"W-What do you mean? Where did Claus go?" Lucas's breath hitched in his throat, and he fell silent as he glanced between Jessica and Emma.
(Btw, Claus and Lucas's mother were killed by people who invaded their town, mutanized animals, and forced them to kill people, so…)

"Bud thier not here anymore" she said
(Jessica's only 24, so unless she was 14 when Emma was born, it's not possible)
"But… b-but where are they?" Tears rolled down Lucas's pale cheeks. "When are they coming back?"
(Hold on and I'll change her age "
"I'm sorry They aren't alive" she said.
"I'm… I'm not sure I understand." Lucas bit his lip, not entirely sure he wanted an explanation.
"They died" Jessica said.
"W-What does that mean? You.. you mean they'll never come back?" Lucas's voice broke, and he clutched his stuffed dog tighter.
"Yes " she said but if you want i'll send you to your grandmas" she said.
"What grandma? D-Dad said she… she 'died' a while back." Lucas hid his face in his arms, crying softly.
"You have a grandma if you don't wanna be here you can go to other family".
"I… I do wanna be here." Lucas hiccuped, rubbing at his eyes. "I just… I-I feel like part of me is missing. Claus… he's gone."
Karis heard noises and woke up, crying because that's what babies do in the morning.
"Give me a second Lucas" she said and ran upstairs to karis's room.
"Okay…" As soon as Jessica was gone, Lucas ran back up to his room and curled up in the corner, drawing his knees up to his chest as he cried. He wanted to be alone, and yet felt as though there was a piece of him missing without Claus.
Karis's face was red as huge crocodile tears ran down his face.
Jessica went up To Karis and picked her up.
Karis's face was still very red but, the tears were slowing
"Hi baby," Jessica said to Karis in a baby voice.
