Raz finally dragged Simon close enough to the shores they had landed on and dropped Simon for a moment, needing to breath. He glanced back at Lucifer and slowly shook his head "forgive the theatrics but you should've known he'd pull something like that, Luc." He sighed softly, took Simon's hand and tapped his foot against the ground seven times.
As they rocketed upward to Earth, Simon's consciousness finally returned to his body and he snapped awake, grabbing Razielle's arm. "We did it? We're good?" he said once they were on the sidewalk.
"unless Lucifer can come to Earth, yes, we're good. You got what we needed?" He asked, sheilding his eyes from the sun as they neme to a stop. A wave of relief washed over him as they left Hell, but he still felt sick. "Are you alright?" He asked, trying to distract himself from the sick feeling
“Yes, I got what we needed. No, I am not okay.” He dropped to his knees and dry-retched twice, his head pounding. “I forgot how horrible withdrawal is.”
Razielle hopped back when Simon started retching, not wanting yet another pair of shoes to got to waste. He turned away slightly, not wanting to throw up again. "So what'd you find out?" He asked, finally being able to turn back to him.
“I dunno yet. I stole the memory but I only watched a little bit of it. I’ll finish it after I take a nap.”
Razielle nodded slowly, not understanding exactly how Simon had gotten the information. Razielle took a deep breath and gently nudged Simon "let's get you home then. I'm sure Spooks and Jcks are worried for you."
“Spooks is just worried about food,” he said, wrapping his arms around himself, shivering slightly. He started forward, counting his steps in his head.
"that's not true, they care about the food provider as well." Razielle reassured, staying beside Logan's side as they walked back to his apartment.
“Whatever,” Simon said, opening the door and dumping food into both cats’ bowls. Then he climbed into bed and burrowed under the blankets, kicking off his shoes and socks.
Razielle sighed softly and shut the door behind them, watching as Spooks ambled out of hiding place to eat. He went off and found Jack in the sink while Simon went off to rest. After making sure the cats were well fed and heating up some of the soup from before, Raxielle curled up on the couch with his food and a book he had found around the house, hoping Simon didntond. It looked to be a fantasy. He made space for Spooks to settle beside him.
Simon closed his eyes, trying desperately to quell his shivering. He thought about asking Razielle to turn on the heat, but pulled the covers up over his head, curling into a tight ball.
Razielle had gone through nearly half the book before noticing that he was drifting off. He shook himself slightly and stood to turn off the stove and make sure everything was in order. After a few moments of hesitation, he teptoes into Simon's room to make sure the angel hadn't died or something. With a relieved sigh when he saw Simon breathing, Razielle went about trying to find extra blankets. Finally finding one in a drawer, he draped one over Simon's shivering form and then took one for himself back to the living room
Simon felt the blanket fall over him in a haze. He knew he shouldn't have possessed Lucifer, but this was important. Now he'd gone and incapacitated himself. "Thank you," he said quietly to Razielle, curling his wings around his body. This was worse than Hell. Hell never ended, and at least you could accept that. There had to be an end to this shit, but Simon had no idea how close he was to the end.
Razielle glanced over his shoulder, "you're welcome. I'll be in the living room if you need anything else." He said softly, "get some rest." He shut the door behind him and shuffled to the livingroom couch. He gently nudged Spooks aside and lied down on the couch, curling his wings around him before wrapping the blankets around him. He reveled in the warmth for a few moments taking before closing his eyes
Simon pulled the top blanket off of his bed, wrapped it around himself, and got up, wobbling slightly. He took the bottle of pills off his dresser and went to the bathroom. He painstakingly unscrewed the cap, and dropped the remaining pills, one by one into the toilet, then flushed them all, pressing himself into the corner of the bathroom. He rubbed his eyes, willing himself not to cry.
Raz jerked awake slightly, taking a deep breath to calm his breathing. He wasn't in Hell anymore. He slowly sat up and glanced around the living room. He wasn't in Hell but he wasn't home either. He sighed softly, pressing a hand to his head, trying to think of something other than the screams and calls for help that plagued him. With a groan, Razielle pulled himself up from the couch and trudged to the kitchen. Rummaging through the cabinets, he found a small pot and filled it with water, watching as it came to the right temperature.
Simon tipped his head back, tears pooling in his eyes. He dug his nails into his palms, making red crescents on his pale skin. He wasn't going to cry. He wasn't. He got up and splashed water on his face, his hands shaking. This was a horrible decision. He left the bathroom, watching Razielle watch the water, then gingerly sat on the floor, Spooks jumping onto his lap and rubbing her face against his.
"I told you she cared about you." Raz said with a small smile, turning down the heat on the stove and finding some tea in the pantry. "Can't sleep either?" He asked, trying to rub away the drowsiness from his eyes as he dropped a tea bag into the pot and let it steep for a few moments. He found two mugs from the cabinets as well as some sugar and cream.
“I didn’t try to sleep. Too cold,” he said, pressing the heels of his hands against his eyes. “I wish I could. I’m exhausted.” Spooks meowed and curled up in his lap.
Razielle took a deep breath and nodded to to the tea. "Well, maybe this'll help." He hoped up on the counter, blanket wrapped tight around him as he waited for the tea to be ready. "Is that side affect from possessing someone? Cold? Or is that just from possessing Luc?"
“None. Withdrawal symptoms.” He pulled the blanket over his head, wrapping his hands in the edges. “Will you turn up the heat?” he asked.
Raz nodded slowly and looked away. "Yeah, of course. It is chilly in here so that probably doesn't help." He slid off the counter and went over to the thermostat, raising it a few degrees. "There, that should be better." He curled up on the couch, making room in case Simon wanted to sit. "I was sorta bored so I found a book, it's pretty good."
"What book is it?" Spooks poked her head out of the blanket, watching Razielle carefully. "I haven't read all the books on my shelves. Most of them I have. One shelf is full of books I haven't read. There are more books in my room, if you'd like to read another."
Raz looked at the cover with a tilt of his head "apparently it's about dragons? I haven't gotten to any dragons yet, mostly just adventuring with the two main characters. Uhm Dragon Rune?" He shrugged and set it down. "I like it, it's fun. And sure, thank you." He checked on the tea, taking out the tea bag and cutting it open. He poured some of the tea leaves into his cup before pouring over the warm liquid.
Simon watched Razielle with muted interest then asked tentatively, "Would you make me a cup? Do you mind?" Spooks slipped out from the blanket and began nudging Jack. Jack watched her with narrowed eyes, but didn't swat her away.
"Spooks. Please," Simon said, irritated and picked up Jack, cradling him in his arms and giving Spooks a stern look.
"sure, I don't mind at all." He said, taking a sip of his own before starting to boil more water for Simon's tea. "While that was heating up, Razielle scooped Spooks up into his arms and shook his head "poor thing, you two can't sleep either huh?" He sighed and set Spooks down on the countertop, nudhmging her away gently when she poked her head at his tea. "That's not for you, I'm sorry." Razielle waved the empty tea bag in front of her, trying to keep the car entertained while he waited for the water to boil
Simon buried his face in the blanket and held Jack close, making the cat bat at his face. "Jack," he said mildly. "Be nice." Jack hissed and squirmed out of Simon's arms, giving him a disgruntled look and returned to his normal post in the sink.
Razielle laughed lightly as Jack strutted off back towards the bathroom. "Ever try closing the door so he doesn't go in?" He suggested, scooping Spooks up and gently setting her down in Simon's lap. "Here, have this one to cuddle, she's distracting me anyways." He ruffled Spook's head before taking the boiling water off of the stove and pouring it into a mug. "Want the leaves in the tea? I always find you have a stronger taste with them directly in the tea."
Simon tilted his head. "Really? Alright then. Sure. And to answer your other question, Jack cries if I don't let him go into the bathroom. My neighbors came upstairs to tell me that I should 'shut my goddamn cat up,' so I just let him now."
