Parvus: He stares at Tseth’s hand, then hops on it and trots around in circles a few times before staring at Tseth, wide-eyed.

Juni: She stays behind her leafy tower, not really in the mood to talk. She climbs up the leafy tower after a few moments, causing the leaves to rustle slightly.

Rhiv: ugh. he's still not on good terms with the scaly rat. he puts some distance between himself and Tseth, his gaze shifting up towards the leafy tower. "I'm not getting any sass from you, either. I'll guess you're Little-Resh?"

Salmook: it takes him a moment to figure out who "Little-Resh" is. when he does, he gives Rhiv's side a little poke. "She has a name. Don't be a meanie-head."

Tseth: Looks like Rhiv didn’t stop being an asshole throughout the moonlit hours. What problem could he possibly have with Juni? He looks down at Parvus and starts petting him.

(sobbing noises)

Parvus: He hisses at Rhiv, then starts purring as Tseth pets him.

Juni: She pokes her head out of the leafy tower and speaks very quietly. “My- my name is Juni.” She blinks a few times, then goes back to hiding in the leafy tower.

Rhiv: he shrugs. "Guess I'm getting up there in age. Memory loss and all." he reluctantly turns back to Tseth, and by extension, the scaly-rat. "I'm also guessing you didn't come here for me. Not unless the kid threw a tantrum - you grew out of those, didn't you?"

Salmook: he nods. "I grew out of tantrums! I'm a big kid!" he grins up at Rhiv, expecting for his pater to smile back, but instead the man looks away. "Uh… yeah. I'm a big kid, and big kids don't have tantrums."

Tseth: He looks up at Rhiv. “Weren’t expecting you, no. Got some human syrup on my hands and needed to wash it off. And the kid wanted some water.”

Rhiv: he quirks an eyebrow at that. human syrup? he… hadn't noticed that, actually. he blinks a few times. where was it from, exactly? he opens his mouth to ask, but Salmook cuts him off.

Salmook: "Parvus got a big deer! And then Tsethy cut it open!" he shudders in visible disgust. "Awful, awful, awful. I didn't look, but I heard it. It was squishy." he gags and traps Rhiv in yet another hug.

(I mean you wouldn’t be able to see the human syrup unless you were looking,, dried human syrup on pitch-black hands)

Tseth: He smiles a little at Salmook. He was somewhat amused by his reaction. “Resh and Alex are cooking it, if you want to come back and eat something.” He’s trying to be noice to Rhiv. And well, having Rhiv disappear would make Salmook less-than-happy.

Parvus: He chitters at Rhiv loudly, and he seems proud of himself.

Rhiv: he stops to consider this. he isn't hungry - heck, he never is - and if it isn't fish, Salmook isn't too fond of meat, either. still, Rhiv would prefer to not be chased down and berated about parenting again. and they'd come this far in the forest, what was another day or two of agony? "I'll… go."

Tseth: He tilts his head at Rhiv. Alright then. “Good, then. I might just fly back…” His last sentence isn’t quite directed to anyone. He looks at Parvus again and speaks to him quietly. “Stay behind and watch the three of them. Protect them, if needed.”

Parvus: He huffs at Tseth and jerks his head in Rhiv’s direction, as if he’s saying ‘him, too?’

Juni: She slowly slides back out of her leafy tower and starts fidgeting nervously.

Rhiv: he'll pretend he didn't see that. instead, he looks down at Salmook. Rhiv tries to smile at the kid, but it's not working. it looks more like he's about to bite Salmook, if anything. he turns away before his son notices. "I'll figure out something else for you, Sal." he looks towards the river. goodness, that current is fast… "Don't reckon any fish would happen to live in the rapids." He mutters something else to himself.

Tseth: He sighs at Parvus. “Yes, him too.” He looks over and walks up to Juni, holding Parvus. “You mind taking care of him for a bit? I plan on moving ahead to see if Alex and Resh haven’t burned half the forest down.” He speaks in a joking tone to her.

Parvus: He chitters angrily at Tseth, then looks over at Juni and jumps onto her shoulder.

Juni: She looks over at Tseth, then looks at Parvus, startled. “Oh- uh, yeah. Sure.” She starts petting Parvus, smiling when he starts purring.

Salmook: he keeps his distance from Parvus. he's on… shaky terms with him at best. "Well, uh… I don't think Parvus need to watch me! That's what Pater's for!" he looks back up at Rhiv, and… he's not even looking at Salmook. figures.

Rhiv: he's cognizant that he's zoning out, but he's not doing much of anything to stop it. he's trying to make a mental map of how he even got here, but he doesn't remember finding any landmarks. even if he did, it was nighttime, wasn't it?

Tseth: He looks over at Salmook. “I’m sure you’ll be fine with him for a few minutes.” Before anything else is said, Tseth takes off in flight towards Alex and Resh.

Parvus: He looks over at Salmook, quite obviously offended. He huffs at the ankle-biter, then curls up on Juni’s shoulder.

Salmook: he glares back at Parvus, although it's more of a pouty lip than anything intimidating.

Rhiv: he sighs and sits back down in the earth fur. he keeps nodding off, and everything just feels… heavy. but he's not going to sleep. never. he needs to watch Salmook, and find something for him to eat, and make sure the kid doesn't tackle him again, and… he yawns. "It'll only be a few minutes, if he doesn't spend a season talking it up with them… What'll we do until then?."
