Raine rapped excitedly on the Athena cabin door. "Acacia~ Wakey wakey" The whole Athena cabin had been up and about for about an hour, and Acacia was the only one missing. Raine was usually up bright and early herself, but let her sleep for a bit.
the door popped open immediately. Acacia stood, her hair a fluffy mess of tangles, her eyes sharp. She was dressed in tough canvas pants and a gray marble-patterned tank top under a black leather jacket with the zipper open.
"Aye? What time is it? Is there something I gotta do?" Her eyes darted around, as if looking for a target.
(its cool, I almost forgot about this one too)
"We kinda have to get up before 7. It's 7:45." She said, rubbing the back of her neck and smiling. "I convinced Chiron to let me get you up, but I don't know if Dionysus is going to yell or not." she leaned against the cabin wall. She was dressed in black denim overalls, cut off at the middle of her thigh. underneath, she's wearing a light purple turtleneck. She has on black high-top Converse and knee-high white socks. It's a cute fit, accented by a few rings distributed evenly between her hands, and one could notice for the first time that Raine has a septum ring. She blows her fluffy curls out of her eyes and turns to Acacia "I'll give you about 10 minutes to get ready before Mr.Grapevine comes stormin' and garce"
"im ready now– well no, I have to get my hair in order. But ill be out in a few minutes."
she shut the door, her receding footsteps audible from where Rain stood.
After approximately three minutes she stepped fully out of the Athena cabin. her hair was tightly French braided back and sliver owl earrings were in place in her earlobes.
"Is breakfast done or what?" she walked toward the dining pavilion, belting on two throwing knives.
"Breakfast starts in about 12 minutes," She said, walking casually towards the dining pavilion "It's cool. Monsieur Pleurnichard isn't there until about 20 minutes in." She looked at Acacia's earrings and smiled "Those are cool earrings"
she nodded absently, her eyes still roving. "Yeah… thanks, I mean. What do you do all day here?"
She fell into step next to Rain, matching her pace without thinking. Her hands reached up to fiddle with the earrings subconsciously.
(oof, ik this is a short post but this is literally all she's doing. I cant think of anything else to add)
"Uh, usually we have demi-god type activities, camp games, stuff like that," She said as they reached the dining pavilion "This is where we part for a bit, but we're playing capture the flag later. That game is brutal, so prepare yourself. Your cabin should help you get the hang of it though" She said before skipping off to the Persephone table with her few half-siblings, leaving little room for Acacia's potential questions
Acacia just nodded and set to devour some food– a mountain of French toast, half a pig of bacon, Idaho's finest peppery hashbrowns and a lake of syrup. "Excellent feast," she murmured to herself. A sibling nodded, nibbling on some pastry thing.
"Yup, we get fed good around here." he was short, with dark hair and an easygoing smile. "Have you been claimed yet?"
she raised an eyebrow and swallowed a bite of toast-wrapped bacon. "Claimed?"
his smile increased. "That's a no. Mom will make a sign over your head to mark you as her daughter. Big glowy owl, can't miss it." He stood from his seat–which was with his butt on the table and his feet on the bench–and clapped her on the shoulder. He didn't notice how she flinched, her hands twitching for her knife for an instant. "See ya 'round, sis." He chuckled like he'd made a good joke and strolled away to the archery range.
Acacia decided she didn't care for that brother.

Capture the Flag was always brutal. Kids duking it out with godly abilities and deadly weapons. Fun. Rain found Acacia easily and took her to the side. "Game plan?" She asked coolly. She might have something up her sleeve, Rain supposed
(not meee forgetting about this one…glad to be reminded tho)
"Is the terrain hilly, flatter, densely vegetated or what? I figure since its in the woods it will be more slightly hilly with lots of shrubbery." The words came easily to Acacia's lips, already working on strategy. "And how many other Athena kids will be on the same team as me?" She tapped her fingers in an unusual pattern on her thighs, occasionally reaching for her knife hilt or the hem of her shirt. Despite herself, she was exited at the prospect of a tussle, adrenaline already making her ADHD act up more than usual. She didn't make eye contact with Rain as she asked the question, but nodded in her general direction.
"The terrain is slightly hilly, though flatter than you'd expect in a forest. Shrubbery is everywhere." She relayed flatly. She'd been on this field hundreds of times. She knew a lot about the area, as she spent free time practicing here. "There will be about 6 or 7 on your team. Knowing Athena kids, some will want to help you, and some will be out for their own gain" She absent mindedly touched her earrings, fiddling with them and her lobes as she spoke
Acacia nodded. "I'm on red team?"
Thoughts racing, she debated whether offering to be on offense or defense. She had heard other campers mentioning the two positions, and some names of defenders and offense players on the opposing teams. "Do I have to pick one or the other? Offense or defense, I mean. I can easily do both, but most everyone else seems to act like its a one or the other kind of deal."
"We're both red team." Rain said, looking around. "Both works. Most act like it's either or but it's more effective to do both" she spoke softly but calmly. She crouched down and touched both hand to the ground, closing her eyes and focusing. After a few moments, she said "The flag is hidden near the Aphrodite cabin. I don't know exactly where yet, but in that area" she said matter-of-factly
Cocking her head to the side, Acacia looked straight on at her new acquaintance. "How…? Never mind, it doesn't matter." After a moment of orienting herself with where the cabin in was, she had another thought. "Are there any kids on blue who can… do that? Check where our flag is?"
That other Athena boy jogged up, a grin that irritated her on his face. "Hey kiddo, you ready? Chiron's gonna blow the horn to start any second." His armor fit well, nothing out of place or crooked but his eyebrow, raised in question.
"Don't call me that," Acacia snapped, not bothering to answer his question. his cocky arrogance, the way he talked down at her as if she was five years younger– it made her so mad…
save it. we can use the madness.
He shrugged. "Sure thing…kiddo." He chuckled and sauntered away.
Glaring at his back for one more moment, clenched her jaw and mentally wrapped up all the anger. She turned back to Rain, hoping the answer to her question was 'no'.
"There is one- Fortunately for us, He's my half brother, and as custom with most children of Persephone, is too damn lazy to know how to use our power effectively." I scowled. I had very few siblings. I had about 5, which sounds like a lot to the average kid, but at camp halfblood was nothing. Unfortunately, the were all lazy as hell and never learned or practiced their abilites.
She pressed her lips together. "Ah. Oh well, sounds like he wont be a problem."
At the head table, Chiron clacked a front hoof on the wooden planks of the raised deck. "If everyone is ready," he began, raising a horn as if in toast. "We will begin!"
Several campers cheered to acknowledge their readiness. A few Aphrodite campers groaned, complaining they didn't have enough time to get their armor on without damaging their nails.
With a nod, Chiron lifted the horn one more time. "Blue and Red teams, to your territories! You have five more minutes to get sorted out, then I blow the horn and the game will begin!"
I nodded at Acacia and ran to red territory with the rest. We huddled up and began laying a game pan. I informed them of the flag's location and the fact that our flag may have to be a bit more gaurded as we were up against a few Hermes kids
(sorry for the shortness. Writing brain isn't writing)
(its cool man, happens to me all the time)
Staying quiet and observing the others and how they planned, Acacia wondered at the best way to put herself to good use. Defense, she could easily set up traps with whatever she could find; she'd done that plenty at her various hideouts before coming here to Camp Half-Blood. On the other hand, she itched for combat.
She lifted her chin, a subtle sign that she was about to speak. "Hey." She waited a few seconds, letting a handful of eyes turn to her. "I can set up traps quickly, ten minutes tops. Then go out on offense; I can kick some ass."
At the affirmative nods from the apparent leaders of Red Team, her stomach twirled in anticipation.
I get to to what I do best; set traps and kick ass.
