleep in there" She pointed to a closed door that lead to the room Dev was in. "I am trying to not freak anyone out with my, 'over enthusiasm' so I will just stay seated and smile and be polite" She said, using air quotes before going back to drinking her drink.
Lucky smiled. "I'm Lucky, you 3 already know Lucas, and Ariella is a little shy." He took the calculated risk of telling them Ariella's name. He wasn't worried about them, but he was risking her being mad at him. "Make yourselves at home. Food is collecting in the kichen, if you're hungry."
Ariella reached forward and grasped Lucky's pointer finger. She was just about able to wrap her whole hand around it. She tugged on his finger, trying to signal for him to come closer. She wanted a barrier between her and everyone else. And she had a feeling Lucky would protect her. Not that she couldn't protect herself, but it was easier having someone on her side
Lucky grinned, trying not to laugh as she pulled his finger, and pulled his hand up. Without really thinking about what he was doing, he pulled her into his chest.
"See, like I said, a little shy." He wasn't trying to embarrass her, but by looking at Ronni, he could tell she was calculating, and he hoped Ariella would put her at ease, one girl to another. June was dong a great job, but 2 heads are better than 1.

Alastor nodded and clicked his tongue again, allowing Zeus to carefully pad into the room. He walked over to Ariella and sniffed her curiously, wagging his tail in greeting.
Ariella stifled the squeal in her throat. If looks could kill, Lucky would be dead three times over. She pinched his side hard, hoping he got her message. She hid as much of her face in his chest as possible while still being able to keep an eye on the others.
She stiffened as the dig approached. She unraveled one arm from Lucky and scratched his head. She supposed the dog wasn't that bad of an addition.
June jumped up an moved toward the dog. "Dog!" she loved animals, even though they preferred Dev over her, but he liked to pretend that he didn't like animals, even though he seemed actually happy about being around them. She reached toward the dog excitedly, her empty slushie cup on the floor where she jumped and dropped it.
Ronni watched the reactions of the two girls. The quieter one hadn't said anything so far, but seemed very attached to Lucky. The other one was chatty, and seemed comfortable here. That's good.
She watched as Zeus made connections. Alastor knew what he was doing.
Liam watched the others. He was being unusually quiet, back before the FLU, he was constantly getting in trouble for talking nonstop. But now, after having been alone for several days, during which he was completely silent (not incluting the ocashinal swear when he stumbled on a covered body). He took a step toward Alistor, the only face he was completely comfortable with at the moment, other than Zeus that is.
Lucky flinched as Ariella pinched him, but otherwise just smiled at her as she tucked herself into him.
She did seem to like Zeus though, and that was good. Lucky looked across the room and made eye contact with Alastor, nodding a little. Thank you.

Zeus wagged his tail even more, pleased with all of the attention. Alastor smiled fondly at his companion. Zeus hadn't had the chance to act like a normal dog in a long time. It was nice to see him relaxed instead of in police dog mode.
Alastor nodded when he met Lucky's gaze. No problem.
(casually waiting for the animals to start avoiding june's hyperactive energetic and not very observant self)
Ariella pulled her arm back around Lucky as the dog's attention was pulled over June. She sighed softly, trying to relax. She wasn't if sure she would be able to sleep later that night. Ehe was too anxious. She hoped that maybe with Lucky's presence she would feel safe enough to sleep a few hours at least.
Devon, waking up from his sister yelling 'dog', cracked open the door, squinting at the people around the living room. He noticed there were more people and chose to go back to bed rather than meet them, there was now more females than he was comfortable with, not that he was comfortable with any, but that was besides the point.
June noticed her brother and smiled, "DEV! Get out here! Make friends. You fricken gay hermit" She walked over to the room, dragging him out. She sat him down on the couch, going over to her bag and bringing back a glasses case, as he was squinting still. When he refused to take it she took out his glasses and put them on him. "Stop being so grumpy" she rolled her eyes, going back over to Zeus. "dog" she patted the dog's head awkwardly.
Lucas listened quietly to everyone chattering, leaning his back against the wall.
He duly noted that June had called him a gay hermit and smiled a bit to himself.
He noted that Ariella liked Zeus, and that June was enjoying people as usual.
He also noted that Ronni seemed to withdraw once she realised there were plenty of males she was not comfortable with he frowned, sipping on his slushie.
Now that the room was relaxing a bit, Lucky was curious. "Have you guys heard any news recently?" He hadn't heard anything official in a while. "Do we know if there's a plan from the government or anything? I've been trying to get back to my family in Germany and I have no clue how or if I can."
He looped an arm around Ariella gently, trying to be comforting.
Ronni smirked at Devon. That was a reaction she could understand. She noticed Lucas looking at her and looked away.
When Lucky asked about Germany, her eyes widened. She turned and headed back out to the truck, gathering some of the food she'd put in the back, in order to carry it inside.
She also just didn't want to be there when they told him what they'd heard.
Lucas piped up.
"It's bad man, as bad as the flu was here, there must be survivors and everything, like us, and I hope your family is okayβ¦but the chances are slim." He told Lucky sadly.
"I'm trying to get to my sister Gabbi, but I have no idea if she stayed put or left our city."
Ariella sucked in a breath. She looked up at Lucky, nervous for his reaction. She knew he had hope that his family was safe.
She tighted her arms around him, her fists clenching his shirt. If he would let her, she would be his anchor.

Alastor glanced up at Devon and smiled warmly at him.
"Hi, I'm Alastor," he said, holding out his hand for Devon to shake.
He felt a lot of sympathy for Lucky. Alastor's brother was in Europe and he had no idea if he was alive or not. Or if his parents were alive. Zeus walked away from June and stood in front of Devon, patiently waiting to be petted by the new human.
Lucky's arm tightened around Ariella, just a little, and something sank in his chest. He thought for a moment, before asking, a little quieter, "Do any of you have a radio, or a working phone, or something where we could be looking for updates? There's gotta be somebody who knows something about the situation out there."
lucas shook his head.
"Last time I checked the news was the day before yesterday, btu apparently the flu spread to the whole world." He supplied.
"The news lady said the rate of death in foreign coutries was way lower than ours though.' he added quickly.
Ronni came walking through carrying the box of food, and set it on the counter. She listened to what Lucas was saying, and made eye contact with Alastor, shaking her head slightly.
News today said Europe was dying faster⦠Germany has closed its borders, particularly to those of us in the US.
She wasn't sure what had been said, but by the look on Lucky's face, it wasn't good.
