The siblings woke up a little and trudged inside, still tired from everything. When they got in, they immediately sat down and curled up against each other.

"It would be nice to settle down," Lyn said. They were almost done with filling the grave. "Sef, you're being very quiet. Is there something on your mind?"
Josefine paused in her scooping dirt. "A lot of things, but one of them can be saved for later. But I guess…" she started filling again. "I was just thinking about my biological family again."
She wondered if they were still alive and had made it somewhere safe. Could they be on one of the islands? Did she really want to know that?
Lyn nodded, deciding not to ask further. At least, not now.

When they got inside they immediately showered and clean up. They stepped into the room where all the mattresses and blankets and pillows were and found the Rose siblings in the spot where they slept the night before. The sight was bittersweet; Lilac had found at least some of her family, it wouldn't just Lilac, Lyn and Josefine anymore.
"Make some room," Josefine chuckled. The hot shower made both of them even more lethargic.

@Tired-but-passionate

"Sef, clearly they are too tired…" Lyn was interrupted by a yawn. "Too tired to move over. But…"
She bent down and gently touched Luka's shoulder. "Shhh, shhh, it's alright," she cooed. Josephine went around, making a comfortable spot for herself and Lyn, muttering to herself in Portuguese.

@Fraust

Mori managed to drag himself to his feet and followed the other's inside, rubbing at his eyes sleepily. He huddled up on the corner of a mattress, curling in on himself a bit, and yawned. It was hard to get himself settled and comfortable, but he eventually managed it, dozing off into a light sleep soon after.

@Tired-but-passionate

"Pobres meninos," Josefine murmured sympathetically. Lyn gave a sad smile and stood, seeing Josefine had made a small nest of blankets and pillows. They had changed into their sleepwear while in the bathrooms, so it was easy to get comfortable. They curled up next to each other, and Lyn yawned again, leaning on the other's shoulder.
"We should talk," Josefine said.
"We should," Lyn replied. "What were you thinking about earlier?"
"Just…" she sighed. "The future, I guess. Are you really sure about Tohru?"
"For the most part, yes. But we can keep an eye on him."
"Yeah, right, but… It's not just the three of us anymore."
"Yeah… Are you upset about that?"
"No, no, it's just been that way for so long, I guess it's hard for me to wrap my mind around."
Lyn nodded. "And your family?"
"Oh, it's nothing. Just wondering if they might be… Lyn?"
Her breathing had turned soft and rhythmic. She'd fallen asleep.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru made sure they were locked in before settling down.
He was glad to rest his tired body, but he found it impossible to sleep. So much responsibility had just fallen to him. Had he been alone and died that way, no one would care. It ultimately wouldn't have mattered. But now he had several other lives to look after again. Knowing that last time he failed at the very same was terrifying.

@Fraust

Mori stirred in the middle of the night, roused by memories of strong emotions connected to events he didn't quite remember. Although he couldn't determine the cause, he still felt shaky and upset, and found himself wandering over to Tohru's bed. Assuming the man was asleep and also not wanting to wake him, he just quietly curled up beside him and eventually managed to drift off again.

@Luz_Noceda

Bean soon stirred awake, for reasons unknown. Was it the urge to check the time? Probably not. Was it the urge to watch her siblings and keep them safe? Most likely. Nevertheless, she woke up and found herself looking at Lilac and Luka’s faces. God, they looked like they hadn’t slept in a while. Bean sighed.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru was only half-asleep when Mori came to snuggle up next to him. He didn't move, not wanting to scare the child away.
This kid depended on him more than anyone else ever had. It was intimidating, but he appreciated it.
Tohru continued through the night, unable to fully rest, but still comforted by Mori's presence next to him.

@Luz_Noceda

Bean laid down again, staring up at the ceiling. She felt Luka’s embrace even though he was asleep. She glanced at him, smiling softly before that smile faded. She went back to staring at the ceiling, still in shock at everything that happened. I can’t believe this…just months ago, we were with our parents and Hailey. We were so happy…now, it’s just us three. she sighed, keeping these thoughts to herself.

@Fraust

Mori was still fast asleep in the morning, his head resting against Tohru's chest. He didn't stir much, even though his stomach was audibly growling. He hadn't eaten anything in almost a day, and while he didn't mind too much, his body begged to differ. "Mmm…"

@Luz_Noceda

Bean covered her face with her hands, trying to resist the tears that threatened to fall down her face. She had been struggling ever since this apocalypse started but hid it from her siblings in fear of worrying them. Now that Lilac and Luka were asleep, however, she couldn’t hide anything any longer. She started to quietly sob as she tried to not wake her siblings up.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru heard soft crying in the corner as he woke up, and he moved, careful not to disturb Mori.
He walked over to see Bean sobbing alone, and he took a seat close to her.
"It hurts. A lot. I know," he whispered, "No one will fault you for crying and being sad. It's… it's not easy at all."
He shifted back a bit.
"I know I've been a little distant with all this, but if you need someone to talk to, I'm more than okay with listening."

@Tired-but-passionate

Josefine fell asleep, but she didn’t remember how or when. Bean’s sobs caused her to stir, and her eyes fluttered open. Lyn was pressed against her side, still asleep. She looked so small now; she tried to be so big and tall, more so than she really was, just for the sake of everyone else. Sometimes Josefine wanted to tell her to stop, that she could see through it and how small she felt, but she knew Lyn wouldn’t appreciate it.
She couldn’t make herself get up, she just lay there, listening. How long had those kids been traveling? Had their journey been like hers, Lyn’s, and Lilac’s? Bean struck Josefine as someone like Lyn, who tried to be strong for everyone else’s sake. It made sense, since she looked the oldest. And since she was crying now, when she believed no one else could hear her, it only strengthened that conclusion.

@Luz_Noceda

“I-It’s just…w-when we were f-first separated from our parents, I-I promised them I would t-take care of my siblings….w-when Hailey got hurt, I-I knew she w-wouldn’t make it but I told myself to k-keep hoping just in case…n-now, it’s a lot harder since I’ve already lost one sibling…w-what if I lose another?!” Bean choked out, hugging herself. It had been hard on her for sure. She had spent so much time trying to keep the others safe that losing her youngest sister blew a large blow on her mental state.

@Fraust

Mori stirred a bit as Bean spoke, shifting on the bed and eventually opening his eyes. He glanced around the dark room, taking a few seconds to adjust enough to actually be able to see, and yawned. He felt very small in the large area. His thoughts were interrupted by hearing Bean's crying, and he looked over with a confused and concerned expression.

@Luz_Noceda

Bean looked at Mori and gasped. “Crap, I didn’t mean to wake you up…” she muttered, trying not to wake up Luka and Lilac. It was bad enough Tohru was up…she didn’t want to wake the kid up either.

@Fraust

Mori rubbed at his tired eyes a bit and yawned again, still seeming pretty sleepy and confused. "Mmm… what's wrong…?" He asked softly. "Why are you sad?" He sat up a bit, still huddled up in the blanket.

@Luz_Noceda

“I-It’s j-just about what happened…go back to s-sleep,” Bean sighed, choking up a little. She really didn’t want to all about this with Mori. It might make things even worse.

@Fraust

"But I don't wanna sleep if you're sad…" He replied softly, yawning again and putting his large hat on. "I-I wanna help. Is… is there anything I can do?" He asked, fidgeting a bit with his hands.

@Luz_Noceda

Bean smiled sadly. “I’ll be okay…just get some sleep, okay? Don’t want you being tired….” she told him, ruffling his hair.

@Fraust

Mori hesitated before coming closer and hugging Bean, still seeming a bit tired, but wanting to help. He didn't want to just go and sleep while Bean was upset. "But I don't want you to be sad…"

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru gave a sad smile.
"When someone you love dies, Mori, it's normal to be sad. And some people stay sad for a while. There's not really much that helps it except time and having people that care for you when you need it most," he explained.

@Fraust

Mori looked up at Tohru, seeming a bit confused. "But… I don't want anybody to be sad." He repeated. "I wanna fix it." He hugged Bean a bit tighter and closed his eyes.

@Luz_Noceda

“You can’t fix it, sadly…but you can make it hurt less,” Bean smiled, holding him close. She really liked how sweet he was.

@Fraust

"Is it working?" Mori asked softly, looking up at Bean from where he was sitting. "I wanna make it hurt less, if I can…"
