Mara had just managed to get the dust out of her eyes when she heard the exclamation and the second thud, freezing again. Slowly, she looked up and saw exactly what had happened to her home. Her eyes widened when she looked out into the oversized living room and noticed the large eyes staring at her.

Darius raised one hand to rub the sore spot on his head, unable to keep from staring.
"U-um…" The man was shocked, to say the least. This was the kind of thing that one only heard about in children's stories.
"H-Hi?"

Mara finally managed to take a few steps towards the back of her house. She exactly couldn't run anywhere since this was her home, normally the safest place there was for her. Her breathing was shaky when she realized that he had actually spoken to her. Maybe hitting his head twice had done something to him. “H-hi…” she stammered softly back.

Mara nodded, still a bit shaken by this whole situation. “I-it’s o-ok.” she answered unsure what else she could say. “What… What happened?” she asked, wondering why he had busted a huge hole in the wall.

"Um…" Darius looked down at the papers and book scattered on the ground.
"I dropped my work, and I stumbled back and hit the wall…" The man, after the initial shock, was surprisingly calm… It'd probably wear off, though.

“Oh…” she nodded, understanding how that could have happened. “You… You must have a strong skull…” Mara chuckled nervously as the playful response came out. She still hadn't moved from the far side of her home, knowing that he could move faster than she could run despite his huge size.

Mara was surprised that he laughed at her comment but managed to crack a small smile at him. “I… I’m alright. Just a bit shaken.” she admitted since she wasn't hurt… though there were a few things that she would need to repair or replace now.

"Ah… Right, okay then. Total sense…" Darius shook his head for a moment. No, nothing had changed.
"Well, I really am sorry about that. Is… there something I could do to make up for it?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Umm… No. Not really.” Mara answered, shaking her head. Obviously, the wall would have to be fixed at some point but considering the state they were both in, she felt it could wait until they were more clear-headed.

“I… I don't know. This has never happened to me before.” she confessed, nerves starting to resurface. It would be just about impossible for her to go about her life normally as long as that hole was there. “Maybe we should… Well, first are you alright?” she asked.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Uh- oh, yeah, I'm fine," Darius said. He lowered his hand to his lap, nodding some.
"Just a bit sore. And- yeah, I don't think this has ever happened to me either." The man offered a small chuckle and smile, looking down before back up at the woman in his wall.

Mara laughed a little. “Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised if this was the first conversation between…” she gestured between Darius and herself, giving a general reference to their differing heights.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"I wouldn't, either," Darius agreed. "Though, there's still the high probability it's happened to others before, even if just a few." Darius couldn't help but think of how much more impossible it would be for this to have never happened, assuming this woman hadn't been shrunk down and had just been born like this.

“I guess so…” Mara shrugged thoughtfully. “It’s just most… I mean, what I've been through involved me running and others like you being… Well, much less friendly than you seem to be.” she admitted.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Mara couldn't help but burst out laughing at the statement. “Yeah… They sure can be.” she nodded. “The number of times I've been called a bug or a mouse…” She always found that funny once she was safe from being swatted at or being stepped on.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well, I can say for sure humans are much more likely to believe a bug or mouse ran across their floor than admit to themselves they saw you. Though, you definitely would terrify anyone if they thought you were a bug, you'd be huge for one." Darius chuckled some.

Mara still had a giggly little smile as she calmed down from her laughter. “That’s true, though I'm still small enough to get caught in a spider web if I'm not careful. Being called a mouse is probably a little more believable.” she admitted in agreement. After all, it was that kind of thinking and those mix-ups that helped keep people like her… mostly safe.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Oh, yeah, I would have gone with mouse for sure," Darius admitted. He had to admit, he hadn't really thought he'd be sitting here talking calmly when he first saw Mara in his wall.
"And that's coming from someone who has to mice…"

Mara chuckled again at the comparison. “Really? Well, I’m just glad you don't have a cat. Or one of those terror dogs.” she told him, finally feeling much more relaxed as she took a couple steps away from the wall and a little closer to him.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Oh, lord, I could never have either one," Darius said. "Dogs are terrifying, and I'd be too worried for Smoke and Ash if there was a cat in the apartment." Darius didn't take much consideration as Mara stepped more towards him. He didn't really want to do anything to her, and they could talk just well like this.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Ah… see, I have trouble with the little ones. Bark twenty-four-seven, and will bite anything that moves…" Darius shook his head some at the thought.
"It's not fun to have everyone laugh at you as a chihuahua chases you around the yard." The man seemed to take Mara's lead, starting to pick up his own mess.
