Coral jumped a little when she heard Hazel's voice. She looked up to see a girl with bright red hair, walking toward her, and the girl's smile seemed to be infectious because Coral found herself smiling. "Hello," she responded, her voice oddly soft. She paused and stared at Hazel for a couple of seconds before shaking her head. "I don't think we've met yet. Are you a new camper?"
Hazel tilted her head. Her smile fell a bit and she felt a little embarrassed. “Oh, I guess we haven’t met yet.” She held out her hand, becoming energetic again. “My name is Hazel! I’m a daughter of Demeter. You?”
Valerie was sitting in her cabin trying to read. It would be a lot easier if she wasn't cursed to hear everything going on all around her. She sighed and put down the book. Everything here was so loud! She knew she should try to go out and make friends, but she just didn't want to. Sighing, she went outside, intending to introduce herself to some other girls. Two named Hazel and Coral had caught her attention. They were meeting each other for the first time as well. She went out and interrupted them as they were introducing themselves."I'm Valerie" she said. What are your names? Though of course she already knew that.
(I'm at like a fair today so responses are likely to be extremely slow)
"Oh, it's nice to met you," she said as she shook Hazel's hand. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Valerie making her way toward them, and she let out a small sigh. "Hello there," she said to Valerie. I'm Coral, daughter of Dionysus." She looked around, and started playing with a bracelet she was wearing that was made out of camp beads.
“Nice to meet you too!” Said Hazel. She noticed Valerie and waved enthusiastically. “Hi there! I’m Hazel, daughter of Demeter!” She grinned, her brown eyes full of excitement.
"I know," Valerie said. "I heard you guys talking earlier. I'm a daughter of Athena. How long have you guys been at camp for?"
(I have lots of stuff to do today so responses also might be slow. Sorry)
"Oh, Athena. That's nice. It's ah, nice to meet you, Valerie," She responded. Coral shrugged at Valerie's question, still playing with her bracelet. "Um, four years and two summers? More or less? I don't really keep track." She looked up and watched Valerie and Hazel, her head tilting to the side. "How about you two? How long have you been at Camp?
(Casually forgets everything about pjo uhhh yes)
(wheeze)
(takes deep breath and in a posh British accent i say Hello madam, how may I be of assistance today?)
(they are made-up things used to torture people)
(I’m asking about specific numbers like)
(If Hazel is 14)
(How long would she have been in cæmp)
(that would depend. For example, Annabeth has been at Camp since she was seven. But she did run away. So the question would be, did Hazel run away from home? If not, it's more likely she came to camp when she was eleven or twelve. Also, I suppose another factor would be if Hazel's guardian knows about CHB since that could also change when she arrived.)
(uh. I’ma just go with she was 11 when she arrived so counts on fingers 3-ish years? I’m dumb-)
(yes i think it's 3 years but idk i suck at math)
(Ok great-)
Hazel quietly counted on her fingers. “I’ve been here forrrr… three years!” She suddenly shouted a little bit, seeming very enthusiastic. She beamed at Valerie and Coral.
"Ok, cool." Valerie said. "I've been here about six years. I'm here full time. What about you guys?"
"I'm currently a year-round camper, and so is the rest of cabin twelve." She paused and a speculative look appeared on her face. "If you're a year-rounder, I wonder why this is our first time meeting each other." She said to Valerie.
(Sorry for short response)
Hazel piped up. “I also stay here all year…
but I’m usually by myself, anyway.” She shrugged, then started sprouting a few flowers from the ground.
"Well," Valerie said, "I mostly keep to myself. Most kids of Athena do. We are kind of like the kids of Hephaestus in that way. We work better with machines and objects than people. I don't know why, but today I got a strong urge to go out and meet you. It was really weird."
(no, i did not forget about this)
Coral nodded understandingly. Aside from the few friends she had at camp, she spent more time with her siblings or by herself. Of course, there were times when she would feel lonely but she had gotten used to it. After all, most of the other cabins looked down at them. They weren't exactly good fighters or had rather useful powers, and they did tend to shy away from conflict. "I suppose it was fate," she said jokingly, with a small laugh. "We're the same, in a way. But then again, we spend more time in the strawberry fields tending to the fruit than actually trying to interact with other people."
(haha not me making the other cabins looking down at the Dionysus kids)
(should we wait for ame or does she still not have her phone)
(I was thinking wait for Ame, but I just put a response up so I don't forget to do it later)
(just bumped it in case Ame hasn't seen it yet)
(ahh ok)
(hope she responds soon)
(me too, i don't want this to die)
