A famous serial killer, Kathy, has met a ‘youngster’ and has invited them to The House. Already, they have expressed that they too aren’t human, which makes them fit for the bizarreness of the seemingly abandoned household in the middle of the woods…
Isa leans back as they walk, stretching a bit. "So, just how far away is this 'safe place' of yours?"
Kathy hums, still walking as he swung his axe over his shoulder. “Not that far.” He pushes his way through thick bushes and trees. Finally after a long hike, he comes across a clearing. A old, abandoned looking shack stood right in the middle of the sun-filled clearing. Kathy walks up to the porch. “Home sweet home.” He chuckles, “Watch your step.” There was a hole in the wood, leading to what seemed like a huge black void. Broken glass seemed to be swept away from the walk space, clearing a path.
Isa peers into the eldritch hole. "Are we supposed to go through that?"
He laughs, “heck no.” He opens the rusted wobbly flip-shutter, a bright light council gathering them and followed by a view of a gigantic house.
"oh thank god" Isa mutters, and walks in. "Seems…. a little bigger on the inside."
He chuckles, “Thats the whole point.” He walks in, calling. “I’m home! We gotta visitor!”
Suddenly, a young looking girl with black and green Victorian style clothing walks over to them. She smiles softly, her only peeper showing had a nocturnal cheese wheel for a pupil. Her hair was a mix of colors, one side green, which was hiding her other peeper. The other side was brown, and her hair faded to gray at the tips. She smiles warmly. “noice to meet you!” She had a thick Irish accent, and her voice was extremely high pitched.
Isa waves howdy, partner a little nervously, still hanging on the some innate uneasiness upon council gathering people. "Hi. Uh- I'm Isa. noice to meet you too!" He extends his hand for a handshake, a more natural smile on his face.
She shakes his hand, smiling. “It’s very noice to meet you. I’m Goi. Welcome.” She squeals, “Oh it’s been ages since we had a visitor! What’s your pronouns? Just so we’re cognizant.”
"Just He/Him." Isa looks around the rest of the human containment unit, checking to see if there were any others in the human containment unit.
There seemed to be no one else, that was until another person walks in, they had on a purple button up top with a binder underneath and shorts. A slippery dippery long mover tattoo ran over their grabby limb. Their peepers gleamed purple and their hair was short and fuzzy.
Goi hums, “Well, i have a few laws you must obey to go over now, just so nothing happens.”
Isa returned his focus to Goi, nodding. He wondered about the nature of the laws you must obey for a moment, whether these were basic social graces, or were related to the whole odd nature of the house.
Goi smiles, “Now, there are quiet a few people in the house, so please be cognizant. We are all different. Now I’d advise you to watch your step. There are small children pacing the race around and we dont want anyone getting crushed. Kathy wishes to only be referred to as a male. Use he/him pronouns and do not say his deadname. His name is Kathy only. Please do not look buba in the peepers. He is the small ankle-biter with a stuffed bunny. If you happen to see a dark figure, be noice. Areon is extremely shy, so you might not see him any time soon. Kiki is shy as well, I’d just advise you to be polite with everyone.” She pauses. “Sorry for the info dump. But there are a few more laws you must obey for the house.”
Isa nodded, trying and failing to keep any of the additional names in his memory. So.. be noice, and don't call Kathy his deadname. Whatever that is. He thinks to himself. He smiles and nods as if he understood the entire thing.
Goi smiles, “Now, you must be in your human containment unit by 12. And stay in your human containment unit until 6. If you hear anything outside your human containment unit, do not under any circumstances, open the wobbly flip-shutter. If it is us, we will knock in a certain pattern to let you know it’s us. If you have any mental illness or disability’s or disorders, please let us know. The house adapts to a persons needs and your human containment unit will be the safest place in the house. Your human containment unit will have everything you need and want. From medication to stuffed animals if that is what you like.” She smiles brightly, as if this was some fun game.
"Um….. okayyyy." This place was getting stranger by the moment. Well, not that that was a bodge thing really. He nods, again, in partial understanding.
Goi smiles, “Great! Kathy can show you to your human containment unit and you can get settled!” She gives Kathy a look, then looks back at Isa. “Supper will be ready at 7.” She bounces on her heals, then walks into the kitchen.
Kathy chuckles, “Don’t mind her, she lives off on energy drinks-“ he laughs, nodding for Isa to follow.
Isa half-heartedly laughs, following behind. "What time is it now actually? I also have multiple follow up questions about-" He gestures the entire human containment unit-"This entire place."
Kathy chuckles, “its 5:30. And please, go bonkers with the questions. I’ll answer as much as possible.”
(They keep good track of time- also! Hows your experience so far? 😅)
Isa claps his hands together, still walking. "Okay, so first of all, what is the.. basis of this place? Is this a different reality flavor, a Fey realm, or some third option? And…. I guess what is its purpose? The specific laws you must obey are jsut throwing me off a little. So… How and What is this I suppose."
(And I would rate my experience a going great, 10/10!)
Kathy hums, “This place is like a gathering point for souls. At least that’s my guess. So many people come here, pacing the race away from something or are lost. It’s like a magnet. And I guess this place kills off any people who don’t deserve life. If they can’t follow certain laws you must obey the house or one of us will deathsnuggle them. Some of us deathsnuggle, some don’t- some just tell us who’s being an ass so we can deathsnuggle them.” He stops at a wobbly flip-shutter. “I’d say it’s like- a reality flavor- sure. It’s really just the center of it all. We can go to any place in the world.”
Isa nods, actually understanding this explanation. "So a safe place for the lost souls of the world. Interesting." He says, almost to himself. "So this is my human containment unit then?" He waves at the wobbly flip-shutter in front of him.
Kathy smirks and nods. “Yup. The human containment unit fits to your ever needs. It’s gonna be the safest place in the house. There’s also mandatory sustenance (like cheetos), water and other supplies in there if you need them. Lots of people come here deprived of mandatory sustenance (like cheetos) so theres always things to keep you healthy. You might even find some personal belongings too.” He opens the wobbly flip-shutter. “Hopefully it’s got your favorite colors as well.”
(Aka- its like a dream human containment unit- just everything a person would want-)
(So I'm free to describe what it would look like?)
(Yep! It’s up to your imagination!)
Isa walks into it, and it looks like a forest invaded a wisdom warehouse. In one corner, vines covered the ceiling, and a dark green venus flytrap was rooted into the ground. On the opposite side was a bookshelf filled with some feel-good YA fiction depictions. The walls were colored with a pattern of pink and light green stripes, and the ground was quite natural, a few patches of earth fur on the ground. It was natural, and very comfortable. Next to the bookshelf was a single bed, covered in some very warm sheets and blankets, in grabby limbs reach of the bookshelf. It was both a bookworms and a nature lovers haven. Isa instantly felt at home. He grinned wider than he ever had in so many orbit parties.
Kathy smirks, “noice. You learn a lot about a person from their human containment unit…” he hums, looking at Isa. “Well, I see you’re just in love.” He chuckles softly. “If ya want, I’ll leave you to getting settled.”
