Hi Audrey
"Sorry," Lau said to Alicia, "nothin here." She smiled almost flirtatiously. "Your lipstick is so ritzy."
"Where ya off to so fast?" Lau asked, pouting.
"oh, im on my way home for the night." Alicia replied glancing back at the door.
Lau shrugged. "You're missing out. Majore's gonna do her big finale and you don't wanna miss it. It's a whoopee show, really."
Jack ignored the hum of voices behind him and focus on this hotsy-totsy girl on stage. Usually he was oblivious to the fact that women wanted to be with him, but for some reason this woman stood out to him. He sat staring her up and down, marveling at her gams and bod. Why her?
"should I stay then?" Alicia smirked as she sat on the edge of the seat and turned to the woman belting on stage with transfixed eyes.
"I'd say." Lau leaned in. "It's almost as good as Delilah Pip, innit?"
"it is indeed." Alicia replied, tapping her toe on the floor of the venue.
Jack laughed at himself for a moment and got up and walked to the bar for a drink.
Alicia, being over-prepared as always, saw Jack get up for a drink and pulled a small flask out of her bag, taking a drink.
Delilah walked backstage and changed again. This time she slipped on a long, red flowy ballroom gown that hung onto her shoulders. She walked towards the blond man and tucked a loose brown curl from her wig behind her ear. He was standing with two women, and Delilah was hit with jealousy before she smothered it under a layer of confidence. "The name's Marjorie Count, what's yours, handsome?"
I AM IN LOVE WITH THE PROHIBITION ERA AND CRIME SPREES THAT WENT WITH IT as long as it's not romanticized and seen calmer than it usually is
Jack laughed at the fact she was constantly changing, "Name's Jack, but I'm currently waiting for someone," Jack jokes lightly with Marjorie.
Delilah was taken aback, but she stood with her best poker face and looked Jack in the eye, "I'm waiting for that dance." she twirled around a little, her skirt flowing.
Alicia watched the two talk at the bar, before walking over herself and ordering a drink.
"Come on then," Jack said with a crooked smile. He held out his hand.
Delilah took it, and almost if on cue, a soft, slow song began to play.
Jack took the small woman and spun her around once, then pulled her in close to him, placing a hand on her lower back, holding her hand with the other and began to dance with her.
Delilah put her head against his chest, as they swayed to the music, "Isn't this just berries?" she whispered.
He chuckled softly, "Sure is."
The music was soft and the singer was decent, Delilah smiled up at Jack, "Do you think I can sing the song better?"
Jack looked down at her and flashed his brilliant smile, "Yes, it's very simple. You have a better set of pipes than most I've heard. You're as good as Delilah Pip, I'll say."
"I bet that I'm better." Delilah smiled, it was nice to have a secret.
