Avería crossed her arms over her chest as they waited for the door to open, slightly nervous.
Avería crossed her arms over her chest as they waited for the door to open, slightly nervous.
The door was opened by a short Frostite with dulling blue hair and beautiful ice wings. When she saw Giselle, she flew up and gave a huge hug. "Giselle!"
"Hello, Glisten," Giselle smiled. "Averia, this is my friend, Glisten."
“Hi there, Glisten.” Avería have the Frostite a small, uncomfortable smile.
"Nice to meet you. Averia, was it?" Glisten said sweetly.
“Yeah, that’s it. Um, we should really explain to you why we’re here.” Avería crossed her arms.
"I know why you're here," Glisten smiled. "Come in," She said, turning around and walking inside.
"Of course you do…" Averia muttered, following the girl inside cautiously. She didn't know why she was so on edge.
"Can I get you anything? Frost cake, snow cone, fairy ice?"
"Sorry, Glisten. We're sort of in a rush."
"Oh, of course you are. How could I forget?"
"If you know why we're here you can help us, yeah?" Averia crossed her arms.
"Well, I can't help you retrieve what you need…" The young-looking Frostite replied.
"I gathered but could you help in some way?" She pushed, frowning at her.
"I do not appreciate being spoken to that way. I might appear young but I am centuries old. But yes, I can help."
Avería rolled her eyes, “How can you help?”
"I can tell you where to start. I know the exact place where the Depths of Despair are. But obviously, fairies can't swim. So, you have to find a mermaid at Blue Lagoon to take you there."
Avería nodded, “Right, okay. Got it, Blue Lagoon, find a mermaid, Depths of Despair.”
"One more thing," Glisten said. She flew over to a small box and then brought it back over, opening it. "Try to find Prince Agil. He's your best bet for this quest. Give him this." In the box was a snowflake pendant, with a blue jewel in the centre.
“Do you have any idea where he would be?” Avería asked, peering over at the pendant.
"His favourite hangout is Blue Lagoon. He's almost always there with his best friend, Pandora."
Avería nodded, “Right, okay then. We should get going then.”
"Yes," Giselle said. "Thank you Glisten."
“Yeah, thanks.” Avería turned and left the house.
"Is she always that…rude?" Glisten asked bluntly as she was showing Giselle out.
"I know it's hard to believe, but the world isn't as it used to be. Things have changed."
"Yes, I understand that," Glisten huffed as Giselle unfolded her wings.
Avería flew in place a few meters away from the door, arms crossed, “Come on then.”
Giselle flew out. "Goodbye Glisten." Glisten waved before subtly glaring at Averia and closing the door. "We need a shortcut to Blue Lagoon. I know the perfect one."
"Great. Lead the way then and get lets this over with quickly." Averia said, sighing.
"Oh, no no. It's not that type of shortcut," Giselle laughed lightly. She put her hands together in a shape and then thrust them forwards. A portal appeared, and a dull Blue Lagoon could be seen on the other side with a few mermaids dotted in it.
"Right, magic of course." Averia flew through the portal, her black wings fluttering her through easily and quickly.
Giselle flew through the portal and then closed it. "I believe I have met Prince Agil before. At a…fairy and mermaid gala. It's been a while. We were still quite young."
"Good for you," Averia muttered, running a hand through her hair, "Where would we find him?"
Giselle scanned the crowd of mermaids. "Over there. I think I see him."
