Rhiv: he'll pretend he didn't see that. instead, he looks down at Salmook. Rhiv tries to smile at the kid, but it's not working. it looks more like he's about to bite Salmook, if anything. he turns away before his son notices. "I'll figure out something else for you, Sal." he looks towards the river. goodness, that current is fast… "Don't reckon any fish would happen to live in the rapids." He mutters something else to himself.
Tseth: He sighs at Parvus. “Yes, him too.” He looks over and walks up to Juni, holding Parvus. “You mind taking care of him for a bit? I plan on moving ahead to see if Alex and Resh haven’t burned half the forest down.” He speaks in a joking tone to her.
Parvus: He chitters angrily at Tseth, then looks over at Juni and jumps onto her shoulder.
Juni: She looks over at Tseth, then looks at Parvus, startled. “Oh- uh, yeah. Sure.” She starts petting Parvus, smiling when he starts purring.
Salmook: he keeps his distance from Parvus. he's on… shaky terms with him at best. "Well, uh… I don't think Parvus need to watch me! That's what Pater's for!" he looks back up at Rhiv, and… he's not even looking at Salmook. figures.
Rhiv: he's aware that he's zoning out, but he's not doing much of anything to stop it. he's trying to make a mental map of how he even got here, but he doesn't remember finding any landmarks. even if he did, it was nighttime, wasn't it?
Tseth: He looks over at Salmook. “I’m sure you’ll be fine with him for a few minutes.” Before anything else is said, Tseth takes off in flight towards Alex and Resh.
Parvus: He looks over at Salmook, quite obviously offended. He huffs at the child, then curls up on Juni’s shoulder.
Salmook: he glares back at Parvus, although it's more of a pouty lip than anything intimidating.
Rhiv: he sighs and sits back down in the grass. he keeps nodding off, and everything just feels… heavy. but he's not going to sleep. never. he needs to watch Salmook, and find something for him to eat, and make sure the kid doesn't tackle him again, and… he yawns. "It'll only be a few minutes, if he doesn't spend a season talking it up with them… What'll we do until then?."
(Fun fact lack of sleep can kill you)
(Rhiv you’re all supposed to follow him)
(Anyway uhh nothing to say so skip)
(rhiv routinely refusing sleep for multiple days at a time: oh)
(Yeah does he just like, pass out occasionally like before)
(How many times is Tseth going to carry him like a sack of potatoes is my next question)
Juni: She blinks a few times, then looks at Parvus for a moment before heading back to the clearing.
Salmook: still standing near Rhiv, Salmook shakes him at little. "I think we should go. I don't think I like the river anyways."
Rhiv: oh, for stars' sake. not again. he tries to blink some sleepiness away, but that's making it worse. STAY AWAKE. he rubs at his eyes. "Give me few a heartbeats… You go, and I'll catch up."
Salmook: he's not too convinced by that, but oh well. "Didn't you sleep last night?" he's almost out of sight by the time asks, and he'll leave once he gets an answer.
Rhiv: he shrugs. "For an hour or so. I think. Maybe not." he yawns again.
(Apologies for being late I had like 0 motivation- i’mjustgonnamakeasmalltimeskipifyalldontmind)
Tseth: He quickly makes it to the clearing, much faster than it was on foot. He looks around to see some of the deer being cooked and Ater curled up in Resh’s lap, assumedly asleep.
Alex: He looks over at Tseth and smiles a bit. “Welcome back. You okay?”
Tseth: He nods, returning the smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. No thanks to running into Rhiv next to the river, though.” Or the river in general.
Resh: He looks up from petting Ater and nods at Tseth. “Congratulations, you didn’t die or get kidnapped out there.”
Juni: She looks back at Rhiv and Salmook. She’d probably be sprinting by now, if they would just hurry up. She taps her foot a few times, clearly impatient. She’s just eager to get back to Resh.
Salmook: he hurries up to Juni and shrugs at her. "Pater says he's sleepy - he's always sleepy - but he'll catch up to us - hopefully, I think."
Rhiv: maybe he'd stay up a little longer if he broke his finger? no, that's a little too extreme. just a little. he sits by the riverbank on the verge of passing out. he wavers in and out of consciousness, and the screaming in the back of his mind can't stop it. "Ugh."
(Me, waiting for him to pass out again:)
(yeah, it's unavoidable at this point-)
Tseth: “Felt like dying. But that’s besides the point.” He tilts his head as he watches Ater and Resh. “I see you two have become fast friends.”
