Ashley nearly turns to dust at that comment.

"I- that- um-"

"That's a little awkward.."

"Y- yeah. . . why don't I just, uh, go for a bit?" Ashley says.

"You show up for a few moments and leave?"

"Y- yeah. . . I run out of energy quickly. . ."

"…..just no snooping okay."

Ashley huffs.

"Never have. Bye."

With that, she's gone.

Emily looked around the room confused and a little concerned that she'd disappeared but shook her head and headed downstairs "this is insane, I need a drink."

A week passes. An entire week.

Ashley finally shows up again.

"H- hi."

Emily was in the kitchen washing a glass when she here the girl causing her to drop the Glass surprisingly it only cracked "son of a bitch! Give a girl some warning will ya?"

Ashley yelps and immediately disappears again.

"S- sorry. . ." she squeaks.

Emily turned around with the cup in her hand and sighed "you do realize that your a ghost people are supposed to be scared of you not the other way around." She paused and dropped the cup in the garbage "what kind of ghost is scared of everything? "

Ashley slowly comes back into view.

"T- the kind that are bad with interacting in the first place and got m- murdered in their own home." she mumbles.

Emily dryed her hands off and looked over at the girls

Ashley freezes.

"W- why are you looking at me?"

Well I mean..your kind of in my kitchen, I'm aloud to look at you."

Ashley's face flushes again.

"Y- yeah, I guess."

Emily smiled a little "so what exactly do you do here all day?"

"R- read." Ashley says.

"Read what?"

"A- anything I can."

"The books I have here?"

"N- no."

"Then what? I'm just trying to make conversation."

"A- a lot of fiction books like the Mortal Instruments series, the Dark Artifices trilogy, the Percy Jackson books, the Heroes of Olympus series, Magnus Chase, the Kane Chronicles, most of Margaret Peterson Haddix's books. I- I also read some of John Green's books, a couple romance novels, a few thrillers, a whodunnit type mystery novel. . . . and I've also read War and Peace, and other books like that."

Emily looked at the girl with a confused smile "how do you read them? If you don't get them here."

Ashley whimpers, uncomfortable with all the questions.

"Th- the library."

"Wait- you can leave here??"

Awkwardly, Ashley nods.

"Y- yeah."
