(oh mi gosh i forgot about this my bad)
Raine was sitting on the roof of the Persephone cabin, just looking around. She looked over and saw someone coming down the hill. She got excited, as she always did when there was a newbie. She vaulted off of the roof and bounded over to the person. She tripped on her way up the hill but got up just as fast and hurried towards them. "Hi, I'm Raine. What's your name?" She asked, falling in step with the person. She always had a sort of homosexuality to her walk that was obvious.
Val left the Big House, frustrated. Why did Chiron feel the need to have a big, long speech with her about the new girl? He could have just told her, hey, new girl, probably Athena, coming to camp. She shouldn't have even had to go to the Big House. She saw Raine, bless her soul, run up to meet the new girl. She sighed and walked up as well.
"Hi, I'm Val. Head Counselor of the Athena cabin. What do you know about this place so far?"
Acacia took a step back, lowering her expression into a scowl. overly friendly people. jeez.
"Acacia Ryder. Um, daughter of Athena." She saw the other girl coming from the house. She watched her approach, waiting for the inevitable stream of friendliness. When she spoke more down-to-buisness and straight to the point, she earned a few points in Acacia's book.
"All I know is what the satyr told me. A safe place for demigods, great strawberry fields, I can learn to defend myself among other children of Athena, yada yada. Sounds nice, but I've learned to not take anything at face value."
They got to the bottom of the hill. "So which of you is gonna give me a tour?" she let a drop of sarcasm center her voice, letting it be clear she wasnt asking because she thought she could get special treatment.
(glad we got started again!)
(quick question, do we want to do turn order or do we just want to go whenever?)
(I think kind of halfway. like if the characters are interacting wait for someone to respond before moving on, and right now we should wait for Gremlin to go because his character is with ours. we just don't leave anybody, how about that?)
(thats good)
"I can do it," Raine said cheerfully. She could tell that Acacia wasn't too partial to her friendly disposition, but she wasn't going to drop it. That's just who she was. She bounded ahead of the two, turning to face them and walking backward. "Would you like to see the cabins or the 'great strawberry fields' first?"
Val sighed. "Yes, this is a camp for demigods. You said Athena's your mom? Same. So you'll be in my cabin. The one right over there." She pointed. Then she turned and addressed Raine. "You want to give her a tour? Can you bring her back to the Athena cabin when you're done?" She turns and walks off, not even waiting for an answer.
In her head, Acacia approved of Valerie's brusk manner. Outwardly, she kept up a scowl that showed very little change. To Raine, she said "I guess I oughta know where I'm gonna be sleeping and who all I have to share the cabin with, so lets go there first."
(I like Raine, she seems persistent. don't get discouraged, Acacia will warm up to her)
(she is persistent. Rain may get a bit discouraged inwardly, but she won't stop the annoyingly cheerful attitude XD)
"Okay! Let's go" she said, already four steps ahead of Acacia and on her way to the cabins. She went fast, just listing off the gods of the cabins as they passed. "Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena" she stopped at the Athena cabin "This is where you'll be staying. We can go in now, or you could look at it after the tour. Y'know, so you can settle in and look around." She said and waited for an answer. Her tour still going in her head at 4000 miles an hour
(this is where you all can go on without me since val isnt with you guys)
(kk)
Acacia peered through a window in the Athena cabin. "I can settle down later." She only carried one half-full duffle bag. "Onward." her eyes took in everything, skittering from one thing to the next then back several times, like she had to take as much as possible at once but couldn't linger one any one thing long enough to actually process the details.
"Okily Dokily" She said, continuing on past cabins. "This is the Persephone cabin. I stay here. It's actually pretty nice." She continued, pointing out the dining area, the forest, and all the other important places. Eventually, the circled back to the Athena cabin. "Any questions?"
"Not really. Actually, when's food time?" A small gurgling noise came from Acacia's midsection. "Haven't had much to eat today." She hadn't eaten since last night's dinner, in fact, but she wasn't about to sound like a complainer to anyone, especially this nice little person.
"At 6," she said. "We usually have lots of fruit, so that's something nice" she smiled warmly. She looked around, seemingly looking for someone. "I'll leave you to it, see you at 6" she said, walking away toward the Persephone cabin
"alright then," she muttered to herself. she entered her cabin and wondered if there would be any meat at dinner.
(shall we skip to dinner, or something more interesting?)
(yea)
(k lets wait for midnight)
(we're skipping to dinner?)
(I think so, unless you have better idea. wait, what time is it for them now? im imagining like three to four in the afternoon, but what were you guys thinking?)
(i was also thinking its about 3-4. im down to skip to dinner. wanna have them walking down to dinner or already at dinner?)
(how about the horn blows and they walk down? seems like good place to pick it up)
(yep. You guys want me to do it?)
(sure!)
The dinner bell rang loudly across the camp, and almost instantaneously Raine was in front of the Athena cabin waiting for Acacia and Val. "Dinner~" She called out.
(oof, im late 😅)
Acacia appeared behind the rest of the Athena campers, deciding to follow them as she didnt know where to go exactly and how to act here. So far she'd gotten along fine with her siblings; they were pretty cool by her standards, enjoying things like cartography, architecture, and various string crafts. one of her older brothers had shown her how to tie some pretty cool knots quickly, and she'd shown him pressure points to hit on a human in case he needed to fend someone off.
food sounded like the best thing ever invented since sliced bread, so she was eager to get going.
