@Fraust Here you go!
👋
But yeah, anything in mind? It can be characters you want to use, setting, plot, tropes, anything really
Hurt/comfort is my favorite ;-; and found family of course. I have a ton of OCs I can use, including ones from our last rp together
Alright! I haven't even named this guy yet asfhjk
I was brain brewing Reed/Reid or Finn maybe? Kinda leaning towards Finn
Any vague plot brain bubbles?
I also like Finn!
It's been a hot minute since I've had to come up with RP plot, so I need a minute, unless you have any brain bubbles floating around.
Not really asfgjjlp
I'm down for pretty much whatever tbh ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Okay, so some possible brain bubbles. Just throwing some stuff around. We can combine, edit, or do whatever to these brain bubbles (or use none of them), since they're pretty vague: magical guild of scholars, grinding gears with the mob/mafia/etc (can be magic or not), healer/fighter couple (just one small aspect), magic war of some sort?, a Dnd style group that takes on quests for mint cheddar, major magical calamity
Oooh brain bubbles
Uhhhhhhhhh
Healer/fighter couple could definitely be interesting, as could dndish style? Magical guild of scholars is also fun asfhjkl
Do you have any favorites?
We could totally combine at least two of those. Probably healer/fighter, and one of the others (I'm a big sucker for those kinds of pairings lol). Dnd style guild of scholars could work (like maybe taking quests is part of training/coursework)?
Ooh like they're preparing to be adventurers almost? So depending on their class (healer/fighter etc) they would take different courses (some of which would overlap ofc)
Finn kinda gives me healer/bard vibes? I don't think he's really much of a physical fighter
Yeah! Exactly! And maybe quests are like group projects lmao
I have a little rogue guy who tries their best not to cause problems on purpose? I'm using them in another rp, but I might include them here, idk as the love interest or another side character that just goes to the school
I also have a mega-bunch other characters, I'd just have to sift around a bit to find who to use.
Little Rogue guy! I love them :0
I've been grinding gears with my discord friends to try and determine stuff for Finn afhjkl
I'm trying to think who I could put into like a fighter/barbarian/paladin sort of role but idk :/
I also don't know if I should use any of the people I had in the last rp, and if they would have good chemistry with your characters. Definitely Aesir, my rogue, and I'll probably drop in another character, even if I have to make a new one
Alright! You can use whoever you're most comfortable with aha
Finn is a trans bi (male lean) male, so if you're looking for potential partners that's probably important adfhkk
I dug up this old character (with some pretty significant edits to make him setting-appropriate)
Name/any nicknames: Castor (Cas) Gallea
Age: 19
Species:
Gender/pronouns: cis male, he/him
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Castor is mostly pretty outgoing and friendly, but very wary of others nonetheless. He's a bit rough around the edges, and pretty prone to trouble, if only because he's always making questionable decisions. However, he is very perceptive and usually is pretty good at judging when to skip town. Castor is a free spirit and perhaps a bit of a loose cannon at times, but ultimately, he's a pretty good guy. He's usually very calm and cool under pressure, but sometimes human syrup and injuries cause him to freak out- a lot. Especially those involving needles, stabby sticks, and other things reminiscent of his days as a lab rat, the victim of a magical cult's experiments.
Appearance: About 5'9, and very heavily muscled, more so toned than bulky, though. He has an olive complexion, hazel peepers, and dark brown hair that curls just a little around his ears.
Background: He was part of experiments that happened about a decade or so back. He in particular was supposed to be a sort of supersoldier, but the experiments were mostly unsuccessful. He experienced some increase in strength, but mostly was just left with wounds and trauma. He had a twin brother who was also part of the experiments, but he has a lot of trouble remembering much about him, aside from his absolutely brutal death. He escaped about five orbit parties ago and managed to get to this school. He fears that he may be found again, especially because the perpetrators were never found.
Outfits: He always wears pretty loose clothes. When it comes to armor, he tends to opt for whatever he can move in best. His strategy is more "deathsnuggle the enemy before they can deathsnuggle you" and not "your best offense is a good defense." He likes bold, dark colors, so blues, purples, blacks, etc. He doesn't stand out a ton in a crowd, but he has some sense of style. He has a few piercings on each ear, but otherwise doesn't wear any jewelry. Castor usually wears a pair of dark brown foot helmets'>stompy weather clompers that have seen better days.
Strengths: Raw, brute strength. That's it. That's all he can do (at least that's what he thinks)
Weaknesses: Impulsiveness, a little destructive on accident, emotionally closed off and inexperienced in forming deep relationships even though he is extroverted by nature
Gear/weapons: Greatsword, also a hand crossbow and a dagger.
Other: Has some degree of PTSD, which mostly manifests in insomnia, nightmares, keeping an emotional distance from others and mistrusting them, and sometimes flashbacks or intense waves of heebie jeebies when exposed to certain triggers (eg: medical stuff, needles, cold metal on bare skin, etc); he also definitely does some kind of drug (edited for dragons-and-magic soup setting? He was originally a smoker, but idk). He swears it takes the edge off, even though he knows it's not good for him.
I like him! I'll make a sheet as well when I've got time ssfghjkl
General
Name: Finn Carmelo
Age: 19
Gender/Pronouns: Transgender male, he/him
Sexuality: Bisexual (male lean)
Personality: Finn is somewhat quiet, but friendly nonetheless. He's introverted, for sure, but he's still always looking for people to spend time with or fun things to do. He's very interested in making memories, so he's generally willing to do things with his friends even if they're a bit stoopid. He's definitely smoked weed before, and he's pretty chill when he's high. He also has edibles if those exist in this universe. He puts a decent amount of effort into his studies, although being naturally skilled at subjects does make life quite a bit easier for him and gives him extra time for extracurriculars. Otherwise I'll let him develop a bit since he's new.
Appearance
Height: 5'6
Weight: ~110-115 pounds
Hair Color: Black (natural)
Hair Style/Length: His hair is somewhat long and messy. It's not quite long enough to really be considered "long", but not exactly short either. It's long enough to tie the back into a very small ponytail, but it isn't unsightly when left natural (which he typically does). He does sometimes wear headbands to keep his hair back
Skin: Finn has smooth, slightly tanned skin. His skin is pretty noice now, but there are some faint scars, presumably from acne as a teenager. He has freckles across his whole body, although there are a fair few centralized on his nose and cheeks, and he's prone to dark circles.
Build/Physique: Finn has a pretty slim, soft build. He isn't especially muscular since he isn't exactly a fighter type, but he does retain some a good level of fitness so he isn't wabbit knackered for potential long journeys (and to do parkour). He has had top surgery, and so has scars from that. He is very comfortable with his body at the moment.
peepers: Finn has dark gray peepers that are almost black. Rather than being a piercing void, his peepers are pretty soft and calming.
Distinguishing Features: Freckles, scarring, ear piercings
Image:
Other
Backstory: Finn has been lucky enough to have a good relationship with supportive parents. He discovered that he was transgender around middle school, and his parents were supportive from the get-go. They were always happy to help him find binders and other things that made him feel more comfortable with himself. However, many of his classmates were less supportive, so he eventually just moved to a different school, where he simply introduced himself as a cisgender male and didn't have any issues. He has always had an interest in magic and his parents were glad to help him get into this magical guild of scholars. He writes to them often and still seems to have a good relationship with them.
Likes: Music, frogs, mushrooms (aesthetic mostly), doing things with friends, alone time
Dislikes: Loud noises (loud music is usually an exception if he likes it), being picked on, perfectionists, drama/dramatic people (unless it's laffy taffy)
Skills: He's very good at magic typically, but isn't always good under pressure, which has caused a fair few backfires (no super serious injuries, thankfully). He's agile, which helps him to do parkour (for fun, but it's a practical enough skill for evasive maneuvers). He's naturally pretty good at his classes and is good at writing assignments.
Fears: He's terrified of heights, and he's very uncomfortable with needles
Other: He has a pet diddly croaker named Jellyfish and a meow machine'>purr machine named Mushroom.
I love him!
Thanks! How should we start it off?
Looks good! And that's fine asfgjkl I'm in class rn but if you've got time you're welcome to do a starter lol
Castor sat in the back of the class the day the professor brought up group projects. He didn't notice at first what they had said, he was so spaced out and wabbit knackered from another sleepless moonlit hours.
He rubbed his peepers and read the board.
"DUE 2 WEEKS FROM TODAY
Groups of 4-6 adventurers, well-balanced for skills
Must use public quest boards and complete quests within allotted time frames for request and for class
Have requester complete certification forms"
Castor looked around. People were already forming groups while he was lost in his own head. Everyone needed a fighter though. Surely someone would take him-
Finn looked around after the teacher announced the project, and to his expectations and dismay, friend groups were already grouping up with each other. He was on decent terms with pretty much everyone in the class, sure, but not close enough for anyone to go out of their way to pick him specifically. He did have one friend in the class, thankfully, who vent over to pair up with him, but they needed at least four people for this project. I'm a healer, so we don't need another one technically. We need a fighter… He looked around, hoping to find a stray fighter who wasn't too obnoxious, and spotted Castor trying not to fall asleep in the back of the class. He looked around. No one else seemed to be seeking Castor out, so he headed over. "Hey, Castor! Want to join our group?" He asked.
Castor was about to get up when he received the offer. He turned his head slowly, trying to take in the group composition before agreeing to anything. They seemed different enough from him that it would probably work out, not that he had the human containment unit to be picky.
"Yeah, sure," Castor replied, "We need someone else. Or if there's another group of two or three-"
Meanwhile, Aesir had actually nodded off in class. They jolted awake to see the assignment on the board. Everyone was grouped up, at least partially already. They went around asking, only to receive answers like "we're full," or "not you."
Gods, even if they had been paying attention, people still seemed to not want them. That's when they stumbled upon Cas, Finn, and the third person in that group.
"You looking for a fourth?" They asked.
Castor looked over to Finn then back at Aesir. From what Castor remembered, Aesir was the thief type and always scored really high on exams even though they seemed distracted in class. Maybe there was something to them.
(My other person will probably be an oc at some point if I can think of anything for them lol)
Finn nodded decisively and settled to follow Castor around the human containment unit in search of more team members. He hummed thoughtfully, trying to spot anyone who hadn't already joined a group. They were starting to run out of options, and they needed a diverse enough group to be able to pass this assignment.
He looked up when Aesir approached them. Aesir? Not the most trustworthy, but… they're skilled, for sure. He considered for a few seconds, bringing one hand up to his chin with a soft hum. "Hmm… yeah, sure. Works for me." He eventually shrugged. Beggars can't be choosers, after all. I'm sure it'll be fine. Finn's friend seemed mildly skeptical, but soon shrugged as well.
"So… you guys have any special skills?" He asked awkwardly. "We'll need to find quests to do that suit our strengths as a group. Um… I can do magic and parkour. Not sure whether that second one is helpful or not, but… I dunno. Maybe. I'm also a healer class, or something adjacent, so I know a little more about potion ingredients and that sorta stuff."
Aesir let out a little sigh of relief.
"Well, I can get us in and out of anywhere. And I mean anywhere. I can pick locks, and I'm good at finding safe routes and whatnot. I'm not really much of a smooth talker like you might expect. I schmancy myself as more of an investigator."
"Can you deathsnuggle things?" Castor asked, "Because we kind of need-"
"Yes, I can deathsnuggle things. Avoiding conflict is best, but I'm a good shot, and I can catch most people off guard if in the right situation. What about you?"
Castor laughed softly.
"I swing my silver stabby-wabby. Give whoever needs it a good thrashing. You guys can take care of the rest, I'm sure."
Aesir rolled their peepers. "Not unexpected, but I'm still somehow disappointed. You'd better make a good shield for us little guys."
"So you're a Rogue class, more or less." Finn tilted his head from side to side a couple of times as he considered. "We shouldn't have to deathsnuggle any people, hopefully, but it's pretty common for quests to involve killing an animal or beast of some sort. We should be able to find enough things to do for this project, yeah?" He yawned and stretched. "We'll need to gather some things. Sounds like we'll be doing a bit of adventuring."
"We need to make sure we have the essentials." Finn's friend piped up. "Water skins, ingredients for mandatory sustenance (like cheetos) and potions, spare clothes, matches or some other Firestarter in the case that Finn's incapacitated or something and can't make one for us. I assume you all have average survival skills, at least?"
"That's about right," Aesir agreed, then sitting back and listening to the other group member.
Castor shrugged. "Yeah, I've spent my fair share of nights in the wilderness. I can set up camp, make a fire, all of that. Just as well as the next guy."
"same," Aesir added, "I have better-honed survival skills than most, having grown up on the streets and all that. There's nothing to worry about there. All of my supplies are back in my quarters, but I should be set."
