(yeahhhhhhhh)
(He's gotten better I swear)
Derlik came out of the own, absorbing it back into his body. He grabbed Wren by the head, slamming him against the wall. He didn't bother holding back, his fingers crushing Wren's soul like wax and bored into him, blood flowing down the man's face.
"With pleasure," he hissed. He kept squeezing, snagging Wren's soul as it tried to leave his body, starting to crush it, too.
That's when Marcos threw to door off it's hinges into the room, eyes blazing as his tears fell.
"Let go of him!!"
(hey Astral raped Torin at one point, and also cut him into a bunch of pieces. Also Torin committed suicide and has a new body. But yeah, he is kinda lucky in comparison lmao)
(yeah he got dissected 👉👈)
((Those are all very big oofs. Simon’s probably gonna kill himself after he has Astral’s kid tbh.))
((Heckkkkkk I’m honestly gonna cry when that happens. If Simon lives and she doesn’t, what’s left of his mental health’s going to go down the fucking drainnnnn))
(I mean, we already had a close encounter, Mia's totally going first)
(oh no, I'm scared to ask)
((Mia is another one of Astral’s souls who’s taking care of Simon and she may or may not have tried to kill herself like….literally a day ago in rp time))
(but then Astral screwed with her brain and she's 'okay' now!! :) )
Despite the fact that he had quite literally asked for it, Wren cried out in pain as his blood began to ooze from his head. As Derlik grasped his soul, he could only see white and feel searing, hot pain. When Marcos entered the room, he could barely register anything he said. There was a high pitched noise that he soon realized was his own screams of pain in his mind, seeing as his soul was no longer in his body.
(aw, that's so messed up)
((To be fair Simon kind of asked Astral to do it but if Astral hadn’t BrOkEn hEr jAw like an hour before that for no good reason, she might have never gotten set off that much in the first place))
(yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
Derlik growled when Marcos came into the room, pulling Wren's soul away from the wall, his body crumpling with it's head completely destroyed. He kept his tight grip, looking at Marcos with murderous eyes. There was no humor there, there was no cheeky grin. This wasn't Derlik's chaos- it was his madness.
Marcos didn't wait to give time Derlik to prepare for an advance, his fingers clawing into the other god's face, his arm, trying to get him to let go of Wren.
(aaaa i'm sorry but i think i'm gonna go to bed early so i don't hate the world tomorrow lol)
(ah no worries lol, sleep is important)
In the midst of all the pain, Wren could feel himself crying. It wasn’t audible, but if he weren’t a mere soul again, it would have been heavy sobs. His tie let Marcos’s fury and guilt reach him, making what little of his mind was left confused. This stupid tie. He wanted out of the cycle. He didn’t want to be some stupid pet anymore.
But… Marcos was here. He came. He wouldn’t let him disappear.
Wren wasn’t sure if it was care for him or for the fact he was property. But now that he was here, in person, trying to save him. He wanted to find out.
Marcos clawed into Derlik, taking advantage of the other god's unwillingness to let go of Wren. The two gods fought, tumbling to the ground and tearing into each other. Derlik bit Marcos's shoulder, Marcos ripped out part of Derlik's throat.
By the time the battle was over, just a few short seconds, both god's were covered in their own and each other's blood. Derlik was passed out on the ground from the losses, Marcos on track to join him. Still, he managed to pull himself up some, bringing himself over to Wren. Trying to see if he was still even there.
"W-Wren…"
Wren never got quite accustomed to being small enough to be held in someone’s hands, whether as a soul, or shrunken down. Were he able to move, he might have shied away out of reflex. After Derlik had let go of him, his soul hit the ground quite hard. It looked damaged in addition to the places where the chaos god’s long fingers had dug into it. Despite this, the soft glow all souls gave remained. Wren hesitated before speaking through thought so Marcos could hear. It sounded weak and broken.
’Why… why did you come save me…?’
Marcos let out a soft sob of relief when he saw Wren was still there, still existing. The god lowered himself to the ground again before his strength gave out, his hands reaching over to cup Wren close. It was cautious, scared- like at any moment as Marcos touched Wren, he was terrified it would be the last straw before the soul broke.
"I… I couldn't let him… let him destroy you," Marcos said, voice still such a small, terrified whimper.
"I- t-this is all my fault, W-Wren, I– I-I'm so,s-so sorry…" Marcos began to cry softly, tilting his own head to Wren instead of pulling the soul to him.
(I'm not crying you're crying)
'Is it because I belong to you…?' he asked softly. Somehow, there was no malice there. He could only feel the heavy sadness all around him. 'Marcos, I want to forgive you, but I can't even tell if it's the tie or myself right now. I don't know what's… me,' Wren continued, finally able to explain himself. He wanted to go further, but found that the words never came. Both towering gods had collapsed to the ground, weak and nearly physically destroyed. And Marcos… was crying… for him. 'I… I do know it's both parts that hate seeing you cry like that…' he finished, almost wishing he could embrace the god in front of him.
Marcos shook his head weakly, looking up at the soul in his hands.
"I-It's not… I…" Marcos fell silent as Wren continued, unable to stop his tears. So many years, so many centuries, so many things he needed to say, to apologize for.
"I… I'm sorry, Wren," Marcos said once again, very, very carefully bringing Wren closer to himself.
"I'm s-sorry that I've done this to you, that you can't tell the difference a-any more. I… I've hurt you so much, Wren… a-and it's all because I've never been able to say the r-right thing. I… I'm trying to learn how. I want to finally, f-finally talk things through… I-I don't want to keep hurting you anymore."
And that's when Wren began to break down as well. Marcos would have been able to hear the uncontrollable sobbing. He wanted to be angry for all the years trapped away, all the memories erased. He also wanted to comfort the god before him and tell him things would be alright. Tell him that it was all an accident. But it wasn't. It really wasn't.
His soul was hurt in more ways than one.
'I'd… like that. I'd like that a lot…'
Marcos gently brushed one finger over Wren, trying to comfort the broken soul in his hands. He nodded silently as he listened to Wren's sobs, his own coming back. He held Wren to himself, chest heaving.
"I… O-Okay, we'll… W-We can do this…" The god closed his eyes, slowly starting to lose consciousness. No, no, he had to stay awake, he had to keep Wren safe. He had to fix him…
Wren noticed Marcos fading, and began to panic. Shoot, if he had a body, he could attempt to drag Marcos out of the room or try and contact… Elliot! He was here wasn't he? And the door was wide open.
'Marcos, make the moon on Elliot's wrist glow. Something. I can't do anything since the form I had is… damaged,' he suggested quickly, grimacing at the body Derlik seemed to have completely obliterated.
"O… Okay…" Marcos's eyes fluttered some, and he used the last of his energy to send the message to Elliot. Then, his eyes closed, his breathing slowing down as the tears finally stopped…
Elliot's head shot up when he felt the burn in his wrist, saw the flash. He started out to try to find where Marcos was.

Elliot: Shit, something really really bad just happened. I'm going to check it out.
